  1. How’s that B12 Eibach kit working out for you? Just bought the same for my 12’ tsi. Hoping you can give me a few tips before hand.

It has been great. I have 40k km on them and they feel like new. I recommend getting a VAG strut tool. It's used to spread the strut clamper on the wheel bearing housing where the lower part of the strut secures. Helps with installation and removal of the old one a lot simpler, no need for a sledge hammer :D

Many thanks for the reply. I have ordered the kit now and hope my mechanic can sort it out. It’s cold and wet here and I have no garage. So I’m not touching it. Lol.

Do you you have any before and after picts?  Or if I may ask, a measurement from the center of the wheel to the fender front and rear? I’m sitting 30-35 mm under what Skoda spec is. So I’m thinking my “drop” will not be much more than it is now w dead springs. Just drive and handle better.

      Have a nice Sunday.

  2. Can you lock your wheels (abs kicking in) when braking hard? If so, then you brakes are fine and only better tires will make it stop faster, unless of course you problem is brake fade after they get warm. If you are getting brake fade then replacing old worn parts with new original parts should solve the problem. Brake fade should not really be an issue in normal driving. Track cars are totally different though.
  3. Here in Finland Diesel is also cheaper (about 1.20€/l diesel vs 1.40/l for petrol) but diesel cars have higher yearly vehicle tax and cost more to buy, so you have to drive a lot to take advantage of the cheaper fuel.
  4. IIRC you need 10 and 13mm sockets/spanners. First remove the negative cable from the battery, then the positive. After removing the cables remove the fabric battery cover (that's what I had. There might be plastic versions though IDK) and then loosen the bolt (be careful not to drop the bolt/bracket) on the bracket that holds the battery in place. I used a socket with an extension. Replace the battery and do the steps in reverse order.
  5. Here's the front: http://imgur.com/e3BS5Np http://imgur.com/HIG1nJr and the rear: http://imgur.com/vGTxzqv http://imgur.com/hHbmauR
  6. It's the Bilstein B12 kit. Bilstein B8 shocks and Eibach springs. Coilovers would be great, but I just bought these Bilsteins. I can take some shots from the fender clearance later today.
  7. Here's a few. I'm going to lower it more with H&R springs. The -30mm Eibachs are not enough IMO. http://imgur.com/UhJJ2k4 http://imgur.com/uod1mYG
  8. Just make sure the axle load rating is sufficient to your vehicle.
  9. ET35 fits, but it might poke out a bit in the front, especially with 8,5" rims. I have ET40 and 8", and they are pretty spot on. I might add 5mm spacers to the rear.
  10. What's so good about VAG wheels? IMO there are better looking and lighter aftermarket options available. I would personally go with 19" at max. The ride would be very harsh on 20" and even lower profile tires. Also big wheels would look a bit silly on a lifted suspension.
  11. Nope, the 140hp Diesel DSG has the 6-spd wet clutch
  12. Thanks! So, the only thing adjustable is toe? I have the Eibach b12 kit and it would have been nice to get the camber adjusted to have an even tire ware. Another question. Have any of you installed a stiffer rear anti roll bar? And did it make a difference? Thinking about upgrading the rear arb, along with new break disks and EBC greenstuff pads.
  13. Does anyone know what wheel adjustments are possible on the Superb as stock? Camber? Caster? or just Toe? I guess the rears are not adjustable at all
  14. I'm receiving BBS LM replicas 18x8" ET40 with 225/40-18 tires tomorrow. I'll post some pics after I get them fitted
  15. The Bilstein/Eibach B12 (-30mm) kit is quite popular. It uses the B8 shocks, but the B4 shocks would probably work fine with 30mm lowering, though the lifetime of the shocks could decrease. Stay away from the cheap coilovers. I have heard good things about the KW street comforts. They are not cheap though.
