  1. Thank you for your reply, I will give that ago tomorrow. Thanks Again.
  2. All you Motor Engineers, How do you remove the rear seat of a 2007 Superb. I have got the front up on both sides, but the actual sides and back will not move.
  3. Superb 2007 Rear off side door will not open from either inside or outside. Is it possible to get the door card off without the door open.
  4. Thanks to all motor engineers for taking the time to reply. I had new glow plugs fitted and went to collected the car and for what ever reason it did not want to start, and when it did the smoke was just like an old diesel train. So I took it to a garage that specialises in diesel engines. To cut a long story short after diagnostics he fitted Fuel pump, fuel filter, Fuel non return valve, and although this was nothing to do with my problem a new timing belt and all the normal things that go with it. This was not a cheap job but my car is 2007 with 78000 on the clock and one previous owner. 11 months mot, just had brakes and disc on the front previous, and the glow plugs. This is not a blame game the first engineers equipment couldn't pick up the problem. The upshot is the car has never run better, starts on the button but if someone is doing the work for you it is not a cheap job. I hope this helps any other member make the decision the repair or scrap. Thanks Again
  5. A respected local garage that I have used for years.
  6. Hi All motor engineers. Skoda Superb Mk 1 2.5 tdi. Had new glow plugs fitted four days ago and everything fine starting on the button (no smoke etc.). Yesterday started have starting problems, it was taking a lot of turning over to get it to start. When it did start there was no smoke of any colour. Any ideas, only once started goes like a dream. Please Help.
  7. Hi, Regarding gearshift, i done it in the end. I,am not a motor engineer but hope this helps someone. I had to break the chrome plastic piece off to get at the guts of it, once off put something in the top to move the pin at the top down. Once the pin has gone down hold it there then pull the gearshift up (without hitting yourself in the face with it) it will come out with not too much force. To put the new one on place over the top of the gearshift making sure it is right to the bottom of the gearshift shaft then pull the red tool out. It cost me £85 for new one but well worth it in the end All i can say is gently bently and you will be ok. In future when moving in and out of gear press the back of the button only as this is why broke, the plastic piece just came away after a while. Please see photos to help understand the design. Kind Regards Graham
  8. I have a Superb 2.5 Auto and need to get new front tyres. I have Bridgdstone at the moment but they have worn badly very quick. Any good suggestions I would be very greatful. Kind Regards Graham
  9. Hi 5835 Carter Please let me know how you get on. Still trying to source mine. Kind Regards Wishbone
  10. Hi Thanks to all that read my post, and kkbc and Jimbof for there reply. I can lift the shroud off of the gear shift an remove the button and one of the lugs has broken. I am going to try and pick the button up from a salvage yard if not £83 up the swanney. If get a good used button and it fits OK I will repost and let you know. Again thank you all. Kind Regards Graham
  11. Hi Motor engineers, Had another look and it appears that one of the shiftlock buttons plastic clips has broken off, and that,s why it moves about too much. Any idea where i can get a replacement shiftlock button. On my Suberb 2007 it is chrome coloured plastic. Thanks to all who read my original post and this one. Kind Regards Graham
  12. Hi All motor engineers, Auto gear shift lever button has a lot of play in it. Sometimes does not want to go in gear, but with a careful jigger about will go into drive or where ever you want to go. Gearbox linkage does not seem a problem, it seem just in the gear shift area. Took off the cover shroud on the lever and it,s even looser then. Is there a spring missing at the narrow chrome end of the button as it all seems very loose. Is there a parts diagram on the net anywhere. Please help, as i know it,s going to give up one day. Regards Graham
