  1. Just out of curiosity, did you find the problem? I've stripped the linings out in my hatch as it was leaking from the same point, all of the jets are functioning adequately but get loads of water near the boot close button. There's no sign of a split pipe or water coming from anywhere else than the rear camera washer. I'm flummoxed! Has anyone else had this before? Failing that, does anyone have any instructions for removing the camera and opener module? Thanks 👍
  2. I really do think that it's the phone and not the car. The phone does other daft stuff like continuing to ring when you attempt to answer it (when nowhere near the car), but stupidly you have to unlock it first before answering the call. A real PIA. The comments made about the dash cam are my observations, but if you want to go down the route of AliExpress, you must do what you feel is correct with the information gleaned. Cheers
  3. Doesn't appear to do. Though saying that, I've just got a Pixel 5 and Android Auto is behaving a bit erratically (seems to freeze now and again and have to unplug the phone). Other than that, no other issues!
  4. I've got a Nextbase 522 with rear camera. I installed the rear camera myself but got Halfords to do the main unit which is hard wired to the fusebox. It cost me £35 for the fitting, including the kit and 30 mins of my time. It's a really neat job and I'm v.happy with the result. If I'd have not done the rear camera already, I think they wanted another 15 quid to do that. Well worth it in my opinion!
  5. Glad it worked. At least you didn't need to remove the boot lid liner like I did 🤦
  6. I had the same problem last week and it really pi$$ed me off. After reading one post about removing the boot lid liner to check for a split pipe - which I foolishly did and there wasn't, the simplest was to pop the jet nozzle off using a flat screwdriver (it's a click fitting) then try the washer jet. If you get a vertical jet of water then you know the jets are blocked. I used a bit of wire wool to remove any rust deposits and it now works as it should do. It might not be the same issue as mine, but worth a try 👍👍
  7. Now, you see that's odd. I had an HTC 10 before this and that was fine. I also had a OnePlus 3t as a work phone and that worked perfectly too. It wouldn't surprise me if the phone manufacturers were clowning about with the device settings unnecessarily.
  8. @craigandrew Does it give you the option box showing android auto touch button? I've an OnePlus 6 and it's a PIA. Say OK Google and the 4 coloured dots bounce up up and down but won't recognise my voice (on the multimedia screen) but when I talk to it when I receive a WhatsApp message it understands me then. I also used to be able to send text messages through the car screen, can't do that now either. Not impressed currently but it's probably the phone being stupid rather than the car.. As @john999boy said a good quality cable is needed too. I bought one but mine still has issues lol. Good luck...
  9. @Flatjack Before I got my Superb I had an i40 estate. When that came to the end of a 5 year lease (long time)... I had it cleaned and detailed in and out. There were a couple of stone chips on the bonnet, but Lombard finance had a guide as to what was accepted as fair wear and tear and some alloy scuffs too. I took tons of photos as I was expecting some sort of bullsh... from them; they didn't disappoint and told me that there was a mismatch in the paint colours on the doors from a dodgy repair, which was interesting as I'd had the bonnet changed after someone reversed a low loader into me but never the doors. However, they were asked to provide evidence of this, oh and by the way they said they wanted £950 too because of the damage! They continued that they had photographic evidence and they sent a couple to me. They told me that there was a crease in the door skin that hadn't been repaired properly. As you can see in the photo there is no dicky repair and the crease they referred to was part of the body styling. They continued wanting the money threatening court if we didn't pay up. The auction house was Manheim in Leeds but I found out that the chargeback on Lease cars is a £120million business so no wonder they try it on with everyone. We were told that they would drop the charge if we leased another car - thanks but no! We asked them to stop the threats as they were flogging a dead horse with their arguments and we'd counter claim. A couple of days later the offered a GOGW and dropped their claim (how nice of them 🤔). My Superb has 1 year left on its PCP but my intention is to buy it outright when the finance expires so fingers crossed I won't have to deal with this boococks again..
  10. Hi Just out of curiosity, is the horn not loud enough? Mine makes people (the kids) near jump out of their skin when it's pressed. If it were my Renault work van however, then I'd definitely agree it needed an upgrade as that is crap...
  11. Thanks for the offer Dan. That's much appreciated but maybe in a year or so when the warranty expires. Thanks to everyone for their POV 👍
  12. I've got all seasons on all 4 corners but the drive wheels are cross climate plus. I believe the grip is slightly lacking on all seasons but they are great in the snow and rain..
  13. Thanks FatWolfie, a very valid point or two. I was thinking more so of the dsg remap to try and avert the wheelspin I regularly get on my 220 L&K. Wet or dry, DCC on Sport or Normal, it makes no difference. There's plenty that have remaps on the 280 (as I read) or talk about having them but, has anyone had anything done on the 220? Cheers
  14. As odd as it might sound; tell the insurance, don't tell the insurance? If telling, is there a general percentage increase on insurance. Just curious. Also, would you have the ECU or DSG repap first? Cheers
  15. I had mine serviced last month at an independent. 9500 miles on the clock, used Skoda parts for oil change cost me £102 Inc Vat. Happy with that. He also services all of the local after hours NHS Doctor Skoda Octavias too..
