Sounds like a bargain if they can diagnose correctly. What like is the service waiting area, drinks and pastries?
How far away is the nearest Skoda or VW Group Main dealer?
This is the main dealer. No waiting area, not offered drink nor any food available. Maybe I’ve just been out the game too long, I thought this was extortionate but after looking round it seems to be the going rate… 🤯

Are these still for sale?

Have a look on Facebook for Tony Banks. Custom exhaust fabricator based up in Leeds. He’s done a few diesels which actually sound ok. Recently an Audi 2.0 (think same engine as Skoda?) which will give you a good idea of what to expect

If you don’t mind me asking how much did the exhaust cost? Looks good

Anyone opted for the service plan offered by the dealers? Got a 65 plate diesel VRS that’s just had its free second service and they’ve offered a service plan. Next 3 services (minor, major, minor) plus 2 MOT’s for £591.84 or £19 a month for 30 months. Not sure if good value for money and what it covers. Going to phone tomorrow and ask for discount but thought I’d see if anyone else has gone for it.

Yea had a hunter 4 wheel alignment after and everything perfect and tyre wear is no issue at all. All really even and nice and quiet
H&R quote 40mm for springs but in a VRS it lowers around 25mm it's a beautiful mod and well worth paying the extra for their springs.
I have 12mm spacers all round too
That looks great. Where abouts did you get the springs from?

This is the new tuning box supplied by DTUK for the MK3 Octavia VRS 2.0 Diesel. Purchased at the end of April this has really transformed the car. My personal favourite map being Map 1+2. Comes complete, boxed with instructions and original receipt showing that I paid £385.95. The support from the company is great (spent roughly an hour on the phone to them after buying it as they spoke me through the different map settings) and it even comes with the diagram showing how to plug it in and route the wires.

The website link shows the stats for the vehicle.
I've decided to go down a differen't route with the car and have the DPF removed and have it live mapped on the rollers to get the best gains, hence the reason for sale.
Any questions, photo requests don't hesitate to get in touch.

As was pointed out earlier, there is much more at stake for Skoda on this issue, hence, their reluctancy to admit a fault with the part.
There is this thing called a precedent and at this point, for them, it doesn't matter anymore if you are right or wrong - it is the consequences of admiting you are right that they are worried about and that they won't do unless ordered by a court.
Even then, I suspect you will get to court and they will settle there and put a gag on you as part of the deal.
I agree with what you're saying partly because once they agree to fix one there could be floods of cases however, now it's been proven to be a manufacturing defect independently isn't it time Skoda bit the bullet and held up their hands, admitted a mistake on their part and reimburse? I would have thought that would look a lot better for their image rather than drag it to court and have a judge decide?
Orville - Massive respect to you for taking it this far! Most people including me would have given up by now.

I've got one of these fitted to my manual vrs. Settled for map 1 + 2. I was a bit sceptical over it with regards to warranty issues and correct fitting. The support from the guys was superb. Must have spent about an hour on the phone to them asking various questions. Mines been on a month now, no issues

I trained for the Marines, had the entry requirements in terms of fitness easily achieved. But turned out to be a waste of 9 months or so due to failing at the first hurdle! Anyhow..
The Fire Brigade is definitely appealing but since writing the original post I have spoken to a few folk and it seems in general that, as you say, there is a serious 'waiting list' as it were!
I think the Mountain Rescue would be a good option to gain some experience and get an idea as to if it a paramedic is a job I want to pursue
I have been in touch with Sharkrider and he said pretty much the same thing. About how many vacancies there are cropping up left right and centre. That's worrying to say the least.
Sounds like a challenge that's for sure! I need to give First Response/St John's a go and see if it is something I want to go further into
Firstly thank you all for your posts and comments.
I am going to speak with a neighbour that is a First Responder and has been for a number of years. I'll have a good chat with him and pick at him with questions that are on my mind. If I still want to continue and go further then I can look into First Response training. My idea being that as the First Response route is voluntary I am not making a massive commitment and therefore if I decide it isn't for me, I can jump ship and go for something different.
The worrying information that I have been made aware of is the huge amount of paramedic vacancies.

Have you thought about the Air Force? I failed the Marine Training for having heart palpatations then went to the RAF. They had me and the training is a LOT easier than Marine training. Anyway you can sign yourself up as a combat medic or failing that any trade that takes your fancy. Once qualified you can volunteer for RAF Mountain Rescue team which you do full time whilst still earning your trade wages. I know a lot of guys that have done / do it and they love it.
