  1. One of the keys brings up the immobiliser warning on the dash and wont start the car, which sounds like the condition mentioned. The other key will start the car without issue, it's just the remote won't operate the central locking. I tired the method in the hand book and another one on the net where they state to put the kiy in the ignition after opening the locks, but no joy on either. It feels to me like the second one that does start the car, should be able to be made to work based on the handbook and YT tutorials, but not getting anywhere. Tried original battery and two different new batteries, red light flashes on the them all so as content as I can be that the battery is not the issue. This one is puzzling.
  2. Thanks all, the generic scanner did the job perfectly and identified a bad number 2 glow plug. Now replaced and code reset.
  3. I found this in the handbook, but didn't work. (Red light on key is flashing confirming new battery working).
  4. Thanks. Is this a dealer only process, or is it DIY with the right kit? If so, what would I need?
  5. Thanks all, I bought a cheap scan tool from Amazon which identified a failed number 2 glow plug. I replaced, erased the code and now all is well with the world. :)
  6. We lost a pair of keys and had to resort to using the 'third key' provided in the handbook pack. We bought a replacement key from an online vendor who came out, cut the key and programmed it for us and both keys work fine. We since found the missing keys which do now not work, despite having new batteries which I suspect is down to a coding change perhaps? I;ve tried to follow a couple of online youtube tutorials about how to re-code a key with lots of people saying thanks and that it worked, but either I'm doing something wrong or this doesn't apply to UK models? Please could someone provide a definitive guide on how to recover the coding in the two original keys we have now found? Thanks in advance.
  7. My Dad's 2017 Skoda Superb has an engine light that has come on and I'd like to be able to diagnose what it is. Do I need VCDS to do this? My only experience of Ross-Tech stuff was about 10 years ago when I downloaded some free Ross-Tech software, bought an eBay cable for not a lot of money and used it to program a Volkswagen Transporter van to accept cruise control. I recall at the time it was cheap, easy and took me about 20 mins from start to finish with some basic instructions. I naively tried to repeat this with the Superb but quickly discovered nothing was recognised, I'm guessing due to the type and age of the cavle, but who knows. What is the most cost effective way for me to find out what the engine light is for and either reset it or attend to the issue? Thanks in advance.
