  1. Thanks for the reply. makes sense, was not sure if that was standard on a car
  2. Hi All Car started leaking coolant, warning light came on, so topped up with G12 and went on my way 5min down road in stop start traffic, light come on again, pull over and fluid drained again. Topped up and got myself to garage. seemed as though when engine got hotter it retained fluid a little better. garage checked rad and that does not seem to be the problem, they think it maybe the pipe work that runs around car from engine manifold but th bit they can see they cannot find any cracking or splits. Has anyone else had a similar experience, I am going to garage tomorrow to have a look or for mechanic to try explain his thought process Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, My Mk2 is a 2011, 2.0l 170bhp 4x4 elegance saloon, not sure if that makes any difference to a common fault Thanks in advance Simon
  3. To update, had mine sorted in Leeds at JCR Ltd as I do not have access to ramps. The did a spot on job, pump was still okay according to diagnostic machine, even though the guy suggested it had not been off in its 11 years and115k, very happy with the service and was okay me watching what was going on. To my embarrassment the oil looked like Guinness once drained so was glad it’s now sorted and good for another 20k, thanks all for the replies
  4. Cheers, my Haldex 4 is now on 115k oil last changed around 30k ago, so well overdue. It’s great having forums like this because you would have idea, I just get mine serviced every year thinking all well. is the pump an easy fit, hour labour? for an experienced mechanic
  5. Hi, I am taking my car in for Haldex filter and oil change next week, I have a feeling the pump may need replacing which are around £170, what other costs should I incur for the garage to fit and is there anything I should be asking to check. the car has been spot on but realised when I booted it a month or so ago it struggled to get traction. Thanks
