Also if there is an actual issue you will get a error message on the display and a indicator light on the display also

Replaced with a new version - working fine now hard to find in Australia and all available on Alexi Express/ eBay seem to be for LHD 😑

The engine was built on a line over 7 years ago and has had enough sealant to keep the oil in for at least 6 years.
Skoda build engines for the VW Group and they are in the sister brands.
So has the cam belt been changed and not enough sealer applied at a Skoda or VW Dealership at some point?
PS
In Australia in 2019 a Recall / Service campaign was called on DQ200 DSG the age yours is.
Is yours part of that and was it carried out. It is a Software Update because of pressure / heat issues that can cause cracks / leaks.

Not sure if the recall works have been done but I have been getting it serviced at Audi- I’ll check it out (have previously had the mechatronic changed under warranty before the 2019 recall)
timing chain hasn’t been changed, yes when there isn’t enough sealant after hundreds of heat cycles and vibration then you get leaking (if that’s what you meant)
-
Looks like from the cam cover at the top and also likely the main timing chain cover as well (I’ve heard that VW don’t put enough sealant on)
I’ll check the gearbox as well (DSG)
oil filter looks good- no leaks there

Had my button replaced under warranty 3 times, now out of warranty thanks for the part number for when it needs replacing next time (likely soon)

Am I the only one who's had an oil leak then ?
No, Just recently noticed drops of oil under my 2015 Yeti, 80000 km's leaking at the top and by the sound of yours the bottom as well - 😐
Any DIY's on here for the 1.2 TSI ??

I suggest that before you buy a new lock you check all the wires inside the rubber sleeve. between the A post and the door,
Yes already done, it's the new version of the wiring -

Hey Skoda Yeti dudes'
My 2015 5L Yeti has an issue with the Drivers door not locking or unlocking (using the keyless entry) it unlocks / locks all the other doors though
It appears to be the door lock mechanism - and I am in need of a replacement the part number I have found is 5E2837016A (apparently also on the VW Passat without the A on the end) also the 2015 Golf part 5K2837016E (looks the same except with a bit of an extra removeable cover)
HAs anyone else had to replace theirs and if so where did you get the part from (I'm still waiting for a response from Skoda AU)

I've had the start button replaced twice in 5 years on my Yeti -
If the key fob battery is low push the key fob on the start button this will get it to start (if key fob battery is the issue)
If engine battery is in poor condition this will make the push button start reluctant / slow to work - but if you have to push hard / multiple times its the button itself
A good trick if the button is on the way out is to use your fingers in a high speed jab and hold on the button this seems to work much better than multiple attempts or just pushing the button hard
I'm not sure why these seem so unreliable my 22 year old Subaru's key works fine and it's never been replaced 🤣

Put the screws back in (check the length 1st you may need to get shorter screws) with an appropriate sized O ring at the topHi
Just bought a white 1.2 Elegance and I don't think I'll be using the bars so this sounds like a good idea. What did you use to cover the holes with after you had taken the bars off? Just worried about water leakage.
Thanks

I've now received and fitted the factory fronts and rears (95 days after ordering) factory option rears are substantially larger than the flat versions in my pics
-
Let us know if you notice much difference when it's done
-
The 235 / 45 would be the better of the two larger options
You also need to take into consideration the width of the rim I'm sure a 245 tyre needs to be mounted on a 8&1/2" wide rim

Mine does it as well going from braking in forwards then braking in reverse

New mechatronic fitted
No slamming into 1st anymore (or free revving) still goes into 7th at just over 60km/h
-
x 2 for the cordless (haven't tried on the Yeti)
On a Touareg the rear caliper is tricky as well the cordless impact driver works a treat
As long as the head of the bolt / nut is fully in the socket just pull the trigger and it will spin off in no time
-
Do you have a photo of them fitted ???Just fitted fronts and rears to my FL.
Fronts are a breeze, very straightforward. Rears however are a bit of a bitch.
In Consultation with the dealers mechanic via the phone (who had luckily fitted a pair to an FL last weekend himself,) the conclusion was that two bits of hard plastic at the base of the mudflap (concealed in the flap's that slide over the car bodywork either side of the metal clip) has to be cut out to allow a snug fit.
Hope that helps anybody else who decides to self fit.

OK booked in for the 9th for a new mechatronic unit - see what the result is this time
even though we've had the car for for almost 1 year it's been faulty for 6 months of that way to go Skoda
-
Hi Again,
:p
Now I've decided to get some from Skodadop - as their postage is reasonable
However my 2015 City has rear mud flaps fitted - however is there two types of rear mud flap available
a) Factory small rear mudflap - doesn't go over the rear bar
and
Factory large mud flap covers some of the rear bar (similar to the front - that sits over the top of the body work)
Google has failed to show any "good" shots of the rear FL mudflaps
-
It's not really RPM that you need to worry about its engine load that seats the rings in the bores
So full operating temperature:
then full load on the engine (hard acceleration) then full vacuum (deceleration via engine braking)
Repeat

Thanks for the link will ~ this also returned a no recall result
I didn't watch the video
My symptoms are only noticed when engaging the clutch (no noticeable noise)
It's just like side stepping off the clutch pedal in a manual ~ a massive thump through the transmission
Oh yeah 4 week wait for the parts required !
-
Well I contacted Skoda and mine wasn't subject to any recall
Funny though that the car is at the dealer and they suspect it's the Mechatronic unit that is causing the problems !
-
When did this happen ?From what I recall the 7 Spd DSG mechatronic unit was subject of a service bulletin with a new improved one fitted .
I purchased mine June last year from the dealer (new / runout stock)
Yeti 1.2 - still leaking oil
