The Superb II & FL Picture thread
Mcturk replied to Leon-y-k's topic in Skoda Superb Mk II (2008-2015)
@SuperbRaj09 Thats the sound of the power window mechanism failing. The cable lines gets tangled on the electric motor and then window wont go up or down at some point. Replace the whole mechanism as soon as possible, it costs arround 70€. Dont ask me how I know, the same thing happened on my sisters Superb. -

Its recomended that you do, there wont be any problems if you dont, but you alredy have to remove the old belt to change the pump, and the belt isnt that expensive, so you might change that while you are at it, so you dont pay twice for the same job. Oh and and I ment serpentine belt, your engine has a timing chain and not timing belt, sorry for mesleading you. -

Its a common problem on 1.8 tsi engines, water pump tends to leak at relatively low mileage. Get it replaced with a new one and also change the timing belt, and you are good for next 150kkm. -

❄️Its been a little bit wintery lately in Slovenia and finally had the chance to try out the new winter tires ❄️ -
its on the limit, but still clears it, manufacturer leaves a very high safety clearance. And forgot to mention my car has optional rough road package, so it sits 15mm higher, on a standard suspension it probably wouldt fit.

I know its an old topic, but as winter is near I did a little test. 12mm chains on a 225/45 R17 tire 7J wide rims and ET49, its clears the shock absorber by cca 5-7mm 😎 p.s. sory for the bad picture off clearance, its hard to fit the phone back there 😂

Does it display parkassist and climate control, like columbus and amudsen does, or does it lose this function? 😀

2010 Superb estate “restoration”
Mcturk replied to Chris300's topic in Skoda Superb Mk II (2008-2015)
Nice Superb mate! As for the brakes, its a fairly easy job if you have done this before, its practicaly the same as on a Golf, only "special" tool you will need is a caliper wind back tool and a M14 triple square bit. -

@Adamos20 No they are both on 18s, but my twindoor is on suspension for rough roads, that is why it seats so high and the ground isn`t level -

They are indentical to the front ones, as mentioned in posts above. That is weird that yours doesnt have those my 2012 Elegance and my sisters 2012 Ambition all have them. -
6 speed manual syntetic gearbox oil
Mcturk replied to djordje48's topic in Skoda Superb Mk II (2008-2015)
When I changed oil in my 6 speed, I also put this oil that you posted a link of. But i think it was a lot cheaper in the local autoparts store, it was around 15€ per litre, and you need 2,4 litres of it for the gearbox. -

My Superb on "Alaris" 18 inch rims from Octavia 3. I know its a little high because of suspension for bad roads. -
I would recomend Textar pads and discs, I fitted them to the rear of my Superb and to cuple of my previus cars and they worked fine.
