  1. In the meantime, I got a continental spec left side taillight module from a breaker, still needed to crosswire from the right hand side, but worked immediately. Therefore 100% confirmed that estate + saloon rear light clusters do behave differently
  2. Yep, I followed that guide, and seems to be different behaviour on Kombi (mine) and saloons. I experienced same as the other Kombi on page2 who did everything same but no joy
  3. Hi all, I'm finally getting the work done for the Spanish ITV, to rereg in Spain. Last summer already I did a voluntary test to avoid any later surprises, and was told the only obstacles were replacing the headlights, and changing to location of the rear foglight from right to left hand side. From my reading here and elsewhere I was hoping the tail-light unit already contains the light strip, and it looked promising as the left side unit itself has 3 pins, but only 2 wires entering, whereas the right hand side in pic also has 3 pins, but 3 wires entering. By comparing the location of the wires in both I believed I'd isolated that the "spare" pin on the left must be what i needed, and I wired it up today, but for the life of me, no sign of the foglight. I'm aware the boot must be closed for it to work at all, and in the end, I even removed the left unit, and plugged it into the right-hand wires, and it still didnt light up. Visually both units look to be wired the same, with 3 pins in the socket, connecting internally with 3 wires, but no joy... I'm hoping someone can maybe point out something glaring obvious that I forgot, otherwise I need to go looking for a local-spec replacement. I couldn't see any way to open the unit to look more closely Any guidance appreciated
  4. I gather the difference is pre (15/16) / post facelift (17/18). However, what I'm trying to determine is if I can pick / mix between them, or if there is any issue replacing mine (15/16) with 17/18 without needing additional stuff?
  5. sorry to drag this back up, but plans got a bit delayed... Whats the difference between 015A = bi-xenon left head light 016A = bi-xenon right head light and 017A = bi-xenon left head light 018A = bi-xenon right head light
  6. Ok thanks, I think I'll leave the lashes where they are
  7. If I go with SLA, will that be a straight swap of the headlight unit, or need any additional kit? I imagine I'll also need coding for SLA...I have OBD11..will that do the trick?
  8. Hi all, I'm about to register my Irish reg Superb in Spain, and seems I'll need to change the headlights entirely as the Spanish ITV (MOT) will not accept the continental driving setting. I got a quote from a local main dealer of EUR2434, and am looking for cheaper options, so went looking for the detail parts list first on ERWIN, but after paying the EUR10, discover that is no longer much use at all. I've got a quote of EUR550 for both from a guy on a free-ads site, apparently importing from Poland, but I really need to be sure that the p/ns hes promising will fit, not to mention need to verify he's legit too. If anyone can help me get the full part listing would be much appreciated. My VIN is TMBKH7NP5G7081692. Is there any resource I can use to assure which model a part number is compatible with? What I have currently mounted is 3V2941016A 3V2941015A ( I think its ..015, the text has mostly rubbed off the label) What I'm being offered by this guy is 3v1941018 3v0941016 (not sure if typo here)? Thanks
  9. Hi all, I got a yellow engine light twice this week, and Obdelelven tells me that it's the glow plug circuit... error Code P067100. I cleared the error and drove on both times... A quick Google told me it is not too critical, but would appreciate your advice on the urgency, and what will likely need doing, as I have the car abroad atm. cheers
  10. So, if I understand correctly, you would remove the fuse board entirely, and plug the white cable into the rear, and give it a dedicated fuse of it's own, in a spare slot? I will need to identify a slot with the correct level of switching... permanent live, ignition-on live, or accessory position live.. Any thoughts on which is the best option?
  11. Got the keys to undo the headunit today, need to no figure out how to get the glovebox compartment removed. @langers2k On the cables, if the white is the. 12v do I need to get an adapter or something to piggyback from an 7.5v existing fuse, or how did you attach to the fuse box?
  12. Actually scratch that...found em in Amazon
  13. Thanks guys, I'm feeling much more positive now. I added TSR today with OBDeleven too, so making strides forward. The new fly now in the ointment is that i realise I dont have those silver keys to release the head unit. Any suggestions where to get these pls?
  14. Can i take it so that the cables are ok? If so do you have any pics of the cable placement as they go into the back of the head unit?
