Hi, we have been away for two weeks on a holiday to Turkey. I have come home to find that me neighbour has had builders in to build retaining walls in their garden. It would appear that the builder has knocked up the mortar in a cement mixer on the drive and splattered it up one side of my car. Are there any products you would recommend to loosen the mortar. I suspect it has been on my paintwork for at least 10 days. The car is overdue a good exterior valet and machine polish but I want to remove the worst of it.

I think it is a fuse that has gone, I will check at the weekend. Is there anything else on that shares that fuse? Turns out the Vauxhall has the same fuse gone as well.

Odd one this, I got the warning pop up about low tyre pressure so I check and all four are down slightly. I get the tyre electric compressor out and plug it in the 12v socket in the front but it’s not working, try the 12v in the boot and that’s not working either. I try another compressor from a Vauxhall and that doesn’t work either, I try it in the Vauxhall and it still doesn’t work. It may be that both are broken (highly unlikely) but am I doing something wrong, I tried with the ignition on, engine on but it made no difference. Off to Tesco to try the one in the forecourt. thanks

Hi, i have searched throught the settings on the display but cannot find a way of switching the headlight washer off when you use the windscreen washer (headlights are on BTW). Other than switching headlights off and then clean the screen is there a way of switching off the auto headlight wash funciton? Thanks

mine smells a bit cheesy, initially i put the stench down to the kids. Where is the pollen filter located? might give this a try. Thanks

I was told the gear nob is a wear and tear item and not covered, at the time the car had done 8,000 miles and the tyres lasted 18,000 miles longer.

After 24 months of ownership i am proud to say that i have four unmarked 19 inch extreme alloys fitted to my car. That was until last night, i went a different way home last night to avoid traffic, a country lane that opens up near to where i live, i failed to see two large, deep pot holes and the two nearside alloy wheels got scuffed. I have of course opened lines of communication with the council and hope to get the costs of repair covered. I will take pictures of the two craters as proof and the scuff to my wheels. Anyone else claimed for damage against your local council? How did it go? I am 100% sure the damage was not there prior to last night as i cleaned my car over the weekend and took a tooth brush to them.

vRS mode in manual diesel-can you notice?
Banjaminion replied to Onion8's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
I have the VRS in Diesel and Manual and i can feel the difference when its in sport mode, noticeably the weighted steering and throttle response. Coming from Honda's that have an excellent feel changing gear, the manual gearbox in this VRS is as good. If i was to get another i would also chose the DSG, my motorway journey now has a 30 minute bumper to bumper ball ache on the M20 each day. -
Changing Keyfob Battery
Banjaminion replied to gregoir's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
I had the same problem, replaced mine with a Duracell replacement and five weeks later the dash is saying to replace battery. Will replace again -
Whilst sat in my car at lunchtime i noticed a dripping noise from the drivers side door, it had been raining earlier and i am sure i have seen posts about faulty door seals. Strange as none of the other doors seemed to make this noise and there does not seem to be any water sloshing around the inside of the door. Car is a 16 VRS estate.

Thank you, found glasses in the fire grate and checked tyres not run flat. Result

Hi all, I need to replace two tyres on my diesel VRS estate. My question is, are they run flats? Apparently there should be RSC marked on the tyre (they are the original Pirelli p-zero) but I cannot see this too well as my termites (children) decided to hide my glasses. thanks (embarrassed)
