  1. I just posted a summary to the Yeti section http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/132861-help-my-epc-emissions-or-cel-check-engine-lamp-is-on/#entry4450649. Cheers
  2. We recently had an EPC light issue in our 2012 Yeti 1.2 petrol. I came across this website when looking for a dealer to help fix the problem. The car fault symptom was new, intermittent and resulted in the engine running in 'restricted' mode. This resulted in the Yeti running at max 30mph until it warmed up a bit (60 degrees approx) with the EPC letters lit up. Once the engine was warm the EPC warning disappeared and the car worked normally albeit with the engine management picture lit up. Our local garage in Godstone (DD Services) have a device that showed an error code, they called me and said that the car system was showing an error code BUT they said it is very important to get a software upgrade before doing anything else. Their fault finding had managed to clear this error and the car seemed normal but to be safe we took the car to Station Garage in Horsham who then tested it and upgraded the engine software. So it seems that the original engine software was programmed to respond with an error when it got a signal from a sensor when in actual fact the engine did not really have a problem...I suppose that can happen as engines become more reliant on software and sensors... Thankfully each garage charged for 0.5 hrs labour to do their work and no parts were involved. The Yeti is back to normal and we hope it stays like that.
  3. BTW I thought I'd post the error code that my local dealer found in the Yeti with their testing device: As stated, this resulted in the Yeti running at max 30mph until it warmed up a bit (60 degrees approx) with the EPC letters lit up. Once the engine was warm the EPC warning disappeared and the car worked normally albeit with the engine management picture lit up. The fault finding cleared this error and Station Garage then tested it and upgraded the engine software. So it seems that the original engine software was programmed to respond with an error when it got a signal from a sensor when in actual fact the engine did not have a problem...I suppose that can happen as engines become more reliant on software and sensors... ...anyway I thought I'd contribute to this thread because I think people benefit when they hear different views... Cheers
  4. Hi George Our Yeti is 2012 and out of warranty, we live in Godstone and DD Services are the local garage. They service our cars after warranty has expired. Crawley Down was the dealer we originally bought from but they are just closing down. Station Garage in Horsham seemed a good option to look into because my wife works in the area. The car fault symptom was new, intermittent and resulted in the engine running in 'restricted' mode. DD Services have a device that showed an error code, they called me and said that the car system was showing an error code BUT they said it is very important to get a software upgrade before doing anything else. They suggested using either a specialist or main dealer to do this. In the process of checking the engine system they had cleared the fault but they said it may or may not return and so I should be safe and get the software upgrade. So the car is out of warranty but thankfully each garage charged for 0.5 hrs labour to do their work and no parts were involved. The Yeti is back to normal and we hope it stays like that. Cheers
  5. My experience of Station Garage has been brilliant so far. We have a Yeti and the EPC started playing up. The local garage cleared the fault but suggested it needed a software upgrade from a main dealer. My search for a Skoda dealer took me to this thread and I had concerns based on what I read. Then I thought about it and realised that basically somebody had had a bad experience with a salesman...happens all the time, people are people and sometimes they don't see eye to eye. So I decided to try then and see how it went. Happy to report that the communication was excellent, customer service very good and the price competitive. We'll be using them again in future and based on my experience I am happy to recommend them. Cheers
