  1. for sale my octavia vrs tfsi mk2 hatch milltek cat back exhaust non resonated only fitted for 4 weeks but a little to noisy for my taste (must be getting old) so removed for a standard system it was purchased and fitted by vrs northampton mint condition cat connector pipe non res centre axle pipe and back box plus all milltek clamps and original invoice advertised on ebay located in south leicestershire any questions please message thanks ,chris  http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Skoda-Octavia-vrs-exhaust-/192265210359?

  2. I looked at the standard system on the car and the centre silencer is only a small cylindrical silencer not a big box muffler like milltek middle section so i think the resonated may be quiter than standard i think they fitted a bigger middle box on the facelift vrs to make it quieter as i always thought its sounded good for standard even after my old leon with cobra cat back

  3. I had check the engine light first time it was purge valve and second time I replaced the carbon canister all good since if it's running as if it wants to cut out it could be a faulty breather valve which the previous owner replaced on mine, if it's working properly when you remove the oil filler cap with engine running the engine should start to run lumpy then recover when you refit the oil filler cap if not its faulty

  4. i thought i would add to this thread rather than create a new one , i have the mystery knocking from the nsf on my vrs, i changed the rear suspension arm console bushes to meyle hd version hoping this would cure it, but its still knocking so i have ordered the subframe spacers and bolts from awesome gti failing that i will try new drop links, it had a service at skoda only a month ago plus an mot and they did not pick anything up apart from perished rear bump stops btw the cars is a 2007 60k

  5. When I bought my Octavia I had a 15month warranty from auto guard which as the car was low mileage qualified for maximum level of protection so I usually service my cars myself as I used to work in a garage but decided to take out a skoda service plan so I didn't void my warranty anyway I had my last service in the plan today which was a minor service and it doesn't look like the oil filter was changed as its still covered in dust oil looks cleaner though is the filter supposed to be changed on a minor service? I did change the oil and filter myself between skoda services with a Mann branded filter so I could check

  6. I always felt that the VRS did not perform in the handling department as well as it should. Maybe I just wanted it to get closer to the handling performance of a previous car I owned, the Civic Type R. I feel after a couple of modifications it is a lot closer now. Yesterday I had the standard bushes in the front wishbones replaced with Superpro poly bushes. At the same time the standard shocks were replaced with Bilstein B8 all round. I kept the standard springs as the car has only done 50k miles, so thought they should be okay. A bit of expense but well worth it. It certainly feels a lot tighter going into bends and the car does not lean into corners, but stays far more level. As others who have done something similar to their cars, very pleased with the results. Even fitted the later badges all round that evening, just to treat the car a bit more. They in my opinion, look far better than the original Skoda badges. Better not tell the missus how much it all cost!!

My 07 plate vrs 58k has the original console bushes in I found some meyle heavy duty bushes with 4 yr guarantee they look stiffer as they only have two voids in rather than four do you get any more Road noise with your polyurethane bushes?
