  1. Hi there I have voluntarily terminated my pcp on my 63 plate Citigo Sport and have been given the 11th of Jan as my hand back date, the front tyres are a little close to the legal limit and the MOT is due at the end of Jan, I just wondered how picky the driver is when he picks up the car and checks it over, the car is perfect other than that. I do not want to be given a hefty bill on the day so just wondered if anyone has gone through this process and can advise.

  2. Hi there I purchased a new 1.2 Yeti Elegance about a month ago and all has been good but yesterday I went over a very narrow speed bump with the front wheels and I thought I heard a bang when it bottomed out. The car has been good ever since but I am now worried that the transit clamps may have been left in, can anyone tell me what I need to look for, there seems to be a black castellated ring at the bottom of the strut that the plastic corrugated cover fits over but I can't really see anything else, any help would be gratefully recieved.

  3. Hi there, I bought some Audi type alloys and fitted them to my Octavia which had standard alloys. The original wheels were 16in and the new ones are 18in but fitted with lower profile tyres so they fit ok. Where the bolts fit they have numerous holes so they presumably fit different vehicles, unfortunately when I drive about 3-4 miles the bolts come loose, any ideas anyone? I used my original wheel bolts.

  4. If your mainly lowering for looks then the JOM coilovers are a great option and excellent value for money. Yes they quality isn't as good as the more expensive kits but the price is a lot less and they also come with 2 years warranty.

All depends what you want from the kit and also what your budget is.

Thanks for your help Damian, yes I am on a budget really only want them for looks, do you know if there is a fitting guide on the forums and could you quote me a price please, cheers Martyn.

  5. lowering with just springs on standard dampers may not give you the best outcome in terms of the ride quality - gettting some matched springs and dampers may be a better solution. there are lots of options out there - check out dpm and the other site sponsors to see what your choices are.

to save you searching, here's the dpm page: http://www.dpmperformance.co.uk/skoda-octavia-1z-06-c-1929_1947.html

coilovers will give you the maximum flexibility in ride height as they are adjustable.

i had some eibach springs fitted just after i got my car - lowers around 20mm - now have some weitec coilovers that can be set anywhere from stock ride height to -40mm.

thanks for your help, I went on the dpmperformance website and found their cheap coilovers JOM I think, does anyone have any experience of these? I am not intending to use these for performance, just to enhance the look of the car. i don't have any photos as yet but will try to get some this weekend

  6. A big thanks to Cheryl at Shark and the others on the forum, I phoned yesterday and paid my money can't wait to get mine done, thanks again. P.S Is there anything I need to do to the engine before the remap, I have an Octavia 1.9 tdi 57 reg. I know this is on the wrong thread but just querying, cheers.
