  1. Ricardo, I'll try to be more exact tomorrow. I see how that could matter.
  2. Has anyone come across a situation where you hear a scraping ,rumble on the front brake of a Felicia? It's my 1.3. I've also heard it on my pal's 1.6. Both brakes are working properly, the cradle mechanism is running freely. The noise is more noticeable when you first start out. It's got me confused.
  3. Thanks Ricardo for your help. If I tackle the job I will post some photos.
  4. I have an interest in a 1999 1.3 Skoda Felicia Gli. The lights all work, except the flash option on the left steering wheel stalk. Is there a separate relay or fuse for the flash ,as the main and low beam both work? I assume,if there's no fuse, it could be the switch?
  5. This ad is currently on gumtree. He started at £599. It's now at £299. Anyone who has owned a Felicia will know that the claims in this ad are fiction. Traction control. He claims the cam belt has been done, there is no Cam belt on 1.3. Air conditioning. Power steering? And it's only got one months mot. Passenger airbags. Side airbags. Electric mirrors and wing mirrors. All fiction. Recommend it to your worst enemy. I saw the car, it's got mayonnaise coolant. Anyway, it made me laugh.
  6. Re bleeding the coolant. I've had reasonable results by filling up the coolant reservoir and bleeding it from a heater hose on the bulkhead. I make sure I have a column of water by burping the main rad hoses. When I run the car, it rarely needs any topping up. Check the heater is working and Bob's your parent's brother. I would like to say, Ricardo nursed me through a difficult top end rebuild 18 months ago. Now although we got off to a strained start with our communications, he was A1 and very patient with me.
  7. I now have an idea of which part I need. It seems to be 893711615a. See photos below. Anyone who knows where I can get one ,please let me know on the forum.
  8. Ken, thanks for the advice. I'll look into it. I have a feeling that the1.6 Golf had a different gearbox and linkage. Any lead is a good one. Pod.
  9. I included my problem with the linkage on the classic skoda forum. It is also a maintenance issue, so I'll put it on this forum too. The 1996 1.6 petrol Felicia seems to have a different linkage bush and connection at the gearbox end, compared to the1.3. I can't find a part number (skoda or vw) for a repair kit or new bush. So, I'm looking for help finding the part or a satisfactory fix ,which will take the play out of the bush. Please see the photos. One is 1.3 arrangement, the other is the 1.6 set up that I'm struggling with. That's the one with the bolt head showing in the picture. The reverse gear is clunky on engagement, so I don't want to drive it until I have improved the situation. I have found an old EBay image on Google of something similar. Still no part number though. Antony (Pod).
  10. I've recently bought and put on the road my (seventh,at least) Felicia. It's a 29,000 mile, 1.6 though. I'll try to upload images of the car and problem. The gear linkage has play at the gearbox end. The bush and connection is different to the 1.3. I am ready to take it apart, only thing is , I have no part number (skoda or equivalent). So does anybody have the information or a link to parts for 1.6 linkage? Or, maybe an easy fix, if the part is unavailable. I have loaded photos of the1.6, it's linkage and a 1.3 linkage for comparison ( the dirty one) .....Thanks Antony.
  11. I changed the fuel pump and sender. Results seem good. Just timing chain and sprockets left on the list now...
  12. Thanks, will do. The petrol pump can be heard after stalls if I remember. So is it the pump that is likely to be dropping the fuel supply pressure, or should I check something else first? I've only managed to stall it once since the head was fixed, and I heard the pump as it stopped.
  13. No worries. I had time to fit the new thermostat and housing, I just wanted to be sure that I wasn't missing an overflow pipe. Also, I have a donor car for parts now. I want to change the fuel pump. I've looked at Haynes, it says I should access it from the luggage space, which appears to be wrong. Do I need to remove the back seats?
  14. Can anyone explain how the 1.3 engine copes with excess pressure in the water system? Does it vent through the filler cap,if over pressure or over full? Ricardo, I will oblige with some photos when the/if the weather improves over here!
  15. Yes it did help. I ordered one earlier, and I'm much relieved ,it's the correct part. I will take some new, low resolution shots of the car, that the site can accept.
