  1. I had my 184 vRS remapped properly and it makes such a huge difference.

The garage that did the work use a rolling dyno so before the remap, they told me that it was producing 197bhp from the factory and 431Nm of torque - both figures being higher than quoted by Skoda as stock.

After the remap, it now produce 226bhp and 502 Nm of torque and it's the increase in torque that you really notice in all gears. Put your foot down in 6th at a relatively low speed and it just pulls like a train while the scenery flashes past!!

Even with the remap, I still average low to mid 50's mpg.

  3. Yea I get that, but what I mean is on the Octy Vrs 220ps petrol the car has two functional exhaust pipes. Whereas on the Octy Vrs Tdi 184ps one is blanked off? It there a mechanical reason for diesels not needing two exhausts as I could name numerous petrol vehicles with a similar bhp output as the diesel Vrs which come with twin exhausts.

Actually, the diesel does have twin pipes; it's just that they are both on the same side, as per the Golf rather than being split left and right as the petrol cars are.

  4. I bought these from LedPerf...........http://www.ledperf.co.uk/pack-interior-full-led-pure-white-for-skoda-octavia-3-5e-p-4942.html

You get the whole set of interior bulbs plus the mirror puddle lights for less than the price of just the puddle lights from Superskoda.

The puddle lights are really easy to fit but you need to be brave when taking the mirror housing apart but you do get an installation instruction CD as well. There is also the video on YouTube to show how to change these......https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rcNjrArG-KI&feature=youtu.be

Also, no warnings on the maxidot.

  5. Out of interest how much extra, if any, did your insurance want for the tinting as a mod.

When I looked it was basically cheaper to get sunset as I'd be charged on a reoccurring basis for a mod.

As it's a company car, the lease Co. we get them from had it done for me before I took delivery, so if it was going to be increasing the insurance, they wouldn't let me have it done.

  6. You must of picked the right time to travel, the only time I've known the M25 on the west side to be not like a car park is about 11pm on a sunday night  :envy: . Mind you with the variable speed limit it is jus about right to set the Cruise at err 70MPH and sit back and relax.

TBH, it was midday on a Wednesday and it was really empty. I know what you mean though as it took me 3 hours to get from Maidstone to Heathrow yesterday which I can normally do in an hour

  7. Had my vRS Diesel since 10th May and have covered 3.1k miles - average 51.2 MPG and I don't drive like a Nun either!

Most trips are to Northampton and back so nearly 300 miles round trip via M25 and M11, so ave speed approx. 60MPH.

Having said that, I went to a meeting at Heathrow last week and had plenty of time to get there so set the cruise at 70 MPH at returned an av 60 MPG!!.........

  8. JezzaS just have to put it out there - your car looks stunning! What I'd give to have mine as reflective..!

After seeing those pics I'm also tempted about making my sunset glass that little bit darker..

Thanks for the nice comments. I thought for a long time about colour and wheel combinations and wanted something that was not as "common" as race blue or white with the anthracite wheels but it makes the car look a bit more understated and harder to work out what it is, which is a good thing IMHO. So many boy racers have a good look and then realise what the car is before backing off LOL :D I should add that there is nothing wrong with white or race blue, in fact I like the car in both colours but you don't see many in quartz grey which is why I chose it in the end.

I also asked for no badges to be added during the build and so all I have are the vRS badges on the boot and front grill.

  9. Mine is a company lease as well so I have it for the next 4 years. So glad I added the roof as an option :sun: With the roof lining being a dark grey as well, it lightens the interior of the car loads. Had it wide open last couple of days :sun:  :sun:  :sun:

Can't post pictures yet so links to some photos I took today after giving it a really good wash......

  10. I only got mine on Tuesday but I am so glad I went for the Quartz Grey. It is quite rare as most vRS I have seen are either race blue or white. I even went for the optional Pictoris wheels to make it look a bit different.

Would love to post a pic but I can't for some reason??!
