  1. Update: Parking sensors now work! :D. Removing the instrument cluster in the dark in a public car park was not fun... and I drained the battery with the interior light and had to bump start, but all worth it! I must say that speaker (unless I was a blind twit, it was dark after all) is mounted in a horrible place! Facing backwards, the only way I can imagine you removing those screws is taking the whole dash out?! I opted for unplugging the connector, popping it into the new speaker and cable tying the speaker to a loom behind the driver side air vent... Still works 😂 Next stop, door locks!
  2. If it helps, since getting the car back from the garage they identified the following faults: Parking Sensor - B10F514 - Front park assist speaker open circuit Door - 01334 - Right Rear Door Control Module (unrelated to the parking sensors) I've ordered and received a new parking sensor front speaker, hoping to fit in the next day or so... I take it I need to remove the instrument cluster which sounds like fun. I paid my local garage to read these codes, but I also bought a Carista module for ~£15 on Amazon, and that read all the codes just the same, in addition to giving info on pretty much every part of the car, and allowing me to do some funky customisations (Hill Hold now enabled :D), can highly recommend for the price. Not VCDS and there's a subscription after the first 7 days... but definately cheaper than most garages. Edit: found myself a rear right door controller for ~£27 on fleabay, hoping that will arrive for fitting in the next day or so too be lovely to have a car that works properly. Next job... reversing camera methinks...
  3. Hello, partner here Thanks for all your help so far. I was a dummy and left my OBDII reader in my old car when I sold it, so haven't done a scan yet. Will it need a proper VCDS or dealer level scan? Or should a normal code reader or Carista find it? :). Is there any way I can test the module as I've left the rear door card off for the moment for quick access till this is resolved. Thanks!
  4. Hello guys and gals! I'm wanting to fit a leisure battery into the boot of my mk3 superb SE-L. I've already got the battery and the split charger, but I need to get a wire through into the engine bay to connect to the battery. I've been upside down in the footwell trying to find a grommet or something, but does anyone have any suggestions? I saw some lovely fat beefy wiring coming through for the media system behind the glovebox, but I'm thinking it's best not to play with that hehe. Fairly okay with electronics, so just need a hole. Many thanks guys!
  5. Thanks guys for your input :). I doubt that there'll be any connections there ready for a sub/amp, as the canton seems like a large system upgrade. If I did manage to fit something, I'd be very careful not to draw power from the main system. On my last car I had a second battery fitted in the boot using a split charger with a controller to regulate the current usage, I'd probably do something similar and use this to power the amp. Main thing I need to figure is getting an audio signal to feed the amp with
  6. Not had any problems with grip either but then again I drive like a granny... a granny who's late to pick up her prescription... fairly brisk but still careful not to flatten the little kiddies.
  7. Got Pirelli's on my Superb (approx 1700 miles now), and I agree they are very loud compared with the otherwise lovely quiet drive. I thought there was something wrong with the car when I first drove it away like stuck brakes or something, turned it out it was just the tyre roar on the crap roads round here :P
  8. Thanks roo, I might have to look into that. I'll admit I was slightly tempted, but didn't want to fork out £600 extra for a car I may only keep for 3 years on PCP, I'm not THAT into music. Plus I thought the standard speakers would probably be okay. I think the highs and the mids are, but the lows are lacking is all. I suppose a totally non invasive way is to use an external music source (e.g. phone) and split the output and have that feeding the amp and the car at the same time... hmm
  9. Nobody? Thought someone might be interested in this one :P
  10. Hi Chaps Loving the Superb, but finding the bass a bit lacking in my non-canton SE-L, even compared with my previous Seat Toledo. Is there a way to retrofit a sub/amp to the boot without messing with the wiring too much? Don't want anything powerful at all, just want to actually hear/feel the low frequencies a bit. I know on some cars you can pick up the high input to the speakers and pass it straight to an amp, is there a sensible way to do this? I'm fairly technical and have fitted new speakers and amps to cars in the past, but worried about damaging my expensive new shiny. Thanks guys!
  11. Word of warning - I found out this evening that the lowest value it will accept is 5cm. If you do less it will save it, but as soon as you put the car in reverse it comes up with WARNING, Park Pilot Error, and illuminates a scary orange warning triangle. I thought I'd broken my car (I tried it on 3), but changing the number back to 5 fixed it. Tried it on 4 and same result, no worky. Had a go with the park assist tonight and it definitely seemed to work tighter. The Audi mod has changed the way the car drives totally, to me at least, it actually feels fun and responsive now, rather than Peddle down.... Short Tea break... "Are you sure sir? Well if you insist..."
  12. Yes I'm having to be very light on the pedal now if I want to keep the car driving smooth - even a tiny bit of throttle makes the car go, it responds very differently. As for the park assist kerb distance, it was set to 15cm which on the tight roads here leaves me stuck out in the road, I've changed it to 5cm, but I haven't had a chance to test it yet - I might make it even smaller.
  13. I got to play with my OBDEleven doohicky today, and performed a few of the tweaks (blower showing power level when on auto, park assist distance from kerb etc) but by far the most noticeable one for me was the Audi throttle, made a huge difference! With my generally pedestrian driving style I don't think I'll have any need for anything more. Thanks for all the input and help to all who post it! I've just gotta wait for a practical way to retrofit an A5 camera so I can go to sleep and let my car drive itself ;). You could try some earplugs?
  14. Is it completely impractical or super expensive to retrofit the A5 camera? I understand it means changing the windscreen I really wish I'd selected my model with TSR now so I could also have lane assist, HBA and TJA. The car is so relaxing you want it to drive itself... :P
  15. If you don't need the A5 thingy for "low" HBA, does that mean I could enable the basic high beam assist on my car using just the light sensor? Or does it need to have a camera of some description?
