I flattened my battery.
I would have done once upon a time but not nowadays, now my daughter was telling me today that my son-in-law has been getting bored at home.........

I flattened my battery.
Left my dashcam plugged in for 10+ days and when I went to start the car a few days ago it was completely dead . Plugged my CTEK charger in and left it for a couple of hours. When I went back to check how things were going, I unplugged the charger and gave it a try. It was just like Blackpool Illuminations with lights flashing and beepers beeping. It got the "Oh sod it" treatment. That was three days ago. It's been on charge all the time and it has sorted itself out so I was able to nip out to the Doctors earlier to get my flu jab. I was slightly worried when I noticed the orange triangle with an exclamation mark in the display and then I remembered it is there to warn me that I've switched lane assist etc. off . p.s. the moral being that buying that smart charger was a good move especially now when the car is hardly ever used. I can leave it plugged in all the time.

New Car today
My SE L has got 2 boot lights, one each side of the boot compartment. The one on the right (as seen standing facing the boot) is a normal fixed one and the one on the left is much brighter in normal operation i.e. when you open the boot and both lights come on the one on the left isby far the brightest but when you remove it to use it as a torch it is dimmer with 2 forward facing led's.

New Car today
The USB C adapter is at dealer's discretion for sure. When I took delivery of mine, the salesman turned up at my house the same evening with one for me that he'd forgotten to give me.

Banging from engine
Perhaps it's time to cut a little slack and allow a rant, I've even been known to say things in haste myself and been wrong

Lane assist frequent faults
I completed a Contact Form for European NCAP some time ago to point out that they had given a 5 star rating to a vehicle with a potentially dangerous automatic system and that I had seen claims that this was done at their insistance. I said this was based on personal experience and not just hearsay. They should be improving car safety not encouraging the introduction of potential hazards.

Kamiq Is It For You
I agree with most of what you say. I had a Yeti before my Kamiq and the ride height and ease of entry/exit is noticeably worse in the Kamiq. I've done less than 1000 miles in the 10 months since I got the car and I think that if I were still driving as much as I used to, then I would already have swapped to something else. Getting used to the instrumentation is definitely a steep learning curve and certainly not for technophobes. Things like registering Skoda Connect are very difficult/buggy. I've posted often enough what my feelings are about lane assist, spawn of the devil!! Once again, if I were driving more than I do now, this alone would make me swap the car. I don't need the additional stress of constantly keeping an iron grip on the steering wheel just in case the car decides to go it's own way. After I bought the car, my neighbour remarked how well it looked by comparison to the Yeti, well at least it's a pretty car

Shopping bag hooks in boot
Pass one bag handle loop through the other and then around the back of the bar to which the hooks are attached once or twice if necessary and then onto the hook. Always worked fine for me (I also had a spare wheel in my last Yeti). p.s. similar to what J.R. says above.

Amundsen Infotainment screen
It certainly looks like a protective film to me, have you tried picking at one corner with a finger nail?

Lane assist is dangerous
So, have you experienced lane assist intervening whilst you were driving? I'm certainly not a technophobe, just someone who doesn't like it when the car veers from my intended course after it has misinterpreted the road surface.

Lane assist is dangerous
It would be interesting to know how many people who have actually experienced an activation found it useful. It (lane assist) scared me to death the first time it activated on me and each time it has done so in the last 10 months, the car had 'misread' the road surface and got it wrong. Sure safety features are good but they must be reliable and accurate, imagine for instance if air bags misread a bump in the road and went off 'willy nilly'.

Single tone horn
I was thinking back and I'm pretty sure that I have never used the horn in any of my last three cars (Kamiq and two Yetis). I'll have to give it a go to see what it sounds like

@cvennall - a scan of the letter has been posted in this duplicate thread.

Kamiq and scala recall notice
So did I. Perhaps this is in part the reason that every other time I start the car it says there's a software update and then a short time later it says software is up to date???

Is race blue the best colour?
I know what you mean and I was agreeing with your use of "favourite" . "Best" colour would depend on what sort of use the car was being put to for instance. My daughter has just bought a blue Karoq (looks the same colour as your photo) and they came round earlier to show me their new acqusition. It certainly looked well standing on my drive in the sun.

Is race blue the best colour?
There's a big difference between "best" and "favourite"

Just swapped to Kamiq from Karoq- delighted so far
I had that a day or two ago and got a message to say there was a problem which they were aware of and which was being worked on. It's working fine again for me now.

DSG noise
I don't hear anything like this. I'm on my third car with DSG and I've always been impressed with how smooth they are, no odd noises at all.

It's on page 51 of the electronic manual that I've got. p.s. although it does say "Analogue Instrument Panel" which mine isn't the button is still there.

Dashcam fitting
When I bought my last Yeti the dealers absolutely refused to fit the dashcam for me never mind f.o.c. I didn't even bother asking when I bought my Kamiq.

DSG Feature or bug ?
I normally have my display set to show current m.p.g. and under the conditions described, it shows "coasting". If for instance I brake, the display changes to "----" or an actual figure. This sounds like normal/by design behaviour to me.
