  1. I've had this fixed twice from my dealer - they pulled it all out and lubricated it and it has fixed the issue now.
  2. Anyone know if the new KESSY key with the motion sensor in it will work with the current model? I have a MY17, and I’d love to have a new key which addresses the most obvious flaw in the keyless systems, because while I *mostly* remember to put my key away in a little metal box I have to prevent issues, I sometimes forget..
  3. It’s more about when my partner drives my car actually. He has a Mazda which beeps and is very used to it, and is less attentive to the flashing light than I am.
  4. Anyone seen any guides on enabling an audible warning for blind spot monitoring, or to “shake the wheel” when trying to change lanes when an obstacle is detected in the blind spot like it does when the active lane guidance is running?
  5. A lot of you probably don’t have quite the same experience at high heat as I do but then Europe has had a few heatwaves too so maybe.. i started to notice last summer that I think the engine sounds slightly different in hot weather than cold - right from when I start the car. I’ve also noticed recently though that the DSG seems to hang onto gears longer when it’s hot. Today it was 47c where I live and I noticed the car hanging onto 3rd gear at 60kph, just shifting to 4h when I get to about 61 and ease off the throttle, and it sticks in 4th then when I drop back to 60. When the weather is cooler, it would normally be a gear higher. Anyone know of a logical reason for this behaviour or should I talk to the dealership?
  6. I'll put money on the indicators now being dynamic front & rear (a trend I can't stand.. I wouldn't mind if you could set them to nomal, but its just so damn gimmicky to me).
  7. Ok, hopefully someone smarter than me can answer this question with VCDS... i've been trying to set my car so that Comfort open from my Kessy key opens the sunroof instead of tilting it. I followed this instructions: 9 Central Electronics Security code 31347 10 Adaptations ( Channel (10) - Zugangskontrolle 2 - SAD Richtung Komfortöffnen auswählen) or (Access control select comfort opening direction). Select SAD direction convenience opening - channel (10) - Access control 2 Put value on open. (and tilting). ...and nope, still tilts. So I chalked it up to another one of those things that didn't work. Then, the other day I already had the sunroof open but wanted to lower the windows from the key and it the sunroof stayed in the open position rather than moving to tilt which is what it used to do in that circumstance. So obviously what I did made *some* difference, just not quite the full difference I was looking for. Also, i keep asking in the vain hope that someone will crack it... anyone know how to enable the courtesy lights under the mirror when reversing? It must be possible somehow... would it just be a matter of Ross-Tech having not mapped the right bits of software? Do they take suggestions at all to anyones knowledge?
  8. Finally had the ridiculously annoying rattle from my sunroof fixed... the culprit? A loose clip on the sunroof blind and they agreed with me that it sounded super annoying and they were glad they could sort it for me - even though it did mean for them pulling out all the headlining to get to it.As they handed back the keys to me though the lady said to me "I'm bet you glad you got it fixed now that you're at 14,700km - the Skoda rattle warranty is 15,000 km".Wait what?? Skoda rattle warranty? So after this I'm on my own? Yikes.Be warned everyone- keep your ears pealed and get anything at annoys you looked at early because you might not get a chance later....
  9. This is why I'm glad that the Aus Spec models wend with the brushed aluminium trim look panels for the dash rather than piano black.... I like the look of the black but its impossible to keep scratch free! Mine has the piano black around the Transmission selector (the LEAST practical place for it) and it does already have a couple of scratches that bugs me...
  10. I am not sure if I have already asked this, so apologies if I have but I did check my post history and couldn't find it... Has anyone looked into the possibility of activating the puddle lights under the rear vision mirrors when in reverse? I'd love for them to come on so I can see the kerb when reversing in the dark. I know Beemers and Mercs activate the courtesy lights under the handles for this reason and I think its a great idea.
  11. The pedal box is magic! Best money you can spend on your car IMO.
  12. It does cut the engine a second or two before stopping. The steering feels like it 'locks' but its just the assistance cutting out - you can still steer its just stiffer and if you do yank the wheel around the engine will restart. It is slightly disconcerting at first but you'll get used to it. Or you can deactivate the start/stop system which will prevent it from happening
  13. I can't really remember noticing much difference in idle speed when it's hot, though it wouldn't really surprise me terribly either. 30° though is a pretty mild summers day here though... may not even have the a/c running ;-p lol.
