  1. Just watched Night Agent. Only one series so far though. The Continental. John Wick prequel. Lucifer. American Gods.
  2. Quite enjoyed this. Worth watching for the opening 15 mins or so. I know it's all CGI but it was very well done.
  3. Not seen this thread before... The Who - Pinball wizard Van Halen - Mean street Great White - Rock me Magnum - Don't wake the lion Def Leppard - Too late for love (Drastic symphonies)
  4. Thought it promised more than it delivered this one. I'm also an Ethan Hawke fan. Predestination is one of my favourite films. Source Code is on BBC iPlayer currently. Clever 90 mins sci-fi / thriller.
  5. Ha! Reminded me of this... VID-20201114-WA0000.mp4
  6. I thought I'd updated this thread, but apparently not!...sorry! Didn't go well. The garage had my car for weeks without being able to diagnose anything...VCDS couldn't find the problem & every component they isolated & tested was working. Still wouldn't start though. Eventually they found swarf in the high pressure pump, which had fed through to the injectors. So I ended up with new pumps, injectors, filters, hoses...almost every part of the fuel system. Don't have the invoice to hand, but it was well over £3k. Throw in the flywheel, EGR valve, tyres, servicing & a few other bits I've forgotten & the last year or so has cost £7k in maintenance. I still love my Superb & I've stuck over 130k on it during my ownership, but I could really do with 2-3 years of trouble free motoring now.
  7. I've turned into a big Michelin fan. PS4's & Alpin 6's were the tyres that the Cross Climate's have replaced. I've got PS4S's on the Audi as well. The only non-Michelin tyres I have left now are the Audi winter's, Bridgestone Blizzack's, which have been very good to be fair.
  8. I so wanted an Aero. A few posts up you'll see my Audi S8. It was that or a 9000 or 9-5 Aero. Still find myself looking. Just can't run 3 cars. We'll see...
  9. I've developed quite a taste for this recently. Being stuck on the computer has suddenly become less of a chore...
  10. After 7 years of summer / winter wheels I can now only store one set, so I've retained the one's I had for the Audi & gone all season on the Superb. Original Themisto's looking pretty scuffed these days, but now wearing Cross Climate 2's. Good so far, but early days.
  11. Some cars are just cars & some you really bond with. Had a 9000 CSE 2.3 lpt. That was the first car I really bonded with. Followed by a 9-5. Loved my Saabs.
  12. Spends more time at the mechanics than on the road, but still lovely to drive...
  13. Thank you for the response. Can't truthfully answer too many of these, but I'm guessing they would've been picked up by now? The fuses / relays looked okay & VCDS etc hasn't indicated otherwise. The issue seems to be between the fuel tank & the high pressure pump, but something doesn't add up. Would any of those suggestions stop the car dead when it was on the move?
  14. 2011 140 CR DSG 4x4... Other half was driving home 4 weeks ago now, dash lights came on, car juddered, then cut out, all within a few seconds...then refused to re-start. Turned over fine, just wouldn't start. Fuel pump, right? Car was recovered, RAC guy finally came out the following day. Ran the diagnostics, prodded around a bit & decided it was probably the sender pump in the tank. No sign of anything electrical, high pressure pump opened & seemed dry & he sprayed something on the injectors that was almost enough to start the engine. So, recovered again to VAG specialists, but this is where it's got weird...they can't find the problem. The car still won't start, but the pressure from the sender pump is fine & everything they've isolated & tested is working. Last spoke a few days ago & they were looking at the injectors again. Any ideas?
  15. Pretty sure it's the other way around. The Audi is an old shool auto & that's got a torque converter.
  16. Right then, I've got my car back...& my current account is £1,946 lighter! Opted not to go the main dealer route surprisingly & went with a very well regarded local independent...I also have an old Audi which they look after, so this day was always coming. Flywheel came in around £1,100. Clutch was not replaced. Garage seemed to think these are very robust & it was showing no signs of failing, so it's been left for now. EGR valve was though. This had left me stranded a few weeks ago. The RAC guy that got me going also wiped out the codes, so no error could be found or replicated at the time. A slow start issue was identified a carbon build up, so the the throttle body was removed & cleaned...they mentioned something about putting this in backwards? ...& an irritating rattle turned out to be a broken air duct. Now driving lovely again. Could do with no more expenditure for a while!
  17. Not the answer I was hoping for, but I suspect this is the way to go. Haven't had chance to check the old tyre over properly...I will get round to it...but there was nothing obvious at first glance. The alloys are old & looking increasingly worse for wear though, so this is a definite possibility.
  18. Unfortunately I have neither the skills or equipment to take this on, so DIY isn't an option.
  19. Going down the indy route. Quote including new clutch £900 cheaper. Will update when it's done.
  20. I have Michelin Alpin 6s on 3 of my winter wheels, since the NSF went totally flat 2 days after going back on. I have an Avon with a similar tread depth...around 5mm...to the Michelin's, but on closer inspection is 9 years old. I also have a brand new Avon. Should I use the old tyre...this is the one that went on as a quick fix...the new tyre, or put 2 new tyres on the front? It's a 4x4.
  21. ...£2,700. CR140 DSG 4x4, 11 years old, 150k. Full Skoda history...for now. Love my car...almost 8 years & 120k in my ownership...but this is going to sting.
  22. Passed 100,000 miles in my ownership last week. Six and a half years that's taken. Been a bloody good car this.
