  1. I suspect this behaviour is a "feature" of VAG cars. My Mk4 Octy does exactly the same thing - it seems to sometimes incorrectly attribute the speed limit of any parallel roads/roundabouts/bridges that you happen to be passing on the motorway at that time. It's almost as if the nav doesn't know your lateral position on the road. I did as Ccc1 suggested and turned off the speed limit/road layout ACC settings and it's been fine since then. Basically a case of having to make your "smart" ACC dumb to avoid being rear-ended. It was quite alarming when it first happened to me on a busy M4 just after I got the car.
  2. I'm not sure about a poll but people are more likely to post when they have a problem rather than when everything is working great so it could be there is a "silent majority" out there who've never experienced any issues. I acquired my Mk4 new in October 2023 and I haven't had any infotainment problems at all (so far). I would have to say it's probably up there as the best all-round car I've had in 30-odd years of vehicle ownership and I would definitely get another.
  3. If you install the MySkoda app onto your phone there's a "Car details" function which shows everything fitted to your individual car. I purchased my previous vehicle from Motorpoint, kept it for 3 years with no issues at all 🙂
  4. I also bought my car from stock without a spare and thought I would purchase the kit separately afterwards to save money. I scrabbled around to locate the boot insert, tools and second hand space-saver. It was quite a hassle and I probably spent around £180 which is not very much less than the dealer might charge you. I would definitely negotiate a spare wheel from the dealer in future.
  5. VW recommend Premium Unleaded for the Golf GTI though the fuel filler on my VRS indicates standard 95 is ok. I've been alternating between tankfuls of 95 and Tesco Momentum 99 or Shell V Power. I don't do that many miles at the moment but an extra 10p or more per litre would be a consideration if I did. Fuel Frequently Asked Questions | Volkswagen UK
  6. Nothing to make me regret purchasing my manual petrol RS Combi in October; still no physical climate controls just a bigger screen stuck on the dash and more nannying "safety" systems binging and bonging at you no doubt. The extra 20hp would be nice but nothing a potential future remap can't fix. 😃
