Try this one, bit more expensive.

Yes. A bit more than I wanted to pay. I have messaged to see if they still have it.

Check the handke to drop the seats and the air vent controls for the rear passengers. Easily kicked and broken. Haldex and DSG services as mentioned above. Check tyre wear is even. See if the DSG lever has been changed as its a part thats been known to fail. Its a ling read but the 280 thread is great. May even find your car's original purchase. ( i did). If driving find some speed bumps and listen for noise.

Absolutely great cars. Great engine. Great space and invisible to most. (If yiu can bear to leave the exhaust tips sooty for extra stealth - i can't)

I think I would probably go for the Marshall one.  The privately owned vehicle does look a little 'well used', particularly in the back, though at these kind of mileages you have to expect some wear and tear.  The light interior also lightens the cabin area, though does stain if wearing denim or similar dark coloured clothes.  Through the dealer you would have a little more comeback if anything went wrong. Marshalls (of which Marshall-mini is part of the group) as you know is a major Skoda dealer and get excellent feedback, so would expect this car to be of a similar quality. Maybe a little too high mileage to pass through the Skoda approved programme?

Thanks for the comments and the ones above. I would prefer the L&K. I just can't live with the cream interior. I do have a budget of 20k. So I can go higher. I am not sure a  sportline fits the bill, as I live rurally and I am surrounded by pot holes, so a lower car with larger alloys isn't a preference for me. I take the point about buying from Skoda approved though.

  3. Good evening

I am after a 280. Prefer an L&K, but hard to track down. I have spotted a SL Exec - 2017 plate with 70k Mileage, £14.2K price. It has had one owner and according to the add, a full dealership history.

I am not overly worried about the mileage as long as it has been well looked after. I also do very few miles (working from home) and will only really use it for the family holidays, occasional business trips. We have an electric car for the other weekly family trips.

I have asked about it's previous use, was it a taxi/fleet vehicle etc... However I wondered if you could tell me what other questions I should be asking?

    Thanks in advance

  4. Hi, actually the dealer with the 2016 L&k has just confirmed it does have DCC. So that is a big tick. I live rurally with some poor roads, so big alloys and low ride isn't great for me. Will check this one out. Thanks for all your replies.

I've just picked up an L&K 280 hatch with the DCC and I believe it's standard fit on the L&K.

I suppose the hard thing about trying to find a Sportline with it fitted is that it's a rare option plus some sellers won't even know if it's fitted.

It's a rare car full stop, I looked for a couple of months and there was never more than 7 for sale under 25k and 2017 or newer. And that was both bodystyles and all trims.

The L&K definitely firms up in sport mode but my suspension is softer than the sportline so maybe it would be okay on passive dampers?

Good luck finding what you want though

Yes, choice is limited. I would be happy with a L&K as well, just even harder to find. I spotted a 2016 model, but I am not sure it has the DCC that far back?

  6. They do sound like fab cars. Mine will do low mileage as commutes are minimal and it will be the family load lugger. Kids plus large dog. I just want the ride to be comfortable. My Octy is too firm. How's the ride on yours compared to the Octy?

Do you mean you want them to Pay to diagnose if there are issues after 'The Fix' they did under your Guarantee that there would be no adverse affect with it?

That is a smart thing to do, i hope there is something they can do, part replaced or whatever, but i doubt it.

    Hi

Ideally yes, however having read through a number of posts ad=nd articles to looks as though they won't be helpful. My next step is to look at having a rollback done on the software to pre-fix. Its so annoying.

  8. Hi

I can say I have now contacted Skoda to ask for a fix. I do not believe this is a fault of wifes driving style. We owned the car doing the same drives for 12 months before the emmissions recall and had no issues, not once.

I will also look into have the software re-mapped, could anyone recommend a company please?

My Yeti greenline had the same engine as the 1.6tdi tdi Fabia, and had to have the update as it was a company car, just before it went  back to the lease company. Regens went from hardly noticeable at large intervals to doing 6 very noticeable ones every  200 miles or so in the last couple of weeks I had it. It was noisier, had less low down power and the fuel consumption also changed for the worse. This was on a car doing normally about 1500 miles a month and actually did 1500 miles in the last 2 weeks I had it after the fix was applied.

Based on this experience my wifes Fabia with the 1.6tdi engine has not had the fix applied, and will not have it. This Fabia is now nearly 5 years old, and has done about 4k max per year in the 4 years we have owned it with no regen issues or warning lights. A trip every other week or so of 45 miles return seems to keep the dpf healthy, so a low mileage diesel is not a bad thing. Nothing is going to go wrong when not being used. Only real risk is lots of very short trips, and never longer runs to allow the car to do a passive regen.

In the Yeti forum a number of people have reported similar issues following the fix. If less than 2 years ago and an obvious fault get it fixed under the goodwill warranty. Once the warranty has expired there are a number of companies that will reset the software back to the prefix status.

    Hi

Thanks for this. I have contacted skoda. Do you know companies that will reset the software?

  10. Hi

My wife has a 2011 Skoda diesel. She did the recall from skoda. Eversince the DPF light comes on once or twice a month. It has never come on in the year before.

Any suggestions, we will contact the garage, but having a read through internet posts this doesn't seem to get anywhere.
