  1. In my personal opinion, all Fabia's since the mk3 have been way too high. Unfortunately this means, for me, the driving feel is vague. On my Monte, I've installed Eibach pro's. Drops around 30mm. I'm still not entirely happy with the height, however the car does feel more planted on certain road types and has not affected the ride (too much). Currently waiting for more companies to offer uprated ARB's.
  2. Welcome! I've had two Fabia's with the 1.0tsi engine and not one single issue to report off. I owned both for a total of 5years before moving to the 1.5tsi, so not really long enough to give you a conclusive report on them. With any small capacity, high output engine. Servicing and maintenance is key Enjoy the Fabia, I'm on my 4th and really love them.
  3. Looks incredible mate! Anymore plans in the pipeline?
  4. Eughhh, that pic is even better. I think I need a slight different weight rate set to yours as I have the 1.5 but you've sold me on these 100% Have you thought about spacers at all? I know my 17's are tucked a little too much for my taste
  5. This has been on my list for a long time! I'm so happy to see what it could look like. The arch gap as standard is beyond laughable
  6. I've had 4 Fabia's from new since 2015. Two Mk'3's (1.2tsi & 1.0tsi) & two Mk4's (1.0tsi & 1.5tsi). All have been suberb, aside from an airbag recall on the Mk4 1.0tsi, none have needed to go into the garage for work. Now, I will preface this by saying I normally swap cars before the 3yr mark so they are untested past the warranty stage. Aside from some interior squeeks every now and again, I really cant fault the quality of car. The price of them new however is a bit steep depending on what spec your after. Like Derek said, there are some solid alternatives at this price point.
  7. I have rear disc brakes on my 1.5t. I bought a cancelled order that was already spec'd with a couple of packs, unfortunately no mention of a rear disc upgrade.
  8. Lovely engine bay! Cant help but think why VW didnt offer the 1.8t as standard on the 6n Polo Gti. The 1.6 was fun, but the 1.8t on that chassis would've been a game changer.
  9. Followed this from your first post. Most of it I don't understand, at all. But absolute hats off to you. This is not your standard build thread!
  10. Unfortunately not, I've had two Mk4's since June '22 and none have mine have gone this way. I even get my car valeted so who knows what chemicals they use on mine. Could be worth speaking to your local dealer? Potentially a warranty claim?
  11. Oh 100%, When I started driving in 2001, the fuel price was so reasonable I never needed to keep an eye on mpg. That was until I got a Golf VR6. Mid 20's mpg was frightening, even hit 8mpg at one point! How manufacturers are able to do what they do nowadays is pretty fantastic
  12. Looking stunning after the wash mate, really smart
  13. After recently getting out of a mk4 1.0tsi 110 into a 1.5tsi I knew that it would affect my consumption. On a drive from Stoke to Cheshire Oaks yesterday (50ish miles, M6, M56) I saw 53mpg average going there and on the way back (which was a little more spirited) was 49mpg, so really happy with that. I know my previous 1.0tsi 110 would've been around 50-56mpg.

  15. Disappointed in them for that. I've never had that issue with garages in the past fitting parts I've purchased. I was stoked to know a VAG tuner was so close to me, then read some of their reviews. Have you used them much previously? I'm pretty new to the Newcastle/Stoke area and were hoping to use them for this exact thing. my Mk4 is crying out for the lowering stick.
  16. Surface rust is pretty good going really with all things considered. Hope the drive back goes well!
