  1. Just a update not had the glow plug coil light on since the codes have been cleared (last Wednesday) BUT I've not been taken any of the gears above 2.5krpm & I've covered close to 300 miles!! So when I do decide to give it some & the problem returns surely it's got to be the turbo boost pressure sensor!
  2. Hi all So lately my coil light symbol has came on and is flashing car then runs on limp mode no EML light just coil light restart and is fine! Plugged into reader got these fault codes P001600 P256300 P00AF00 Car has just covered over 200k miles had all 4 glow plugs replaced at 160k am thinking it's the turbo boost position sensor anyone had similar experience? 2014 2.0ltr tdi 170bhp Thanks
  3. Hi All As the title says I been having this problem in the past year maybe once every few months!! and now it's beging to happen maybe once a month and today being the worse 3 times in the one shift!!! Only seems to happen when car is warm starts fine but soon as it starts the engine dies with the glow plug light flashing! Restarts 2nd attempt no problem and runs fine no EML or glow plugs light staying on! Replaced all four glow plugs recently as I had cylynder one glow plug fault BUT am not 100% sure did I have this fault before I renewed the plugs🤔 I changed the plugs with original ome (bosh) car has covered 186k as it's a ph taxi am now thinking could maybe fuel pump? Would the ECU have any fault codes stored even tho I have no engine management light on?
  4. As far as I know no BUT am not really checking my oil by the dipstick as it's being changed every 10 weeks but I don't have any warning lights or messages telling me oil low. This is what my own mechanic believes is happing! Forgot to say it's the 2.0ltr 170bhp version
  5. I've noticed lately that when my car is on its regen and am sat stationary at traffic light for a while if I pull away hard I am leaving behind clouds of blue smoke!! Only when am on regen it's burning oil any other time it's fine! It's covered 160k miles oil is changed every 10k religious not had (don't want) the omissions update! Am guessing this is just normal behaviour due to the mileage anyone else experiencing the same?
  6. Have a look at the rear plates on the disks they come loose and start moving about! The holes rust bigger then the bolts.
  7. Shaun You get access from below just remove the covers and it's right there at the bottom of the radiator two hoses and 3 hex screws one of the hex screws is tight against the big intercooler hose just hand to bend the bracket a bit to get to it Car was on my mechanics ramp for a total of 45mins a good 20 mins I was on the phone trying to see if I had the correct pump said to my mechanic much I owe he said arrhh a tenner!!!! I laughed and gave him a score (£20)
  8. Cheers for the help guys! Replaced the coolant pump B got the part from TPS they told me there was 2 different makes of pump and had to replace like for like I asked for the 2 then and I would return the pump I didn't use! They only had the 1 pump in stock. The pump on the car was 5NO 965 561 the pump I got from TPS was 7EO 965 561 my mechanic said better phone TPS see what they say guy in TPS looked it up said the 7EO pump was a upgraded pump to replace the 5NO and was the correct pump to replace mine! Fitted pump problem solved!
  9. Hi All Just had the EML (engine management light) come on and my mechanic read the fault to be a auxiliary pump!! his scan tool not the best and I then taken the car to another mechanic fault code P261AA00! which he said it's a coolant pump B (£160). I told him it's odd as I just had the car timing belt/water pump/service done at 115k miles then a week later I get my 1st EML 2nd mechanic googled the error code and we found a forum http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/showthread.php/143502-Fault-Code-P261AA00-Coolant-Pump-quot-B-quot-Control-Circuit-Open saying it could be the EGR cooler which the 2nd mechanic thinks it's more then likely the EGR cooler!! (£300) now being a taxi driver am hoping it's a coolant pump B and am only £200 out or anyone had the same problem and it is EGR cooler as that's looking like a £500 job in total!!! 2014 64 plate superb elegance 2.0litr 170bhp 117,269 miles I religious use Shell diesel (every 2nd full tank v power) and I do boot it now and again to keep these EGR/Dpf clean at best! I opted out having the emissions recall and I am 99% sure it's running factory standard ecu map car was a ex demo dealership with only 900 miles 10 months old at the time. weird thing is the EML did go out by it's self for a week (1,300 miles) and is now back on hence the 2nd mechanic input today! I don't want to goto Skoda because they will remap it to the new emissions map and probably just tell me it's a coolant pump B!! anyone thoughts would be appreciated thanks!!
  10. I can confirm there is no front pad sensors! I own a elegance may 2014 and use the car as a taxi! Changed the rears at 35k miles was maybe 5k left on them ran the front expecting to get a warning of low brake pads car was in for a oil change and my mechanic gave the car a once over said I needed new front pads! They where worn to the metal almost at 55k!! New pads he cut the sensor cable of to fit the pads!
  11. My mechanic is using 507.00 oil long life! I change it every 10k religious & I frequently do a Italian tune up!
  12. No the driving I do has not changed if anything since August it should be better as I have an out of town school run so the car gets a good motorway drive for 15 mins this is when I notice it doing a regen if I drive a steady 60/65mph as soon as I come to a stop the car is on a regen! came back on this afternoon when I was doing the school run I left the car ticking over (10 mins) as it was on regen mode came out of the school & the junction was busy booted it to get out looked in my rear view mirror to see a plume of blue smoke! I just hope this was unburnt oil or something as the car was in regen mode but I tried the same hard acceleration in 1st gear and it was ok then the car went back to normal idle! I got some Wynn's DPF Diesel Cleaner see if that helps
  13. I think it's about twice a week just now roughly 1000 miles a week I do when before it to was once every other week! There defo a huge problem for us taxi drivers every driver has had some sort of dpf issue most ether get it cut out & remap or get rid of the car! Am just wondering if these additive actually help probably try a terraclean when I've reached 100k????
  14. Hi all Just started noticing that my superb is doing more regeneration lately as I am now at 50k miles! It's a 2014 64 plate (private hire taxi) had the car from new and only use shell diesel full tank of vpower & half fill with normal shell diesel! I do boot it now and again for a clear out ???? oil change every 10k!! am now thinking of adding a dpf additive to help prolong the life of the dpf as I know anything above 100k I'll be expecting the dpf problems as my last car (seat exeo) got to 120k before I had the dpf removed ???? So now am trying the best I can to get the most life out of my dpf by using good fuel ???? Dpf cleaners any good or just marketing ploy? Or is there nothing can be done for the inevitable that's it's going to happen no matter what I try? Cheere
  15. Cheers for the reply guys! Both cars are manual and both of us are private hire (taxi) this morning we compared mpg & cycled through all the mfd info avg speed ect I had did 9 miles more then him from cold start but apart from that there was nothing in it till mpg he was 41mpg & i was 50mpg I could understand if I was on a motorway distance job & keeping it be low the 80mph but we both have very similar school run as in the route we take there and back! Measured the boots and there almost the same! Which I thought the estate would have been bigger! Ok he probably gains a bit on how high he could stack a load but that's it!!!
