Brand new Scala SOS emergency call fault
Just had my emergency call module replaced by Skoda (2019 MY) after a four month wait for the part; at least it failed in the warranty period!

Picked up the wife's Scala last Friday
That’s a really nice colour; enjoy!

New Scala owner - couple of questions
Great looking Scala, congratulations! If you look in the vehicle data on the infotainment system it should tell you when it’s next due a service, which should give you a clue as to when it was last serviced/inspected. I own a 2 year old Scala, which I bought at 8 months and it had an oil service at 12 months, and I’ve just given it it’s second last week.

Front seats - comfortable?
One of the reasons I went for the Scala was the seats; I suffer from a bad back and I need adjustable lumbar support, which the Scala has in addition to offering a wide range of adjustment. I had a Fabia a while back and I found the seats to be awful, not lease because they didn't have any lumbar support. The 1.0 litre engine (115) is fantastic and more than enough power for the car.

Help please
I’ve had the same issue and as far as I could see there isn’t a way to turn it off. It’s really irritating, not least because of all the other things you have to “set” on each journey including the hateful lane assist. The dealer couldn’t sort it so my solution is never to turn the head unit off, and i’ve never had it pop up since. I won’t be buying another Skoda though.

Scala SEL checklist on start-up
I agree re lane assist; it's the first thing I switch off before starting out. I hate it with a passion and I won't buy another Skoda unless it can either be switched off permanently, or it's improved to the point where it doesn't want to steer me towards a hedge/kerb because the road has previously been repaired and it mistakes the tar line as the centre line. In terms of the other prompts, I found them annoying (share my position every time I started); the solution is never to switch off the stereo manually and it doesn't come up.

New Kamiq - story so far
Only for that journey; the next time you start up it will be on by default.

Luck Dip time with Scala
Do you still get the "share my position" pop up? My Scala does this and it's really annoying!

Dashcam (without usb-c port on visor)
I installed a Nextbase dashcam in my Scala SE using the Nextbase hard wire kit; the camera is fixed on the passenger side - the cable runs behind the roof lining across to the passenger side windscreen pillar trim (this unclips) then down a gap and behind the glove box and across to the fuse box where it piggybacks onto an existing fuse. The cable is secured in various places with cable ties. I couldn't work out how to remove the centre roof consul to get the cable across, which is why I went the long route!

Annoying Bolero Data pop up message
Hi there I have a 2019 Scala and every time I turn it on I get the attached messages on the Bolero screen. The dealer updated the software but unfortunately it hasn't cured it, and I can't find any relevant settings to stop it. I posted in the Scala sub-form but hope to get more replies here. Cheers Tim

New Kamiq - story so far
I have a Scala and I have to agree with the lane assist; had I known about it before buying I would have passed. I find it really annoying having to go through a menu to switch it off, and on the odd occasion I forget it really catches me by surprise - I travel on a road next to my house where there has been roadworks in the past and it pulls me towards the kerb/verge. I really like the car but will not choose another Skoda where you can't permanently disable it. On a positive note, I suffer from a bad lower back but find the SE seats with lumbar support really comfortable; it does take a while to get the ideal position.

Issue with data protection dialogue box - Bolero
Hi there I have a 2019 Scala 1.0 SE with the Bolero infotainment system and whilst I am happy with the car it has an annoying issue; every time I start the car it comes up with a dialogue box as per the attached picture "Data protection information. Loading...." and when I select okay I also get another dialogue regarding the data transfer setting. I am sure this isn't normal and wondered if any other member has the same issue? I've played around with the settings relating to "share my position" but it doesn't make any difference. I mentioned it to the dealer when it went in for it's first service and they updated the car/stereo to the latest firmware but it didn't help unfortunately. Also, I signed up and registered the car for Skoda connect today (as well as using the pin in car), and it doesn't appear to be fully working as I can't access the car info online (ie mileage etc). Do I need to sign up for additional services? When I tried in the Skoda shop it says there are no registered cars with connect services available. I note that some owners are able to unlock the car etc from their phone; is this limited to the SEL? Thanks Tim

My new Scala - brief early thoughts
I bought an ex-demo Scala in March and I've been really pleased with it apart from the already mentioned lane "assist", which I turn off at the start of each trip. I live in Scotland and it is dangerous on the type of roads I drive on. I regularly drive on a road where there is a tar line down one side where the road has been repaired and if I leave it on it constantly wants to steer me into the verge. I doubt I would buy another Skoda with this feature. As a previous poster mentioned, it may be helpful on motorways etc, but not on A/B roads in the UK. I have a 1.0 TSI SE with the Bolero stereo (I think) - it has been good although I am constantly bugged with pop ups asking me to "ok" privacy settings, which is irritating. If I turn off all the privacy features they default back on the next time I start the car and the pop ups re-appear. Any info on this would be gratefully received.
