  1. As above I have the 190bhp and am delighted with the way it tows at 1500kg. The Superb 150 was tow car of the year in 16-17 at the 1500kg caravan weight.
  2. With regard to the above,I have just spoken to a mechanic friend and shown him the photo his opinion is that the cars wheels are towing out and it needs tracking and wheel alinement checking. Tow out is apparently when the front wheels point slightly outwards and tow in the opposite pointing slightly inwards at the front.
  3. This is my front O/S tyre this morning, which suddenly deflated on me. Thankfully I had just stopped, the front n/s went about 2000 miles ago, big nail through it, but i noticed then that it appeared very worn on the inside edge. This one is a real mess and could have been a lot worse had i been on a motorway or something. The fitter checked to see if it had been scraping against anything on the car suspension and no it hadn't. So I think the car needs looking at as the tracking or wheel caster/camber must be out. Anyone else had problems mine is on 18" wheels not 19". I suggest very strongly you check your tyres on full lock the wires and canvas were sticking out, don't run your hand over it as you will cut your hand to bits. I am more than a bit shocked as the tyres still have a good tread 4mm at least.
  4. I can not answer your question but suspect it is just the wiring loom and data set up in preparation for a future tow bar, none Skoda. I have recently had an aftermarket removable tow bar fitter £570 with dedicated electrics, wish I had just got the factory fitted one. but at the time it was over £700 and I didn't have a caravan then so it wasn't a priority.
  5. Now I accept that I may have a heavy foot and the last 3-4 refuels have been when there is towing involved but 40 mpg is about my average without the towing refuels and I almost always drive in eco engine mode coasting a lot. DSG gear box. fuelly figures below and up to date.
  6. Well had to refill the ad-blu today the warning came on at 1500 and got round to doing it with 1100 miles left to empty. 13030 Miles put in 14.39L at 67p a litre, £9.64, 8000 forecast after refill. The first re fill was back at 5462Miles, 14.38 litre 65.9 pence per litre, £9.48, 8500 range forecast after refill. Both times i refilled at Aycliffe services Pump, just of the A1M north of Darlington Truck bays. far easier than messing about plug filler hose in and squeeze until it cuts out job done. Oh ye quite a lot cheaper as well.
  7. I asked a similar question last month and the replies suggested, Sports mode, which is the mode i used when I collected the van, to be honest it works as far as i am concerned. Thread link
  8. Well I know the Superb Won last year, but i didn't have a Caravan then and to be honest didn't care. However last Month I bought a caravan weighing 1450kg and guess what the Skoda Superb, won the catagory winner for 1400-1550KG this year so Im happy with that, especially as it was the 150 that won and I have the 190. Well done Skoda. http://www.thetowcarawards.com/winners/2017-1400-1549kg/
  9. Not once i disconect the 13 pin plug. I do have to reset it manually but then they stay on.
  10. TOWBAR2U £575 fitted at your home with dedicated electrics, Witter removable tow bar and re-map.
  11. I have just had a tow bar fitter, along with car specific wiring and the re-mapping work. If i connect the caravan the two items disconnect automatically. when I disconnect the 13 pin plug these two items do not turn back on automatically and I have to reset them manually, once done they stay on all the time, hope this is of some help.
  12. Well had the Towbar fitted today, along with the dedicated electrics and Re-Map of the putor, all working great. took the poor lad almost 5 hours to fit in the rain and it looks like a right pain in the ass to do. Definatly not a DIY job for the likes of me + of couse i wouldnt have had the re-map thing. All in all happy with the job he has done. TOWBAR2U £575 fitted at your home with dedicated electrics, Witter removable tow bar and re-maped.
  13. The refuel figues for my 190 DSG can be found in the signature below from Fuelly and they are nowhere near the claimed ones, Highest 46.9 Lowest 33, however I wasn't expecting them to be anywhere near, they never are -25% is somewhere closer. Still happy however as its more than my last car a Mondeo 2.2 175 bph which was nearer 37MPG.
  14. Thank you both, I didn't realise that the chipping thing effected so much.
  15. I have a 190 L&k Estate DSG which i have not towed with. My new caravan, Bailey Pegasus Rimini, is on order due 8th June delivery, I have had an after market tow bar and dedicated electrics fitted, re chiped ect. While normally driving without a caravan on the back I have the car set to individual, engine eco, suspension normal, steering normal, Now when towing i suspect eco. is not going to be right as the free wheel function could cause problems eg no engine braking. Would you suggest just putting it in sport, which would firm up the suspension and liven up the engine when towing and also provide engine braking, or do you use the gear box in manual mode when towing? any advice on your settings much appreciated
