For a similar comparison, my Dad sold his 66 plate vRS diesel hatch today to Arnold Clarke. Standard car with 16k on the clock, 3 kerbed wheels and a little bit of damage to the bottom of the front bumper from a kerb. Only options from new were black pack and spare wheel, he got a tenner off of £14k. -

Do I or don't I Car swap to an Audi

I was worried about the the pedal offset but it turned out to be a non issue for me. Spending years driving 205's, Renault 5's and metro's more than likely helped, they all had weird pedal offsets and the metro had a terrible steering wheel offset but quickly got used to it. -

I'm well aware of the issues regarding high oil consumption. The car I bought was a 1 owner, full Audi history car that had the engine rebuilt and tensioner replaced by Guildford Audi in 2015 under warranty. As you can see from my list of requirements. I was extremely fussy in the car I wanted to buy, it was a needle in a haystack car, luckily it ended up being 40 miles away. -

I've recently changed from a 13 Octavia vRS diesel hatch to an 11 Audi A4 Avant 2.0 tfsi S-Line. No where near the sort of money your looking at laying down but I can't justify spending big money on a car the wife plods to work and back in, plus I have all the performance I need on 2 wheels. When I first started looking at changing my diesel due to a big fall in mileage, I wanted a Octavia vRS petrol estate but 10k doesn't buy you a Mk3 and mk2 felt like to much of a backwards step, as I couldn't find a fully loaded one. I popped my search criteria into auto trader and didn't get very many hits. It needed to be Petrol Estate Manual Under 8 years old 0-60 in less than 8 seconds Under 80k miles Front and rear parking sensors Leather seats Factory Nav Cruise control Auto lights and wipers Xenons And less than £10k. I've just run that same search and it only returns 22 nationally. Audi (2)Ford (3)MINI (11) SEAT (2)SKODA (3)Vauxhall (1) The Audi was the only logical choice. It ticks all the boxes. I did nearly steer towards a Seat Leon FR but even a car that was 3-4 years younger than my Audi with half the miles didn't seem to wear nearly as well as I would've hoped. It just felt like a slightly worse vRS. -
This is just for you before you explode with all that emotional baggage and rage about the snowflake generation you're clearly carrying around. 😉

Yeah. It had a few factory option ticked when new, extended lighting pack, front sensors, nav and power boot.

After a few years of happy ownership, I've changed my vRS diesel hatch for a different car. Dealer that took it will probably have it on auto trader in a few days. Its fairly clean car with 65k on the clock. It's got lots of vcds tweaks done to it but standard in every other way and it had the dodgy water pump changed last year. Sad to see it go but pleased to be back in a petrol.

Hi guys, I caused a little bit damage to the bottom of my steering wheel from a broken zip on a thigh pocket on my shorts. Has anyone had a retrim done? How much did it cost? Would it be worth just buying a second hand replacement? Any thoughts please.
