Update, Car was scanned. Error showing to do with heat pump. Drove the car this morning and I can hear the pump again when I turn the ignition off. Pump must be on it was out.

Hi what is dtc? and would this pump if it has failed not put on the engine management light. Is this pump called electric coolant pump or does it have another name? Had the car on a longish drive today with no issues. Is this something that I should get looked at straight away?

Hi, Looking for some advice owned my VRS 2013 petrol for about 7 years now (80000 miles) and it's been a great car. For a long as I have owned it when I turn the engine off I have always heard a fan/pump noise which radiates from behind the dash and lasts anything from 1 to 2 minutes maybe longer before it shuts off. I noticed the other day that this seems to have stopped or is just not as noisey. Car drives as it has for the last 7 years. Temperature sits at 90 as normal Oil temperature is ok as well. All fluids are as to be expected. Climate control working. No warning lights. Is Is this something I should be concerned about? Thanks in advance.

When I report potholes via Fix My Street I always mention that the pothole is tyre damaging (if I reckon it is) and it seems to get them fixed quicker. I logged 4 calls the other week and mentioned 3 of them where tyre damaging they had temporary repairs within 2 days the fourth is still waiting.

I have had my petrol VRS for 5 years now and mines has always done this even after replacing the water pump which had failed. Skoda looked when the car was in warranty and could not find the leak. The independent garage that I use has did the same to no avail. I just learnt to live with it and check coolant every couple of weeks.

Anybody experienced this problem - I have a 2013 petrol VRS 61000miles. Every now and then when I get out of the car after my journey (long or short) I smell what i can only describe as burning rubber smell coming from the drivers side of the engine bay. Cant smell anything inside the car only smell when I get out. Car is not burning oil, no errors and from what I can see all the belts look ok. Any ideas.

Update. Swapped bulbs over and the flickering moved with the bulb (Thankfully). Called Skoda dealership and was quoted £180 per bulb nearly dropped my mobile fortunately I hit the deck first so the phone had a nice soft landing . I was expecting them to be expensive but personally I think that is taking the you know what. The young gentleman that I was talking to said as much and that I would get them cheaper else were. Called a VW parts specialist and got 2 bulbs for £80. Changed them over and all is well again.

Hi, For the last couple of days I have noticed my passengers side bulb is going out for about 2 secs then coming back on for about 2 minutes this basically carries on so it looks like its going to fail at some point. No errors on the dash yet. I currently using Philips XenStart which I can replace for £85 for the pair. I am happy with them but I have been wondering if anybody has got recommendations for better bulbs. Also would you replace as a pair?

Had the same issue for a couple of months I would get the warning but a tap to the light resolved. Replaced the bulb about a month ago and no warning since.

Anybody experienced water pump failure - Car is overheating and its been diagnosed as water pump failure part is on back order with a lead time of 8 to days 10 days. I know this is a common issue with diesel cars but did not think it was an issue with the petrol model or am i wrong To me this means Skoda run with limited stoke or they have had a lot of failures lately. Car mileage 52000 miles

Agreed I was less then 20 seconds from joining a dual carriage with a speed limit of 50 mph dread to think what might have happened.

Nokian Weatherproof tyres fitted August 2016. Flat tyre yesterday on changing tyre realized that the side wall had failed on the inside no visible issues on the outside fortunately I was only doing 20mph checked passenger side and it was the same although it was still inflated. Will not be buying these again even though they were excellent in the wet and good traction in the snow.

Had a similar issue with peeling paint albeit on my wing mirror - repaired without issue under warranty.
