Octavia mk2 1.6 fsi starter motor bendix always engaged
Hi all My Skoda 1.6 fsi 2006 petrol has an issue with the starter motor. It could be mechanical or electrical and I need any advice you can give m. Today I noticed a horrible grinding noise after start up. After researching the problem I discovered it is the bendix either staying jammed out against the flywheel or not retracting once the car has started. Does anyone know how to find all the relays? The only relays found was in the engine bay (no 100) The Skoda manual only has fuse locations. Anyone have advice on what else to test as the problem could be electrical. Many thanks in advance

Skoda 1.6 FSI 2006 rattle knock timing chain or S belt pulleys?
Thanks for the information It is a difficult sound to explain, it is almost like a continous zip being pulled closed. I was thinking could be timing chain as it is an FSI engine? Or could it be the tappets like in the old days but that is more of a constant sound.

1.6 FSI BLF engine Lambda sensor removal
Hi All I assume the lambda sensor is at the front of the engine (pre cat). Is this correct, as some Octavia models have the lambda underneath the car. Also how do I unclip the sensor? Is it by unclipping the plug to the right of the sensor plug? Thanks

Skoda 1.6 FSI 2006 rattle knock timing chain or S belt pulleys?
I noticed an intermittent rattle, that comes and goes whilst the car is idling or driving. I have searched the forums and YouTube and it could be the timing chain or a pulley on the S belt. Anyone know for sure or experienced this before? Short 60 second clip of engine rattle

I think I have a problem with sun roof drain pipe. I discovered a lot of water in the driver footwell. I dried the carpet and pour water in the sunroof trap to test it, and the footwell was wet again. Water is not coming out of the water pipe outlet? (See picture) so i assume the drain pipe is not connected. Does anyone know how do I get to the inside of the drain pipe connector? Is access from the wheel arch? Or elsewhere ?

Fuel pressure regulator valve (n276), fuel pump or something else?
Hi all I have an Octavia 1.6fsi 2006. It has been a great car with minimal issues until this year. The exhaust warning and EPC both came on a few months ago. With a cheap ODB reader, it pointed towards fuel pressure regulator 08853 error. The car was running, but would run lumpy at times and fuel efficiency was down. I could smell excess fuel sometimes from the exhaust. I bought a used HPFP and cam follower. The original cam follower was not worn through but I replaced it and put in the used HPFP. The car ran better and fuel efficiency had improved. However the exhaust and EPC lights were still on with N276 error still occurring. Car was fine for a few months but on the motorway last week, the car lost all power, accelerator did nothing, so I carefully pulled over. Car was spluttering. I turned it off, waited a few minutes then turned it back on and everything seemed ok and I continued on slowly to get home. I have now had the car scanned with VCDS. 6 faults were found, pictures below. The main one being 000853 - Fuel Pressure regulator valve (n276), p2295 - 002- short to ground - MIL ON All faults were cleared then the Car restarted, the n276 short to ground fault came back. The engineer checked the wiring and found f23 15A fuse blown. This was replaced. Cleared faults, restarted car. N276 fuel pressure regulator reappeared but now says Short to Plus. (Picture below) Engineer thinks the used HPFP also has a faulty fuel pressure regulator, as it has to be the most likely reason for the fault to still appear. We checked my original HPFP by plugging it in and the same error appeared. I suppose it is bad luck that the used HFPF has the same problem. I may have to just buy a new fuel pump which is around £300 but if it doesn’t solve the problem, then the new fuel pump was not needed. Has anyone got any other advice or anything else to check? Is there a way to test the Fuel pressure regulator with a multimeter somehow?

Reason for engine misfire?
Anyone got an update on this? my 1.6 fsi lost power today on the motorway cruising at about 65mph. Accelerator pedal didn’t work, I managed to pull over safely. With the car idle, it sounded rough. I turned it off and waited a few minutes. Turned car back on and it seemed ok. I continued on and it didn’t happen again. I will look to get it plugged in, to see if there are any codes

Petrol 1.6fsi fuel regulator error what options to fix
An update for anyone who has the same issue in future I replaced the fuel pump this weekend. A straightforward job if you have the correct tools like size 14 fixed head spanner, jubilee/retainer clip clamp to remove clip safely and socket set. Took me 1hr15min, with a few stop starts and videoing some of it. In terms of results, car feels better and not lumpy however not driven it for long enough. Also mpg seems higher but again I need more days to check this properly the EPC error code 8854, fuel regular circuit high is still on. my next step will be cleaning the throttle body with throttle cleaner.

Petrol 1.6fsi fuel regulator error what options to fix
This week I tested all grounding points I could find as the latest error was fuel regulator short to ground. all grounding points tested ok and gave the same reading as the battery (12.10v) any suggestions on what check or change? I have read a lot of posts where owners have changed fuel pumps and a lot of sensors but it still didn’t cure the problem. Car still runs, except it is using a lot more fuel (15% to 20% approx) and occasionally is lumpy on hard acceleration.

Did you solve the problem? I have had this error come on occasionally but the main error for my Skoda is fuel regulator valve low circuit or short to ground. I have checked the grounding points I could see and all test fine (12.10v like the battery )

Hi all stick not fully sorted. plugs, air filter and fuel filter changed. car more responsive but I have still epc and emission error, with the main error being fuel regulator anyone know if the fuel regulator is part of the fuel pump on the 1.6 FSI? any help much appreciated

I have had a look at the fuel pump and I can’t find the fuel sensor. there is a sensor on the pump but the other rail sensor isn’t located in the same place as other fsi engines, usually to the left of the pump. my engine is the BLF and I think might be under the manifold I am going to have to get the garage to have a look and recommend what options to try and fix the error code and excess fuel consumption. picture of the BLF engine 1.6fsi

Right price? 2009 Skoda Octavia 2.0T FSI vRS
I don’t know about what mods that car has. To me car looks good from the photos and with my Octavia I like cruise control, rear sensor and auto wipers/lights are so handy. my only question would be is the engine belt driven or chain? If it is belt, when were they last changed as you might need to do then sooner than later. I am not sure how much it would cost to do but I expect all belts and tensioners to be expensive so budget £500. Other On here might know more and have better advice

Did you fix this and what was it? was it the fuel sensor?
