Lane assist
The moorland road on which I had my first experience of lane assist is as straight as a die for about a mile with excellent visibility even across the bends that follow after the straight. Anything travelling less than about 50mph is expected to allow following traffic to pass. I don't expect anyone who has not experienced the sudden ill founded intervention of lane assist to understand. I'm sure that if what happened to me was common and routinely happened to others then it would be more widely reported.

Software Update Amunsden
Had to smile, mine is doing it again and then as I set off the display 'helpfully' shows something like "cannot continue whilst driving" and locks out the normal screen 🤪. p.s. - I only ever do short trips so it could be some time before it finishes, perhaps just in time for the next update.

Software Update Amunsden
Mine did this for the first couple of months, very often then showing a message saying that it couldn't continue whilst driving or something like that. I just ignored it and it finished eventually.

Lane assist
I'm not against innovation per se but thinking about such as the Boeing 737 Max crashes or looking at some of the videos showing Tesla self drive cars just ploughing straight on into a crash doesn't fill me with confidence. I now find that I can't relax and drive 'normally'. I keep a much tighter grip on the steering wheel than I used to. For me it makes driving more stressful and tiring. Perhaps my initial experience has made more of an impression on me than it should have. I wasn't forewarned during the handover and it happened as I drove home after taking delivery of the car.

Lane assist
Hands-free driving could be on UK roads by spring - hope it's not being developed by VAG at least not until they have managed to distinguish between lane markings and a shiny bit of tarmac 🤪

Kamiq recall
"Dear customer, a recall campaign has been found for the entered VIN " I wouldn't have been aware of this but for seeing this thread. Thanks very much. p.s. The response to the enquiry could certainly do with being more informative.

Just swapped to Kamiq from Karoq- delighted so far
Ah but and what if 🙂. The fact is that I was momentarily surprised and the car veered very slightly and in my book that is not a safety feature.

And if I had been passing a cyclist or a hiker (lots of them where I was on a moorland road at the time), it would have been nasty.

Just swapped to Kamiq from Karoq- delighted so far
That's finally prompted me to do more than just moan about it. I've sent feedback using the online form on the Euro Ncap site - "In a forum that I follow it has been said that the Skoda Kamiq achieved an NCAP rating of 5 because of the vehicle's lane assist function. This has intervened whilst I was driving on a number of occasions but it was always in error. I was almost diverted into a ditch on a country lane on the first occasion. The road surface had no markings and I was driving straight ahead at the time. It was very frightening. This is not a safety feature and is at best inconvenient and at worst downright dangerous."

Water retention in doors
That's neither normal or acceptable in my opinion. if I were you, I'd get some video evidence and then get back to the dealer and get it rectified.

Lane assist
My family had a weekend away last week and they took my car to put some miles on the clock (now gone up to 664 miles since December 😁 ). When they got to their destination I sent them a WhatsApp to say they had done 144 miles, got 47.9 m.p.g., had parked in the car park at the rear of the hotel they were staying at. Next day I sent them another to say they had left the dog in the car while it was parked up which had set the alarm off. I'm certain that there is far more data being collected than that being exposed to me. It's just one of dozens of ways that our every move is being watched by someone every hour of the day. Lots of people have experienced receiving adverts for an item they were just talking about in the privacy of their own home, SIRI and ALEXA are listening to you 24/7 for instance 🙄

Yeti Bonnet catch release
With a previous car I had, opening the bonnet was a 2 man job, too much tension on the catch. 1 had to press down on the bonnet and 1 pulled the release handle 😄.

Kamiq SE rear parking sensors
It's the first car that I've had that has got the feature although I haven't managed to trigger it (as yet). I can't imagine going back to having a car without rear sensors though. My brother-in-law has got a reversing camera on his Hyundai i30 which is excellent.
