  1. Time to say goodbye to being a Skoda owner. Tomorrow I trade in my Superb L&K for an Audi A3... My personal life has significantly changed whereby I no longer need such a huge car, so I decided I'd have a change in car as well. Having had 3 x Mk3 Superb Estates (SE Tech, then 2 L&Ks) I've loved every journey in them (and enlightened my passengers to what a great car they are!). The local Skoda dealer offered decent money for it, but they didn't really have much I was interested in (Panoramic Roof was top of the list, as I've had one on my last 2 cars). My 68 Plate L&K is going to a South London dealer who specialises in high spec motors and was pleasantly surprised at how 'loaded' the Superb was.... Many thanks for the hours of endless reading and information this site has provided ... Look after yourselves!
  2. Many thanks.. Just been out to the car and seen the setting
  3. Hi All, Looking at taking a road trip to France to see my cousin in Biarritz (before the year ends hopefully). Not driven abroad for a good few years, but what do I need to do regarding the headlights on the Superb ? In the old days you used to get stickers to put on them to redirect the beam... Mine is the L&K with xeons. TIA, John
  4. Hello, My phone (Pixel 5) recently received and upgrade to Andriod 11 and ever since (I think) I've had troubles with BT connectivity in the Skoda. I have the Columbus system in the Skoda and it seems that the phone connects to the unit but then if I try to play music via Spotify, it never works first time - I have to try all sorts to get it to work. I've removed the BT pairing from both the car and the phone but still it doesn't connect how it used to.. Anyone else seeing this ?
  5. Fitted them to my last 3 vehicles to keep the sides clean(er) and well worth it... I've only used genuine parts though.
  6. First long life service and Inspection at the local dealer...
  7. IT took me a while to find the L&K I've currently got. I used the Skoda main website (used section), plus Autotrader and then weekly calls so some of the dealers (like Marshalls) who I could see were turning over stock. I had no part-ex and distance was no object (because it would be covered by the manufacturers warranty, I didn't need a test drive and I knew what I wanted)... Sit tight and keep on looking. Good luck
  8. As you are just 'down the road' from me I'll keep a look out for you on the road....
  9. Maidstone... to be fair to Southend, the branch had only just opened and I don't think they had the skilled technicians... Southend service is pretty good these days
  10. I was thinking that as well.... Wouldn't it be covered under windscreen policy (yes, I know it's not a windscreen!) ?
  11. Purchase both my Mk3 Superbs from far afield. Any warranty work (factory) was undertaken by my local dealer. I don't buy from them because they are too expensive .
  12. I had a problem with a Qashaqi a few years back after I purchased it (2nd hand) from Westway Nissan. Got repeatedly ignored by the supplying dealer Found the address of the head honcho for Westway and emailed him. I didn't go overboard but clearly stated dates and peoples responses - he called me back within 30 mins and got the matter resolved. Not sure if you've tried this approach ?
  13. I've recently moved from the 150 manual to the 190 manual. I'm struggling a little on the fuel economy but loving the little extra power - so I can't have everything. I see you're near Swindon, so get talking to the people at Marshall Reading/Oxford. I got mine from the Oxford branch and they always seem to have fresh stock in every week or 2. Took me a while to find mine, along with loads of calls but got there in the end. I also found the main Skoda site very helpful if sourcing a used car, you just need to do a very generic search as some of the classifications (hatch/estate/dsg/manual) can be wrong.
  14. Having owned 2 Mk3 Superbs in the 150 bhp and now a 190bhp version, the former model is definitely more economical, but the latter brings a large grin to my face from time-2-time. All of them a manual gearbox. The additional 40 BHP is noticeable both in fun and economy.
  15. I also looked at Volvo (V90 & V60) but with the list price being well over £40k I was put off by the annual road tax so I stayed with Skoda. Next time I'll be downsizing and will look again at the V60 but perhaps leasing. Volvo certainly do have 2 very appealing cars in the 90 and 60 ranges.
  16. Not far off Silver https://usedcars.skoda.co.uk/en/used-cars/skoda/superb/20-tsi-4x4-laurin-klement-dsg-estate-hmb2wl9
  17. L&K ! But like Jeff, I'm biased... My 68 plate 190 BHP diesel estate came in at £24k a few months ago. Searched long and hard for one with a sunroof and finally found one. It was originally advertised at £27k and it wasn't local (so I placed the deposit and jumped on the train).
  18. Meteor Grey is very popular here in Essex so my dealer tells me and it often gets refereed to as Essex Grey! My first MK3 Superb was Brilliant Silver, then I had a Quartz Grey one which I loved and now I've got a Brilliant Silver one again. I think the grille on the Sportline sets off the Brilliant Silver fantastically.
  19. +1 for the faraday bag/pouch... I have 2, I use 1 the main set of keys and the 2nd for the spare set (including all the other spare car keys) Cheap as chips and effective
  20. For breakdown cover, I've used AutoAid for years. Claimed/used once and it was painless. FRee spouse cover as well.
  21. For my last Mk3 Superb, I purchase the steel wheel from https://www.tyreleader.co.uk/ I've also purchase a spare set of wheels from them for my wife's Yaris (winter tyre use)
  22. Finally found the time to go to my local dealer. It seems I can get away with ordering a new indicator lens and black trim bezel - Cost is £50 for the parts and they've offered to fit it for free. Parts have been ordered and they'll call next week once the parts are in to arrange fitting. I think a nice box of biscuits is in order for the service team!
  23. Did you need to have any re-calibration doing regarding the sensors in the screen (I might be talking gibberish!!)
