Quick picture of the wheels fitted. My springs arrive today as well so will lower it when I get a chance.  I would definitely recommend 19s now as had 18" Geminis on before these. No noticeable difference whilst driving. Will get some decent pics when I get time.

    Looks Awesome!!!! :)

Anyone coming from an early MkII vRS (PD170) will have reason to be cautious over DPF's.

On the MkIII you will be fine.

We got shot of our 2007 PD170 vRS just before the issues started appearing - thank god!

That's a shame I ran my 57 plate PD VRS TDI for nearly 100,000 miles and 9 years with only a faulty DPF sensor apart from that it was flawless!

I've now done nearly 7000 miles in her big sister and I've only noticed a regen once when I turned the car off and the fans were still running. Just drive it that's all I do without even considering the DPF or regens!

Thanks jock think I will stick with the meteor, black pack+,19 extremes, and petroleum.i have a choice  of petrol or 4x4 diesel but have to pay for my own fuel 8000 miles per year.have to order on Monday,so that's it boom!! Decided....

I have to pay for my car and the fuel as it's my own! :)

S6jokf sorry I think I have sent you a half finished message. How do you find the diesel 4x4 as a alround package? Performance, mpg grip ect wise? I am tempted by the petrol but worried after a while the mpg may start getting to me. I have not had petrol in 12years!! Ha every time I see your car I change my colour to red lol.im at the decision stage and to be honest I just wanting to get the car ordered as it's starting to do my head in!! Many thanks paul

Hi Paul, I do rate the car very highly as an overall package. Performance is good for a 184bhp diesel, plenty of torque and with the grip of the 4x4 it's definitely a lot quicker of the mark than my previous Mk2 diesel VRS. No more wheel spin judder just grip and go! I don't drive like miss daisy and usually average between high 30's to low/mid 40's. With passengers mid to high 40's. I've not tried a max mpg run yet. It's certainly a  lot more now than when straight out of the box as I was high 20's low 30's. I do lots of miles commuting and I also tow a large caravan so petrol was not in the equation. I've done 7000 in 4 months. I do think if I wasn't towing and covering such high mileage I would be driving petrol though! Not sure if you can order a diesel 4x4 again yet? It's a nice decision to have and only you know what's right for you. Keep me posted! Jok

I have got to say I wish the 2107 vrs had updated the wheels, but it was not to be. I have decided on dsg estate petrol in meteor with black pack, now as the new model comes with privacy glass as standard do I go black pack with the 18inch wheels? Or for an extra £500 and odd extra for the 19inch wheels.you also get the corner lights, which tobut to be honest I don't like.this is the last piece of my jigsaw.any thoughts again welcome

19's all the way for me, i debated this myself for long and weary then plummeted for the 19's! You'll not be dissapointed, they are also easy to clean as you can squeeze your hand through the holes and clean the inside of the wheel too!

    My mini 10", XR3i 14", Golf GTI MK2 16V 15", Mini Cooper S 17", Honda Civic Type R 18", Octavia VRS MK2 18" and presently VRS 4x4 combi 19"s it's logical progression :D

    I'm not even biased!!!

Is there any way to force the box to change to 6th when in Sport on the motorway. Using paddles only changes it for a short time then it reverts to 5th. Can obviously take it out of sport on the gear lever. Have I missed something?

Or select manual mode then use the paddles!

I am not sure if sloshing is caused by over filling or not..I am pritty new with Skoda.

All the other people here who can listen the sloshing did they fill the tank over (continue tried to fill after the cut off) in some point. So may be if we can establish that there is in expension tank which meant to be empty and if we over fill, the fuel goes in there which causes sloshing noise then admin can put it as sticky post for the other people as precaution. Everybody please share this info with us..like what is your car? Can you here sloshing noise? Since when and did over fill caused it?

Having done 5500 miles since mid November and always fill the tank past the first click I have never once noticed any sloshing yet. I'll keep my ears peeled.

So is your MTPLP 1525kg, only found that from a quick search thou so over the 85%?

We have Swift Alloutte which is basically a 2016 Sprite Quattro EW which was MTPLP 1615kg now higher 1800kg not that this make us load any more into it so still within the vehicles spec but way over the 85%.

Going to do some sort weekend trips first see how she goes!

Not it bothered me before as we have always had two cars, something economical for the misses and something that interests me which was an A6 3.0 last but now we have just the one car. My B7 A4 was always good at towing our Elddis 515 at 1500kg and the Audi was only slightly heavier than the Octavia so fingers crossed.

Yes mine is over the 85% recommended too, MTPLP 1510kg.

I was pleased with the towing capabilities although I did have a little snaking when I was on an exposed section of motorway on a windy day travelling at 62mph, I just eased back on the speed to mid 50's and she was fine.

Your van is heavier but i'm sure she'll tow fine.

So far so good but only 300 mile so far.

What caravan you got? Bit nervous about ours as it's over the 85% recommendation.

What site are you using to outfit match? I'm sure the kerb weight of the car is 1572kg but i've been wrong before!!!

On the towcarinfo site it has the kerb weight as 1488kg but you can amend this at the bottom of the page.

I try to ensure the car is well loaded and not run the caravan at full payload too!

A bit off-topic, but my colleague got a brand new Golf GTE and first thing she did was apply a ceramic coating to it. She now regrets it...

It does look great and it is easier to clean but... for instance here in Finland there are loads of stones flying around and when these hit the ceramic coat they either crack or scratch it, and as you must know, ceramic coats are not so easy to repair/correct.

i was very near to have it done (cause white car...) and then decided against it based on her feedback.

My detailer did explain this to me and recommended that I should have a softer more pliable coating for the at risk areas from stone chips and a harder compound for the rest of the car. I was guided by his 30+ years of detailing and agreed with his recommendations!

    Fingers crossed, time will tell!

No you get a kinda launch control when you slow down after being in cruise control at say a roundabout and as you exit the roundabout hit "continue" on cruise control and it will zip up through the DSG gears in D or S mode to previously set cruise speed.   ;<)

You're all right - playing about today and yes a light press on the brakes and the car wants to creep but is just held engine revs at 1000ish. Firm press and the clutches disengage and revs drop to 750ish.

Playing about in Tesco's car park today I noticed that when idling in neutral if accelerator is pressed fully engine revs don't go above 2,500. Is this the "launch control" that I've read about?

I'm just back from testing the Launch Control of my VRS Combi DSG 4x4 in the dead of night on quiet roads.

Disengaged Traction Control and Stop Start, Sport setting selected foot to the floor both Throttle and Brake, Release Brake and she takes off like a Bat out of Hell!!!

Even the gear changes seemed slicker than normal too!

    Anyone else tried this?

Car still at dealer. They haven't been able to sort it and to make things worse the Master Tech who has been working on my car has gone to Portugal for the Kodiaq launch. That means it's just sat there unable to be driven and no more work will be done to it until Wednesday when he's back!

The dealer is still trying to source a replacement for me. So far all that's available is a Rallye Green 4x4 VRS estate.

I'm not sure about the colour.........?

Personally I would leave it with the dealer until they source you another car!

I personally like the Rallye Green, I would definitely take it and move on leave them with the junk one!

It's sounds like you've just been unlucky, thankfully i've not heard any other horror stories about the 4x4 VRS, I love mine!!!
