  1. Have you tried a different usb stick in the slot? is it your usb reader or the slot that doesn’t read?
  2. I’ve jyst been through the same thing.. yes the Kodiaq feels bigger seems a bit brighter inside, but, the SEL Derivatives are differently specked. you only get cruise control on the Kodiaq, not the Adaptive cruise control., you don’t get electric drivers seat abd therefore non Emory settings Now, they are not big differences and of course you get 7 seats in the Kodiaq
  3. So, after 5 years away from the Škoda brand...I’m back! ive just placed an order for a superb estate 150ps DSG in Quartz Grey Metallic SEL spec. car in stock, delivery second week of January. now, to you Superb experts out there, is there anything in the system that can be activated that isn’t activated in standard SEL spec? I have a Gap Iid tool for our Disvivery, is there a VAG equivalent? many thanks for any replies
  4. Something I’ve been wondering. The Octavia Superb and Octavia VRS use the same setup I.e, 1.4 ltr petrol and an electric motor. As far as I can see, the batteries are the same also. so, is the BHP, 204, 218 and 245 respectively purely a software setting? Could someone buying the 204 Octavia increase it to one of the other BHPs?
  5. Yiu octavia drivers, I’m looking at the estate versions of the Scout 184 4x4 DSG or the 184 DSG VRS those if you with these cars ( get 230 bhp hence bottle deisel 184s), why did yiu choose the one you went with and how is it in normal day to day driving? Thanks
  6. I am going to miss the Octy, it's a lovely,, sorted car
  7. Let me first say, I have loved the drive and goodies of my SEL estate, it's been a very quiet car, with enough power and a superb gearbox. However... I am getting increasingly issues with my bad leg and hip getting in and out of the Octy to the extent of having to lift my leg in painfully, the drop into the seat and the climb out is just too much :-( So, I have ordered an XC60 RDesign Lux D4 in Passion Red, should be with me beginning of January. I will miss the Octy, yes I did try the scout, but just not high enough, it's a superb car and will recommend it to anyone looking for a good estate
  8. Something that is really starting to annoy me. Turn on the rear wiper and it washes the screen as the difference between wipe and wash wipe is so sensitive!
  9. Ah the modern British compensation culture:- where there is a blame there is a claim. Sad
  10. http://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars/car-technology/interviews/a26811/lamborghini-rd-chief-explains-why-manual-transmissions-are-dead/
  11. Why do you need 240? 150 in an Octavia is more than enough for today's roads and speed limits. What are your needs that require more? Do you tow large weights? What actual needs do you have that require a manual?
  12. Not strictly true. If you want an auto 4X4 Octavia you have to get a Scout, all other 4X4 Octavias are manuals. I'm afraid you are in a dying breed along with manual chokes, non fuel injection engines and candles for lighting. I gave worked in transmission and driveline fir the last six years and no one is designing new manual gearboxes as the demand outside of tiny cars for manuals is minimum. New auto boxes and new DSGs are being developed (ZF have a 1,000 Nmtr gearbox now) but there is no investment in new manual boxes, as the sales are not there to justify the development. More is being put into HEV, P HEV, BEV systems which all mate to autos. Every manual box is a box designed at the latest in the eighties and are modified with front plates to fit new engines etc. It's not just VAG, but all premium manufacturers spend development money in new autos not new manual boxes
  13. Would that be the reliable Toyotas with major recalls due a range of faults?
  14. i think I am missing something... With the engine running, press and hold the odo reset only brings up next service If I turn off the engine battery charge does cone up, but shows "SOC__ __ __ " no percentage Am I missing something or doing it wrong? .
  15. Sone quirks I gave noticed The heated door mirrors are not connected to the rear windscreen heater button, but on the adjustment button, but if you turn it on, no light cones on and I'm not sure Huw you see if the heated mirrors are on or not at night. When you come to a stop and put it into park n DSG the TSS activates and the engine dies, however if you press the accelerator the engine comes back to life, not sure how the turbos wind down if the power us cut to circulate the oil... In a traffic jam, slow moving, with two lanes of traffic and a high kerb to your other side, the proximity sensors have a dicky fit and you get the half screen bars around the car showing in the infotainment
  16. what a deal! http://www.simpsonsskoda.co.uk/new-car-offers/new-superb/ Think it may bite into Ictavua sales ( see? It is Octavia related lol)
  17. Yes, had mine since May. Good model, if you look in the picture gallery you can seek pictures of it. Very good spec,as it was one of the first 16my cars it was specced with ACC and Park pilot as standard build. Think they called it SE-L plus pack. Amundsen is great, radio fine, overall a god well built car
  18. Never ever had an issue with either my Land Rover or Jaguar dealers, both superb service.
  19. Yes, same here, plus there us a pecking order of the service you get from dealers depending on the model you are interested in. Was talking to the group buyer of a large garage dealership last week, he has a six month old E class saloon, and he has had nothing but trouble with it, including gearbox replacement. Same as myself, his wife has had backache from the terrible seats, he doesn't as he is short, but the seats are woefully inadequate fir larger people. Seems Merc build to a cost these days.....
  20. BMW (spit) has a problem with this, many left in airport car parks for two weeks drained the battery, as whilst the car was stationary and locked, the computer was still operating draing God battery. Nowadays, people line JLR have a power down timer in the system to go to only the alarm system power after that time
  21. Wire up a big flashing bulb to the light so that it illuminates when they are on :-)
  22. But then I would drive around with full beam to bugger up the goggles sensors lol :-0
  23. Just to say, if you put it into Eco mode, it stays in gat mode after key off.
  24. Nope, same on SE-L. I look for the sat bag to change colour lol :-)
