  1. thank you!! that is exactly what I wanted to hear..
  2. Sorry, I have moved on from my constant moaning 'where is my car' to now 'how do i........" so please bear with me.. In my defence I have a) asked the dealer before driving away, b) read the manual and c) watched numerous videos but I still do not understand the whole 'handbrake' and 'auto hold'.. Do I just leave auto hold on the whole time and therefore never have to do anything with a parking brake? or leave it off and only put it on when in a 'hill start' situation. When for my first drive yesterday and wondered why the car wasnt moving and it was because the parking brake was on and I had to release it.. I thought it released automatically when you pressed the accelerator? In really simple terms please can somebody explain exactly what I should be doing.. Apologies as I know this subject has been covered before... And.......... NO FREE TORCH IN THE BOOT!!!!
  3. well ............ She's home!! In the drive safe and sound. I am staggered how wonderful she looks (Petrol Blue, Beige Leather, Edition... very 'girly' but even my husband admits to it looking very stylish and he was NOT a fan of the beige leather choice.. ).. Even managed to get some Tesco Petrol on the way home - not even a queue... So far, cannot get Apple Car play to work wirelessly.. all ok through a cable.. Thats for tomorrow.. Just want to send out a big big thank you (probably a different topic), to Truscott Skoda, Helford.. Richard Champion is a star!! Couldnt do enough.. Kept me informed every step of the way and delivered when he said he would.. thank you..
  4. the annoying thing re: Petrol, because I didn't know my new car was going to be ready this week (even did the web chat yesterday morning and was told it still hadn't left Tyne!) so filled up my old car with petrol that I am trading in..!! Aaaagggh!
  5. Pick my Karoq up tomorrow (did I mention that!!) - build week 33 and have some new Bosch blades at the ready, just in case!!!
  6. Good news!! My car is at the dealers ready to be collected on Friday.. !!! I am beyond excited.
  7. Thank you so much for that info.. that's really helpful.. There is a fine line between not wanting to compromise the integrity of your car and being an idiot and believing everything they tell you.. again, thank you.
  8. I am passing my Fabia III over to my better half (waiting on a new Karoq!!) and he is putting it in for a six year Service in November.. there is loads of conflicting information out there saying what you should have done and when - I so wish we still had the old style Service Handbooks! I think he is slightly aggrieved as he has been told that he should have had a Cam Belt change last year at 5 years old (Skoda carried out service but never mentioned it) at a nice price of £500!! Also apparently air-con needs servicing.. again, this has never been done before.. I was lead to believe that the DSG gearbox oil needed sorting at 40k miles, but he was told, no - not needed.. With so much conflicting information I just need clarification.. Many thanks.
  9. that is such good news... If it helps, my cars arrived at Emden on 15th Sept, Left Emden on 20th September, Arrived at Port of Tyne 23rd September (it had a little detour of Grimsby Port for 24 hours - handy since I'm in Cornwall!!) and was a assigned a Transport Order on the 24th September. The guy on Skoda Webchat said it usually takes 5-7 working days from being assigned a Transport Order to reaching the retailer... the was this mornings news anyway.. So going by this I am hoping my car reaches my dealer by Friday of this week..
  10. that's very generous of you!! and yes, you will have photos a plenty!!!! Just hope they can find enough petrol for the car carrier thing to get it all the way down here...!!!
  11. I really do sympathise with all of you out there that are still waiting - so much so that I am reluctant to post my good news.... sort of rubbing salt in the wounds.. but......... (just cannot help myself).. my car was taken off the ship 'City of Oslo' this morning and I had been prepared to wait forever to get it from Port of Tyne all the way down to Falmouth in Cornwall (was always told it would be Sheerness?) but if the above is true about the storage areas at Ports being almost empty, then I may not have to wait too long.. Really hope you all have some good news soon.
  12. hopefully so... not sure I can wait much longer.. things are happening out there so not much longer..
  13. no, have not got a digital cockpit... would have loved one but wasn't prepared to wait.. fingers crossed yours gets sorted very soon...
  14. Just heard from my dealer - my car is 'winging' its way across the seas to Sheerness as we speak... So, to help anybody else with their expected deliveries - it arrived at Emden on the 15th and one week later it will arrive at Sheerness (hopefully) later today. Which I do not think is bad at all.. Now if only I knew what ship it was on I would track its whereabouts!!
  15. I had a beige interior on a 2011 Superb Elegance and I adored it.. Yes, now and again you get stains on the seats, but I would always rather see the stains, clean them off rather than them go hidden.. I then got a 2015 Fabia - with a black interior - I hate it.. (personal preference!). I am now eagerly waiting for a Karoq with ........... drum roll ......... beige interior... all will be well in my world again....
  16. really happy for you... glad it was worth the wait.. post a photo when you can..
  17. oh that's terrible, surely they have given you a reason for this.. Fingers crossed this all gets sorted for you very soon...
  18. congratulations..... gives us all hope!! So that is about 12 days from leaving the factory to collecting... Is that right? If so, I am very impressed..
  19. Thanks Vegit8 - this give me hope of maybe an early October delivery...
  20. I thought I would give my dealer a week off from my constant whining about when my new car would be ready and did the online chat on the Skoda website.. and this is what I got...! "Thanks for confirming, it's a lovely SUV! I can see that your new KAROQ was built and is currently in transit from Factory to the port of exit in Emden. We're now waiting for your new vehicle to arrive at the exit port for the next stage, which would be ship assignment." As far as I knew it was still being built.... So my build week was wk 33. Now.... how long does this bit normally take...i.e. Skoda factor to Ebden and then Ebden - Uk and then Uk to Cornwall... !! Hope this info helps anybody else patiently waiting...
  21. so.. whilst waiting... if you have 23 minutes to spare, watch this video of the Skoda Production line - I found it fascinating.. and so glad I didn't phone the Czech factory and ask how my car was coming along!.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eaR5541_3_Y It is truly mind blowing (well to my small brain at least) how cars are put together.
  22. I was thinking the same, mine is build week 33 - so another five weeks for me.. 😬 at least....
  23. 🎉 - congratulations!! Let us know how long it takes from this point until you actually pick the car up.. I am basing my whole estimate of collection of mine upon this timetable.. At last you can now see the light at the end of the proverbial tunnel!!
  24. sorry, no - I was asking 'Dazm'.... think I hit the wrong 'quote' button in my excitement... thank you anyway...
  25. Can you tell me what your build week was please... before I get too excited!!
