  1. Hi, my mobile phone is paired to infotainment system. It is connected by opening phone menu then pressing "Find Phone", this works well. However if I park the car and return to it sometime later the connection has usually been lost and the "Find phone" procedure has to be repeated. On odd occasions the phone is recognised without me having to do anything. Is there any setting that removes the need to continually reselect phone. Hope that someone has the answer having to keep on selecting the phone drives me nuts! My previous 2019 Octavia did not have this problem.
  2. I have a 2020 all new 1st.edition Octavia 1.5 SEL. Before that I had a 2019 Facelift version with the same engine. The 2019 car had ACT. My new car appears to be missing this function. How can I confirm if it does or doesn't have ACT. Thanks.

  4. Thanks for you comments! The only thing I failed to do was lock the door, this is not normal practice but on this occasion I erred. Pushing the stop/start button when the engine is on stand by only served to restart the engine, it does not fully shut it down. The keys were in my pocket...not left in the car...lol. It may be that there is some malfunction in the "Open Door" audible warning sound or it is possible that this is not a feature on my car. I hope to resolve this issue in the coming few days.
  5. I have already tried this test. If the door is opened after the engine has stopped, (via automatic stop/start system) there is no warning bong. The dot matrix display shows that door is open and also states that the lights will be switched off after 30 minutes. I will now visit my local dealer to find out about the lack of any warning sound relating to open door when engine is in standby mode. Thanks again for your input.
  6. Thanks for your detailed reply Gabbo. I am pretty sure that I did not lock the car door when I left it (normally the door is locked when left parked). This may be the reason the engine automatically self started after being left unattended for a while. In future I will be disabling the auto stop/start system when leaving the car parked.
  7. I will now check to see what happens when I open the drivers door after the engine has cut out via the stop/start. You may have put me on the right track for further investigation. Thanks.
  8. Thanks for your input. The car has KESSY so I hadn't left key in the ignition. For the moment I intend disabling stop/start when I leave the car parked up.
  9. Hi, Yesterday I parked up and the engine stopped running due to its stop/start function. I returned to the car after a couple of hours to find that the engine had restarted by itself and had probably been running most of the time, whilst unattended. I only noticed it because the fuel consumption readout had dropped from about 38 mpg to 12 mpg. Just wondered if anybody else has experienced the same situation. It has happened to me before but I just ignored it, thinking that it was just down to my error. (Skoda Octavia 1.4 SEL 2016).
  10. Have now put Goodyear Eagle assymetric 3's on the rear. These seem to have reduced the road noise to a more bearable level, compared with the Dunlop Maxx Sports. I now have two virtualy new Dunlops in the shed for when my front tyres eventually wear out.
  11. Thanks AllanDJ, I will now consider changing mine to the Vredestein. Could you let me know the size and type you have. Thanks.
  12. My new Octavia SE L 1.4tsi came with Dunlop sport maxx 17" tyres. Road noise transmitted into the cabin is terrible. What is the road noise like in your car, which is fitted with different tyres.
  13. Had my new Octavia now for a couple of days. The road/tyre noise is very high and drives me round the bend. Car has 17" rims fitted with Dunlop tyres. Otherwise the car is good and smooth to drive. However if I had known about the noise from road and tyres I would not have bought it. So if you are considering one, a proper road test over all sorts of roads should be essential.
  14. Thanks for all your replies. I have looked in the options list and front LED's are not offered, must have been lucky to get them in the Fabia. Don't know if its a current word but I do remember and understand the word SNAZZY.
