  1. Thank you for the review, and the cargo space looks brilliant. I’m switching from a Superb (hatch) to an Enyaq 80, and based on your experiences it sounds like it will work just fine as the main car for our family of four.
  2. Last time I spoke with my dealer he said they were still building incomplete cars and putting them into storage waiting for components. However, he also said the EV’s and hybrids have priority, probably because they lower the fleet emissions.
  3. Oh dear lord, not another “coupe SUV”. They are all hideous, regardless of brand. I would have much preferred a Superb EV - maybe that’s coming when the new Passat is introduced in 2023, which I’ve read is supposed to be available with a fully electric drivetrain. It’s supposedly still based on the MQB platform though, so how good it will be as an EV remains to be seen.
  4. The Eco Suite interior is beautiful, it’s been in all dealer cars I’ve seen so far. I would have ordered it in a heartbeat if my wife hadn’t vetoed any brown interior. 😟
  5. Checked in again with the dealer today. My car is now in Status 5+, with build week 33. Apparently 5+ means it’s “95% certain that it will be built in the assigned week”.

Nice! Looking forward to hearing how you like it.
  7. I’m in Sweden. Ordered an 80 “Loft” (I guess it’s called in the UK), with some extras (big infotainment, family pack and some other bits and bobs). I think we got around 3500 cars allocated for the year, but I was hoping I got in early as there weren’t any demo cars around when I ordered. I think we get some things as standard that are options in the UK, maybe there’s a shortage or delay on some of that stuff. I guess it will get here eventually.
  8. Checked in with my dealer the other day. Mine still doesn’t have a confirmed build date, just a preliminary build week 1 (which I assume means week 1, 2022 - but who knows…). I certainly hope it’ll get built sooner than that. The car was ordered in early March.
  9. I see it exactly the other way around. 😀 There’s no way I’m buying a new €60.000 car in a color I don’t like. What difference does €6-700 make when we’re talking that kind of money. But to each their own. 👍🏻

Mine was still status 4 (iirc) with preliminary build week 1, which I hope is a temporary placeholder. Hopefully it gets here before the lease on my Superb expires at the end of November. 🤷🏼

Just spoke to my dealer to check on some options that has changed since I ordered my car (you can no longer get Infotainment Plus without also having one of the leather interiors in Sweden). There’s still no build date for me, car was ordered In early March. 😟
  12. Let me try to translate the Swedish text, it’s a bit more detailed than the UK copy. “Heat pump Compared to a petrol powered car, the drivetrain in a BEV doesn’t generate enough excess heat to warm the cabin. The solution: A highly efficient heat pump which compresses a refrigerant under high pressure. The generated heat is used to heat streaming cold air. This uses less energy from the battery for the high voltage heater, which results in longer range compared to BEVs without a heat pump.” Not sure if it helps, and I’m sure there are things in my translation that is wrong. 😄
  13. From this illustration in the Swedish brochure it certainly looks like it’s used for the cabin too (can’t see why it wouldn’t). If the illustration is accurate, that is… 😁 I didn’t see a similar illustration in the UK brochure. Maybe they omitted it as it’s not a standard feature on UK cars, I believe? Edit: Sorry, I didn’t re-read the first page, so didn’t see that the same illustration was shown there. Feel free to ignore….

Me too. Coming from a Superb with the Canton option (which is pretty decent I think), I have a feeling the standard sound system will be lacking. But there were no upgraded sound system available when I ordered. Maybe in three years when it’s time to replace the Enyaq… 😁
  15. I also tested both the Model 3 Long Range and the Enyaq - and I wouldn’t touch the 3 with a ten foot pole after driving the Enyaq and ID.4. 😁 To me the 3 felt a bit like a kit car built in a shed. The interior is cheap feeling in that special American way, the cabin is noisy and cramped and the single central screen is a real turn-off for me. Especially after it decided to go black to install an update leaving you without any instrumentation while driving (as it did during our test drive). The acceleration, efficiency and Super Charger Network are of course plus points, so if that is important - the 3 might be a good choice. To us as a family, the space and some features missing on the 3 that’s available on the Enyaq were much more important qualities. Maybe the Y is a higher quality car, but until it’s available in Europe (maybe, some day) it’s hard to tell. It’s great that there are more EV options becoming available all the time, as we all have different expectations and needs when it comes to cars.

Björns patented Banana Box Test and Adaptive Headlight Test are now online.

Björn Nyland, aka Tesla-Björn, has started testing the Enyaq. I’m sure there will be more videos over the next few days. Range Test
  18. Totally agree on Energy Blue. It’s an awful color on any car I’ve seen it on. A solid black or white would be better for a free color - but I guess they want to “force” people to upgrade to a metallic color. 😁
  19. My dealer had three cars last time I was there, in Arctic Silver, Velvet Red and Brilliant Silver. The red looks pretty good, if you like red cars. Brilliant Silver is very bland and seems to erase / smooth out a lot of the details in the design. I didn’t like it at all. Arctic Silver is my favorite by far of the ones I’ve seen (and also the color I’ve ordered).
  20. I placed my order for an Enyaq 80 a month ago (March 2’nd), and at that time my dealer told me it would be built in June, at the earliest. So I’m not expecting it to be available for pickup until sometime this autumn (I need it by December 1’st to replace my current company car). This is in Sweden though, I don’t know how and if the allotment of cars per country and such affects build and delivery lead times.
  21. Ordered a Enyaq 80 in Arctic silver to replace our current lava blue 2019 Superb L&K TDI190. This is a Swedish spec veichle, so heat pump, Light & View Basic, Assisted Drive Plus, Climate Basic, Convenience Basic and Loft interior are standard on the 80. Added extras: - Comfort seat basic - Climate Plus - Family Plus - Infotainment Plus - 125kW charger - Tow bar
