Not sure if that is the correct term or not, but the Bonnet Silencer (the foam mat that lines the inside of the bonnet lid) had fallen down onto my engine.. There is a tiny little bit of damage to it but not enough to replace it.. and one of the clips is missing.. I just cannot see how to fix in all the tabs around the edge.. Is there a guide anywhere or can anybody tell me how to re affix this.. Many thanks. Jane

"Sound deadening" rather than "silencer". Never had the panel detach itself though.

I think the clips just push into the holes around the edge of the bonnet, holding the sound deadening in place.  If you have lost any clips, you can get them from your Skoda or VW dealer but they may need to order them in.
