  1. How long have you got before you cannot reject it ? I would be doing exactly that RIGHT NOW.
  2. Interesting, i don't want a Sportsline because most of the stuff they have i am not too bothered about, i also like the trays on the back seats which i cannot spec on a Sportsline. I can raise the cash elsewhere and had not really thought of the dealer registered stuff, the Carwow price for an SEL DSG in 1.5 (incl of metallic and RFL/1st Reg fee ) is £30,300 which i thought was reasonably good for a car which i can spec myself, I have just had a look at autotrader, and although they are cheaper, they are only a few grand cheaper than what i can get a brand new one for (and that's also with a few thousand miles on) and for a 1.0 not a 1.5. I agree that going off the RRP it looks a huge saving, but brand new with the first reg fee and rfl paid..... its just at £30k with Carwow, and i pick my colour and can add a few extras, that the ones on auto trader do not appear to have. I will keep looking but at the moment i am not seeing it. I will drop the boot floor though, i do just want it to level the floor when transporting larger items (which is not often). The matrix lights i can miss but i do fancy the ambient light pack and maybe the Canton.
  3. I do need to change my lovely (but aged) 2010 Fabia 1.6tdi so went looking for a year old 1.5tsi DSG SEL, found a nice one at a local dealer but when looking at the finance side of things, it worked out similar to buy a brand new one (via Carwow prices) due to the Skoda contribution and the lower APR on a PCP. So here i am, about to order a Smokey Silver 1.5tsi DSG SEL, but i have never ordered a new car before so am a bit ' giddy ' on what to add in options..... The spare wheel is a given and frankly so is the variable boot floor, but what else should i consider ?
  4. Wow, this has taken me a few days to digest but these 9 pages have now changed my mind on what engine i was going to get in a future Karoq, I was going for a 1.5tsi DSG SEL, i have decided to simply write off the 1.5tsi engine in all its flavours, so i am going back to the 2.0tdi 4x4 DSG SEL. A tried and trusted engine which does what it says on the tin. VAG need to get their act together, and for the driver to have to adapt a different driving style to cater for a poor design on an engine is just insane.
  5. As the title says i am looking to change one of our cars for the last of the Mk3's, should i go for the petrol or diesel, either way it will be a DSG. The price difference between petrol and the oil option is about 30p per litre so that is a fair bit. I do about 10,000 per year so am thinking that diesel may not be the way to go. I keep hearing about chain issues or oil consuption on the TSI engine but that seems to be in the early versions, not the ones that would be in a 2020 car. What do you all say for my choices.

Well the Fabia got a mild sporty uplift..... any chance the Scala could ? It seems to be the Cinderella of the VW Group, but due to VAG not producing a Mk4 Fabia Estate its an obvious choice when i come to swap my Mk2 TDI, any decent upgrade on the horizon that we know about. A 1.5tsi SEL would be the top of my list as i found the Monte Carlo seats a tad uncomfortable.
  7. Morning all, A quick question if i may, i have a 2022 Fabia 1.0 with i understand G65 coolant in it, it needed a slight top up to get from min to max, so i did what all good none thinking people do and looked at the colour (pink) and put some of my pink G40 in it, it must of been a shotglass full (if that), so a very small amount. I understand from good ole Ai that they are both from the same ' family ' of coolants ? Is this true and could this small amount cause any issues...... thank you.
  8. I would say the caution should be to NOT loan your pride and joy to an idiot.
  9. Thank you for all the info, i have now seen a 2025 1.5tsi E-tec sportline dsg hatch, is that a hybrid ? Did not really want one to be honest, just straight petrol.
  10. I have read that the early Mk4 Octavia had a lot of ' software issues ', what year was that ironed out.... or has it not and is the 2026 one the same :( I was looking at a 2022 Octavia VRS DSG, Petrol.
  11. Thanks for all the replies, its as i first thought that if i got a 2025/2026 then i should be ok, on a slightly different note, one of the posts mentioned a heated front screen, can i ask if the screen is the type where you can see the '' wires '' through the glass or is it the same the Skoda Superb whereby i have read you cannot see anything. Thanks
  12. An odd question possibly given this is the section for owners of such a car, but i have been reading that some are having a lot of electrical issues and gremlins, is this true and if so have any of them been reduced with the latest 2025 model since its introduction ? It fits the bill for size and price but i do understand it has significantly been brought into the 21st century with all the electronics. I was looking at a 2025 used TDI SEL estate. Thanks
  13. I have a 2010 Elegance with the usual headunit and wish to get DAB and allow my phone to connect so i can make calls etc............... anybody done this and can recommed a unit, i do not have wheel controls etc. Thanks.
  14. A really good read, the Velvet Red colour is stunning, you rarely see it on the roads, and an L and K with 4x4 ! Look forward to more updates.
  15. Come to this late but those two pictures of the green and red boots have the wrong jack in the foam insert, the Mk2 and Mk3 jacks will damage the sill of the Mk4 if used, you need a the scissor jack for the Mk4.
