ABS/wheel speed sensor and faults
Anyone know if a BREMI 51351 ABS sensor would be suitable for a vehicle with ACC? Sorry, can’t seem to post the link. Thanks.

ABS/wheel speed sensor and faults
I think I might have made a bit of a mistake in the part I’ve fitted. I have fitted the following: https://web.tecalliance.net/bremi/en/parts/cars/part/47/50321/detail?targetId=58750&typeNumber=58750#@brc/brands:Car;targetType:cars/assem:SKODA%20OCTAVIA%20III%20(5E3%2C%20NL3%2C%20NR3)%201.4%20TSI;targetType:cars;targetId:58750;typeNumber:58750/lnkparts:Sensors;targetType:cars;assemblyGroupId:102747;targetId:58750;typeNumber:58750/assignedPartDetail:50321;targetType:cars;brandId:47;articleNo:50321;targetId:58750;typeNumber:58750 but I now see that it states for vehicles without ACC. Could someone point me towards one that would be suitable? I can’t seem to find any the specifically state they’re suitable for vehicles with ACC. Thanks.

I assumed that was also linked to the wheel speed sensor, in that if the vehicle can’t confirm all four wheels are stationary the stop/start can’t activate?

No, I’ve not got access to that kit, from videos I watched online the error messages disappeared as soon has the new sensor was fitted. I’ve been for a 5 min drive and they’re still there…

ABS/wheel speed sensor and faults
Hi all, I’ve been having an intermittent issue with my 2014 Octavia (160,000 miles) which has now become permanent. On startup (or very shortly afterwards) I get the following error messages: - start-stop system; - ABS/ESC; - hill hold assist; - ACC and Front Assist not available; - Tyre Pressure Monitoring System. The car was last serviced by Skoda in September 2023. They plugged it in (for the bargain price of £95) and diagnosed the following: Investigate intermittantly illuminated lights on dash - carried out diagnostic scan - fault stored for rear left wheel speed sensor, left rear ABS wheel speed sensor open circuit Suspect replacement nearside rear wheel speed sensor and wheel bearing required The fault has recently become permanent so to try and resolve it I have just replaced the rear nearside wheel speed sensor, however this does not appear to have fixed the issue and I’m still getting all the same faults come up. Anyone have any other suggestions before I replace the remaining sensors in the off chance that it’s one of them in addition to the rear near side? No ACC is hard work! Many thanks.

1.5 SE-L DSG
Are they not all MkIII facelifts?

1.5 SE-L DSG
Evening, I’ve had my MkIII Octavia Elegance for approaching seven years now and have put over 100,000 miles on it in that time. Averaged closed to 50mpg doing mostly ~40 mile journeys on fast roads, which I’ve been very happy with. I’m looking at replacing it now though and the obvious choice would appear to be a MkIV Octavia. As per the title, I would have ideally opted for the SE-L trim and the 1.5 petrol DSG, but it would appear no such car exists! Having trawled AutoTrader and the 2020 Octavia brochure it would seem that my only pure petrol DSG option is the 2.0 vRS, which I’d rather not go for due to ride quality and economy. The only other DSG options are mild hybrids in either 1.0 SE guise or the 1.4 SE-L. Is the above accurate? I’m not yet willing to embrace MHEV technology until it’s a bit more established so I’m a bit disappointed to see it’s either a vRS or nothing! Might have to look at a Superb instead as there are plenty of petrol DSG examples around, although it is starting to look a bit dated now. Any comments welcome!

Experience of upgrading the firmware on Amunsden MIB2.5 system
Does anyone have any experience of updating the firmware with the engine running? The warning seems to say ‘don’t start the engine mid-update’ rather than ‘don’t start the process with the engine running’… My battery is pretty much new so I imagine it will be fine, but I don’t have a charger so it’s either do it with engine running or hope the battery holds out… Thanks
