Petrol 1.6fsi fuel regulator error what options to fix
raf300 replied to raf300's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
This week I tested all grounding points I could find as the latest error was fuel regulator short to ground. all grounding points tested ok and gave the same reading as the battery (12.10v) any suggestions on what check or change? I have read a lot of posts where owners have changed fuel pumps and a lot of sensors but it still didn’t cure the problem. Car still runs, except it is using a lot more fuel (15% to 20% approx) and occasionally is lumpy on hard acceleration. -

Did you solve the problem? I have had this error come on occasionally but the main error for my Skoda is fuel regulator valve low circuit or short to ground. I have checked the grounding points I could see and all test fine (12.10v like the battery ) -

Petrol 1.6fsi fuel regulator error what options to fix
raf300 replied to raf300's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
I have had a look at the fuel pump and I can’t find the fuel sensor. there is a sensor on the pump but the other rail sensor isn’t located in the same place as other fsi engines, usually to the left of the pump. my engine is the BLF and I think might be under the manifold I am going to have to get the garage to have a look and recommend what options to try and fix the error code and excess fuel consumption. picture of the BLF engine 1.6fsi -
Right price? 2009 Skoda Octavia 2.0T FSI vRS
raf300 replied to BRdLSR's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
I don’t know about what mods that car has. To me car looks good from the photos and with my Octavia I like cruise control, rear sensor and auto wipers/lights are so handy. my only question would be is the engine belt driven or chain? If it is belt, when were they last changed as you might need to do then sooner than later. I am not sure how much it would cost to do but I expect all belts and tensioners to be expensive so budget £500. Other On here might know more and have better advice -
Did you fix this and what was it? was it the fuel sensor?

My 1.6fsi had the EPC and emissions warning come on. I bought a basic VAG reader (ancel vd500), the error codes were 08854 fuel pressure regulator control B control circuit high 08851 Fuel pressure regulator B performance The car idles a bit rough and occasionally when accelerating hard, the car can fill chocked and not smooth. also there is occasionally an external smell of excess fuel Any ideas on what to change/fix first? Is it the fuel regulator or fuel sensor? I saw a video where a mechanic said the mini container bucket under the fuel pump can corrode (solid bottom disintegrates), this affects the fuel pump performance.

Fault codes from TRW on 1.6FSI
raf300 replied to raf300's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
I have seen online a trick of opening the ERG from the top to check if the cog is worn, so I will give that a go. any other advice most welcomed 👍 -
Parking sensors not working correctly
raf300 replied to Jake06octy's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Good reply above. I had similar problems where y my rear parking sensor only work when the weather is very hot. Which could suggest a connection issue is not strong enough -
Hi all I have been having issues this week with my Octavia 1.6FSI the EPC and exhaust emission system lights came on. then disappeared the next day. Then reappeared a week later. I took it to my local garage who only had a TRW code reader. They read the codes which was P2293 and P0404 They said the closest match on the TRW reader was Volvo to read the codes, but they advised to go to a proper electrical garage. Are these codes reliable or should I find a garage that can plug in Skodas? Looking at the codes online they refer to ERG (p0404) and fuel pressure regulator (p2293) any advice on what I should do next? can I rely on these codes and start to plan a fix or find someone with the correct reader first. many thanks

Next best engine Skoda to get after 1.6 FSI
raf300 replied to raf300's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Thanks both for the recommendation. My current 1.6FSI L&K has been reliable even though it is not the smoothest engine especial when idle. It has been adequate for my family needs, town driving and long motorway journey. At times I wished it had a bit more power but it has been ok. I have appreciated the rear parking sensors and cruise control on the FSI and the wife likes the heated seats. So a must is at least rear parking sensors and cruise control. Town mpg can be anything from 25mpg to 33mpg, with motorway around 42mpg to 49mpg. It sounds like the 1.4tsi could be a good replacement. I do plan on going for the mk3 and budget wise not sure but at least £5k, all depends what’s available at the time. Btw is the 1.4tsi chain or belt? Any pros or cons to either? Also what is the tfsi, is that the same engine with a turbo or not ? -
Unfortunately my beloved Skoda estate L&K 1.6 FSI 06 was in an accident. Everyone is safe and no one hurt. However the car is deemed uneconomical to repair. Still road worthy but looks like I need to buy a newer car at some point. I am thinking to stick with the Octavia Estate as it fits our needs and the spacious boot has always been fantastic. I need advice on what are the most reliable engines that came after the FSI? I know some Skoda driver were not keen on the FSI as it wasn’t powerful but my car has been ultra reliable and the power has been just enough for my day to day needs. So what should I be looking at next? TSI or TFSI , I have not done much research but starting to. I think the later engines are all belts and not chain. Thanks

Car alternator or voltage regulator?!
raf300 replied to RustyHill's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
I am no expert as I have been researching alternator issues. what happen checking the ground wire of alternator and that sort of thing? I would expect garage May have checked it but worth asking maybe. Others on forum may know more. -
Hi all Yesterday evening whilst driving, the battery light indicator flashed on twice on a 55minute 35 mile trip. The flash was about 10mins apart. The weather has been really wet the last 3 days constant rain, but stopped that late afternoon. The first time it flashed on I doubted myself in whether I saw it come on. My first thought was whether the attenuator was about to fail leaving us stranded waiting for the breakdown service. I then kept a close eye on the battery indicator and it flashed on once more. I noticed it flashed on when changing up to fifth gear and the revs dropping. I then thought is the car stalling whilst changing gear. But the other indicator (EPC) didn’t come on. Once we got to our destination all was ok with the car, perhaps it was idling a little rougher than usual but maybe it was mind thinking what could be wrong with the car. On the way home car was fine no battery indicator flashing on. Any ideas what could be wrong? Alternator belt slipping? ( I had tensioner, pully and bent replaced 2 years ago) Alternator on its way out? (however I thought they would fail not deteriorate) Many Thanks
