  1. Ok, this is not what you were thinking guys n gals, sorry to disappoint, but yes my car is giving me the come on almost every time I start up now.

I noticed a small use of coolant over a big trip a week ago 1800 miles, so much so that it took the level to just below the min line. At around the same time, the car started to steam the windscreen and side windows up immediately after starting, especially if SWMBO has left the heating g on!

Being an engineer I reckon there's a leak in the heater matrix and it's drawing water into the blower box. I noticed no use during the summer and wouldn't expect any as it required cool air to cool us down. The heating was rarely needed.

The coolant light came in for my wife today, but not for me an hour later. Maybe the way the car was angled, but the level was still just below the min line.

My question is this, can anyone recommend a good dealer in Wiltshire (or adjacent county), preferably between Bristol/Bath and Sailsbury? I have no knowledge of any of them so personal experiences would be very welcome.

Ps: anyone else had this problem?

Superb 2.0TDI 150 SEL Combi, 6,800 miles on the clock.

I've noticed quite excessive condensation a couple of times now. Once quite severely, only on the rear window, but the last time the windscreen and side windows too and also the plastic covering over the speedometer and rev counter, which took about 10 minutes to clear. I've never had a car do that before! Thank goodness for the heated windscreen, although that took a couple of minutes to clear on the max setting!

  2. 2 days of ownership and I'm getting unhappier by the hour.  April 2016 L&K

Speed limiter: Today I find a post that tells me adaptive cruise control removes it.  But prior to purchase two dealers tell me L&K has it. Handbook describes it but have to look in car to confirm control stalk is the ACC version and therefore "No". Sales brochures contain marketing weasel words apart from in "Factory Fitted Optional Equipment" where "Cruise control with speed limiter" is an option on the "S" and "Not available" for other models". I've had a speed limiter on nearly every car I've owned since 2000 I'm lucky to live in a rural area but there are lots of empty road 30mph limits with mobile cameras "enter 30mph, after two fields a farm, 5 more fields and a left hand bend, village now visible in distance but did you see the camera van on the left?" The ability to just press a "Limit" button to fix the max speed removes the need to keep looking at the speedo and concentrate on the road.

Sat Nav.  No trace of any TMC bulletins (press "Traffic" and "All" or "Route" options).  "TMC" is displayed over a thin red "/" - initially thought it was a logo. The manual states TMC cannot be switched off.  I've got DAB and FM reception (including Classic). Try Skoda support , "I'll ask Technical" "They wonder if the cars got it".  Ask if the dealer has to "register" a new car for services to be made available. No knowledge.  Dealer will ring back tomorrow. Find forum post that TMC isn't what it's cracked up to be compared to Garmin etc.

Android Auto: Dealer tries to connect my phone.  My phone refuses to connect (enables USB data link then closes the link). Told it must be my phone - a Google nexus 5 that is 100% pure Android.  Internet search provides the solution = Android's security refuses the connection because the car's "date and time" are set to "manual" -changed to "GPS" and it connects!

I've tried to find the exact specification the car - option codes on label.... etc. Do the codes only relate to "ordered" options and is there a way to get full specification? Is this just an issue with Skoda? - Looking at a new audi and the salesman could produce a detailed specification of the car - not the "packs" but the individual items - discovering that a standard rear view mirror was "just a mirror" and "add £120 for auto dipping" didn't close a deal.

If I knew what the car "has" I could search for potential VCDS coding solutions (speed limit via road traffic sign recognition?) and ask about what "Ross-Tech" kit to buy

I lost the TMC traffic alerts when I changed all my preset FM radio stations. Got it back by saving Classic FM as a preset once again.

  3. I've got the touch tone enabled on my Columbus unit and for the last 5 months it's been a pleasure to use. The last couple of mornings however when I set off for work it's been emitting a few irregular, random beeps as if someone had touched the screen. It even changed radio stations by itself. This all seems to settle down after about 15 minutes and it behaves itself for the rest of the day. Has anyone else experienced this, or got any ideas what's occurring? I had hoped after the first occasion it was one of those random software glitches that would never rear it's irritating head again, but now that's two days running i fear the worst!

  4. Hi all

I've had my Superb MkIII for just over a month now and I'm over the moon with her, she's everything I'd hoped/expected she'd be. I do need some advice though...

I ordered the heated windscreen option as I had an Escort Ghia with one a few years ago and it was bloody marvellous on a frosty morning. I remembered the minute filaments in the screen took a little bit of getting used to visually and when I ordered my Superb the only car in the showroom that had the heated screen was a Yeti and checking that, I could still see the filaments, albeit very faintly indeed.

The thing is, I can't see any evidence of the filaments in my Superb's screen at all. All the switches for a heated screen are present in the car, but in the absence of a frosty morning for the next few months I appear to have no way of checking I actually do have the heated screen. Is there some new screen heating technology being used for the Superb III, or has my vehicle been supplied without the option? Alternatively, should I be making an appointment with Specsavers?

Can anyone shed some light for me?

  5. Stainless pedals

Flat bottomed (perforated leather) vRS steering wheel

LED rear indicators (Philips X-treme Vision PY21W)

    LED reversing lights (80W CREE)

    LED front fog lights

    LED boot lights

    LED glovebox light

    iPad holder

Front and rear dash cams (Thinkware F750) (c/w a new switched power supply routed to the boot)

    Mudflaps

    Winter wheels & Nokian tyres

    GTechniq Crystal Serum detail

    Shark remap

Not to mention one or two VCDS changes  :D

With regards to the Stainless steel pedals, I've been toying with the idea of getting them. Are they available as an official Skoda accessory? If not, would my local Skoda dealer have a problem with fitting them for me? My mechanical expertise extends to opening the boot sadly!
