  1. Exactly the same fault that i am experiencing. will take the arm off and run it continuously for a long drive somewhere. i thought it was the motor loosing out to resistance in the wiping action against a drying screen as the rear window keeps itself pretty dry at motorway speeds.
  2. Hi My 67 Superb has developed an issue recently with the rear wiper. It’s prone to stopping mid stroke and won’t reset unless I lift the wiper arm and twist it left and right. Then the motor will work once the steering column lever is switch on. It’s as if it can’t overcome the friction on the screen because it also appears to have slowed down in its sweeping motion. Anyone else seen this? The wiper is a couple of years old so will swap it over to see if that makes a difference.
  3. Thanks for this input. I use a Prestone screen wash for winter at the moment. Concentrate with water from me. When its cold i add some 99% alcohol fluid but I didn't have any in this time. I think the time has come to pull the rear panel off the inside of the boot and see whats going on in there.
  4. Morning The rear washer spray on my car seems to have low pressure. I have cleared the jets and also ran the spray without the nozzles on. Normally it would spray out about 1.5m above the car but right now its a much lower pressure. Spray height is less than 0.5m. My question is whether there is a single motor in the spray system at the bottle or is there another motor at the back of the car? The pressure at the front of the car seems fine. Or am I looking at removing the interior cover of the boot lid to see if there is a leak in there? Nothing seems to be leaking out. This seems to happen during freezing weather and once the jets unfreeze i normally have to clear the jets of "crud" but this is something new.
  5. I changed the bulbs on my 67 L&K a 2 weekends ago knowing that I had a long drive across mid wales at night yesterday. The near side light was definitely the hardest even with the wheel and arch removed. Car was on a jack for safety. I bought a pair of nightbreakers and the improvement in light was incredible. Full beam was stretching out at least 300m on straight unlit roads. Once I realised my bulbs didn’t need to be rotated to remove it was just a case of the fiddly clips and my big hands. By the time I was finished it was quite dark which explains why I have a spare screw that I have find the correct spot for.
  6. I would recommend contacting a skoda dealer and asking them to check the firmware if you aren't able to access those details yourself. It sounds like you need to get the firmware updated. Its exactly the same problem i had years ago. That solved it.
  7. Good point. Will get it sorted in next service.
  8. Thanks Nick Thought that might be the case. Will get some ordered. Did you go with a main dealer or aftermarket supply?
  9. Bumping this to see whether anyone has seen a similar fault and maybe missed this post.
  10. Hello I have a 67 plate L&K and in the past month or 2 i have been getting some issues with my electric tailgate. When i press either the latch on the boot or the centre console button the tailgate lifts about 30cms and stops. I have to press the button repeatedly to get it to go up but it goes up in stages. More recently it can refuse to open at all and i have to lift it manually. The key opening is also non functioning as well. Closing seems to be fine but there are occasions when the latching mechanism is tight and the lid needs a nudge to lock into place. I have read the other threads and it looks like its probably struts but some mention a NW sensor and i wasn't sure what that was. If i get the vehicle codes what should i be looking for to diagnose the struts or any other faults?
  11. Hi The boot on my L&K has developed an issue where its not clamping tight. It appears to be shut but as you drive away the lid lifts slightly and the warning symbol comes on. There used to be a clamping system on my old mk2 which played up before. Is this a similar fault or has anyone else seen this issue? Car is a 67 plate.
  12. The offside rear speaker on my Canton Superb has started distorting the sound badly. Car is a 67 plate so its up to me to replace it. i notice that the speakers available have different depths so does anyone know just how much space there is to play with? I want to have something better than stock but not looking to drastically upgrade the speakers as i mainly listen to voice rather than music. But similarly don't want to waste money by buying something that is too big.
  13. Forgot to post an update on this. Never got anywhere with the towbar from the garage and seeing as I didn't really need it, i used the money they gave me to buy a spare wheel and tool kit. I am more likely to have a puncture than have to tow something. My L&K is the hatchback version.
  14. Update on this. Reloaded the sd card and started installing the update within a few mins. Took an hour to install but seems all good now.
  15. Thanks all. i will try again. I have done everything i needed to do as suggested above so will have another go later on.
