Haven't sussed if this happens every time but I notice that if the radio is on DAB it mutes on the hour and requires changing stations back and forth to get volume back. Is this a well known problem?

Having lived and worked amongst elderly people I was correct in saying he is talking rubbish, (offensive rubbish too), with the betting thread I now realise he is just a troll and not worthy.
-
No offence but you do write some rubbish, unless of course your idea of the elderly is anyone over the age of thirty.

The 220ps experiences, questions & answers thread
Oldgits replied to Rainmaker's topic in Skoda Superb Mk III (2015 - 2023)
I've just taken my 220 on its first proper run out doing a round trip all motorway of about 200 miles. Up until now I had been running in the engine as per Rainmakers suggestions (thanks) so hadn't seen any great mpg returns. Yesterday's run was mainly in patchy fog so my slow bro style was perfectly suited to the conditions. Used the acc for the first time, unnerving initially but soon began to enjoy the experience, very impressed with how the engine picks up as soon as you indicate to change lane. Using 97 fuel and running at a steady 65mph I managed 45.2npg which impressed me. Is the alert to "take a break" something that happens automatically after 90 minutes of driving? -
Fancy an immediate 10% return on your money?
Oldgits replied to SkodaVRS1963's topic in Off Topic Chat
He got the odds all wrong anyway (I use to work in a bookies) 11/10 would give you a far greater return for £5k than a measly £500......had they won at those odds, a profit of £5,500, I suspect he meant ten to one on. (1/10). Either way he's out of pocket to the tune of £5k. The title of this thread looks somewhat inappropriate. -
Debadged mine a few weeks ago, had a heat gun at the ready but didn't need it, just used a sawing action with fishing line. Then softened remaining adhesive with tar remover and used finger nails to peel it off.

I assume you mean the Sky Q "mini box" doesn't require a dish because the main hub sure does.

I've just recently bought a Canton Sound base to compliment my new Oled TV (DM55 from Richer Sounds), it looks stunning, and for a one box set up the sound is pretty impressive too. The brand matches my new Skoda too.

Really happy for you. It has been reported on this forum that this is an issue on the odd occasion but to have the dealer confirm these were all removed is inexcusable. I'd be asking for some goodwill for the grief they've put you through and if they don't come up with the goods a phone call to Skoda Uk is in order, (speak to Kate Laws, she's vey helpful).

Broker orders cancelled by Skoda UK
Oldgits replied to Luke997's topic in Skoda Superb Mk III (2015 - 2023)
Not sure we will ever know the truth of the matter, all that distress for many prospective customers only for NCD to halt the sale of Superbs for a few weeks albeit they went back on sale with a reduced discount. I done alright out of it with a package worth nearly £1k as a gesture of goodwill from SUK. The joke of it is, Simpsons will most probably have trouble shifting so many of these cancelled orders and end up selling for a similar discount to what NCD originally offered. -
I'm sure when reading various reviews for the MK3 before deciding whether to buy one that the car excelled in so many ways but if you were looking for a "drivers" car, this may not be the one for you. As a chauffeur of some thirty years having driven some very prestigious cars I find my new Estate an amazing car, given to someone else to drive they may take a different view.

Best interior valet cleaning spray/product?
Oldgits replied to Wench's topic in Styling and Car Care
Any decent APC should do the trick. -
Apart from the negatives you've described, do you like the car in every other way? I only ask because it seems such a shame to possibly take a substantial financial loss on such a new acquisition. Would it be worth investing in a different set of tyres to see if that improves the ride? Granted it's going to cost you £600 approx but maybe pay off ultimately?

Lol, I'm not "frustrated", just curious as to how you intend launching a new venture you cannot find a name for.
-
I had intended to do it myself but the dealership fitted it for me.

If this thread carries on much longer....."Indecisive detail".

Picked mine up on Tuesday, after all the doubts I'm pleased I went with moon.
-
Mine sat in Emden for ten days, I wonder if there's a pecking order between the various marques?
-
Picked up my new Superb on Tuesday, debadged completely yesterday, used fishing line (8lb bs, I'm an angler), heat gun, tardis and a bit of polish. The only badges that remain are the circular Skoda Emblem, seen some carbon options....can't decide on them.

Surprisingly low Insurance for SEL Estate
Oldgits replied to TabletSurfer's topic in Skoda Superb Mk III (2015 - 2023)
Pleasantly surprised too, going from my 1.5 Clio to the 2.0 TSI £31k) made little difference to my premium. -
After the bitter disappointment when my NCD order was cancelled, starting over again directly with a dealership, the car has finally arrived, well worth the wait, looks stunning and drives well too. 2.0L TSI 220 DSG Moon white/brown leather

Octavia UK shipping route
Oldgits replied to LemonLime's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
From what I've seen it seems to be two ships doing a lot of the ferrying, The African Highway mainly does the Grimsby run and the Gran Canaria mainly in and out of Sheerness. I've become a bit of a ship spotter in recent weeks and am able to see them passing by my home town of Whistable as they enter Sheerness.
