  1. I believe there is no difference in the diffuser, just the Rieger diesel diffuser comes with an extended tailpipe to divert the hot gas away from the diffuser.
  2. I still have mine that I took off my vRS before I traded it in. Was going to put it on eBay but you can have it if you want? Jon
  3. Moving on to a well known German car brand with 2 extra cylinders.
  4. Well, after 4 years of owning the Octavia vRS, it’s time to move on. Couldn’t really fault the Skoda......fairly quick......economical......and practical. I’m moving on to something just as economical, just as practical, but a little bit quicker! Who knows, I’m might return to Skoda ownership in the future.
  5. I’ve had this happen a few times. Coolant level is fine, temp gauge is fine, but low level coolant warning light came on. To stop it happening, I unplugged the connector on top of the expansion bottle & cleaned the contact pins on the bottle & connector with a fine paint brush. There was a bit of grit around the contact pins, so removed with the brush. Warning light has never come on again.
  6. I had this happen last year. Take a plastic trim tool to prise the flap a little. Squirt plenty of silicone spray on the plunger. Unlock & lock a few times until it frees up.
  7. Powder coating is best option if you’re not bothered about keeping the diamond cut finish. Had mine recently powder coating in anthracite colour for £180 for all 4 wheels.
  8. I have a drone noise between 20-35mph & suspect the front tyres are the culprit, as they are worn to the point of requiring replacement. The noise isn’t loud but is noticeable. Luckily I am getting them replaced next Monday whilst the alloys are being refurbed. I shall report back next week to see if there is any difference. Current Tyres are Michelin Crossclimates & will be replaced with Crossclimates+ as I am very pleased with how they perform in all weather conditions.
  9. Just as an update, I cleaned the connector on top of the expansion tank, and since then the warning light hasn’t come on. There was a small amount of dirt/scum on the pins, so this may have the problem.
  10. Yep, I’ve the rear one to do yet
  11. Just removed the front badge today. Wish I’d read this beforehand! It was a PITA removing the glue residue when cold. Took about 45 mins to get it all off.
  12. I’ve used Vasstech the last couple of years, although it’s the one in Teesside Ind EST. Can’t fault them. They gave me one of their own service books, which is of copy of the old VW type book. They also supplied the new style print outs.
  13. I'm starting to have the same issue. No pattern of when it happens, just randomly. No overheating. Temperature gauge is either at normal 90 degrees or just before. It has done it about 5 times in the past 3 weeks. The first time was immediately after a service, so I took it back to the garage. They couldn't find any fault codes and the coolant level was fine. Basically said that it could be the coolant level sensor and to keep an eye on it. Since it is now doing it regularly, I will book it in to get the sensor replaced.
  14. Garage said no codes found, coolant level fine. If it was overheating then it would be a failed water pump, so just keep an eye on it. It's happened three times so far after the service.
  15. 2014 2.0 TDI vRS CUPA engine. 38792 miles. My coolant level warning light has come on a few times in the past couple of weeks. The first time was just after it had been serviced , so I immediately returned to the garage for them to check it out. There was no overheating & the coolant level was fine. Not entirely sure what’s going on here. Is this a failed water pump or just a faulty coolant sensor?
  16. Was originally going to get rid.......... but decided against it! So...... already fitted a Rieger rear diffuser yesterday. Also just ordered from SuperSkoda (took advantage of the 20% discount!):- Front & rear mudflaps Gloss black rear bumper protector Black Skoda badges with Candy White background At some point I would like to refurb the 18” Gemini’s in Black & Diamond cut.
  17. The OEM set up is charge cooler, with turbocharger integrated into the exhaust manifold. The Darkside turbo kit includes new tubular exhaust manifold. Not really sure if the charge cooler will cope, but Darkside recommend upgrading to an intercooler & removing the EGR valve.
  18. There are different specs of turbo upgrades you can choose from. There is a comparison table further down the Darkside Development page. Each one will give different amounts of power, but it’s really the torque values with the diesel engines.
  19. Darkside Developments have a big turbo kit for the 2.0 TDI engine. https://www.darksidedevelopments.co.uk/products/darkside-gtb-turbo-kit-for-2-0-16v-common-rail-engines-mk7-platform-2013.html
  20. Easy to fit? Whats involved to fit these?
  21. My Rieger diffuser arrived today! Gonna try & fit this at the weekend. However, even though I specified the TDI version, there is no exhaust pipe extension supplied. Not a great problem, as I can get my hands on some heat shield material, but is this something that was in the polythene bag or box?
