My kid was being helpful and doing some de-icing for me this morning and tried to get some ice off the headlight and from the ice scraper I now have a scratch down one of the headlights. I’m not exactly sure what they are made of, does anyone know if I will be able to buff it out with some kind of compound cleaner? I wasn’t exactly sure what the headlight covering was made of.

Didn’t use it much to be honest but I paid last year for the remote access to view info on the app. Limited use for me as a straight petrol engine but got an email saying it’s due for renewal and then saw this message on the site to say it is closing down soon anyway.

At night I find the brightness of my infotainment screen really bright. I know there is a slider for brightness but before the last update I had at the dealership I could have sworn there was an option to have night mode kick in automatically when it’s dark. I noticed after the update I now have the option of ‘background lighting’ which basically just adds a bit of colour in the background certain menus and on display with the speedo etc. Anyone any idea if there is a ‘night mode’ or is it a case of using the slider everytime you want to dim it?

Not sure if this has already been posted and it is towards the end of the offer now but as I have only just come across it thought I’d share. Up until the end of the month (only a few days now) there is 25% off the ŠKODA all in service plan, it’s for cars between 3-6 years old. 2 services, 2 MOT’s, roadside assistance and the bit I wanted it for with all the past software issues is an extra 2 years manufacturers warranty.

Might just be that then. Coincidence of the changing weather after the update that sometimes has a temporary effect on the camera/radar. Thanks for the input everyone that responded I will be more conscious and know what to look out for now next time it goes off. (Hasn’t done it last few drives)

The first time it went off I’m sure it was the weather as it was foggy. The rest of the time though the weather has been clear from what I remember, certainly the last few times. The fault comes on and then clears itself within a few minutes whilst still driving. The car was clean, I’ve only had it a few months so still eagerly keeping it clean. Maybe something has temporarily blocked the camera/radar each time, it just seemed a bit frequent so I wondered if anyone else was experiencing a similar thing. Mines a 70 plate estate SEL.

I got updated to 1941 a few weeks ago but now repeatedly get the front assist limited availability warning. It is frustrating, hadn’t seen that particular warning prior to the software update. Anyone else getting it even with updated software?

I have a 70 plate SEL with “full” KESSY. Does anyone know if they have the motion sensor in the key? Not sure how to find out or when it started in the Octavia.
