  1. Sadly it was not economically viable to repair. So had to go to Car heaven. I was going to trade it in anyway, so spending more than trade in repairs was pointless. Just picked up a 15 Plate Octavia today to replace it with.
  2. Thanks again :) I have been told the "low pressure" is down to a suspected Oil Pump failure by local mechanic and is going to be an expensive repair, especially with a new or recon Turbo to boot. Now I am in a quandry, as I was planning on trading the Superb in to go back to a 2013 to 2015 Octavia. So, costwise it isn't going to pay back - The car is only worth £1500 on a Trade in.
  3. Thanks for the response. I know I shouldn't have driven it, but I had no choice as I was driving in single lane roadworks 😞 I have never heard the Turbo spin after shutting Engine down so I assume it is louder due to Oil issue? (I'm not as mechanic minded like I was in my younger days) Are there any "obvious" things to look for before I call in the Mobile mechanic? Need to keep costs down as we was planning on trading the Car in for another Skoda, so don't want to be throwing money at it like I would if I was keeping it 😞
  4. I was making my way home last night from Work and plodding along in Rush hour traffic. As I pulled away from Traffic Lights my "Low Oil Pressure" warning lit up with three bongs...the car lost power and I could barely make 20mph. I couldn't stop where I was so I had to limp to a Car park on an industrial estate a short distance away. As I drove it, whilst (Slowly) gaining speed, there was a Whistle / whining from the Engine and another noise, which I cannot explain, sort of like spinning bearings in a tin is probably the best way to explain it. The car starts and ticks over but I haven't tried to drive it after getting home. When I switch it off, it carries on making a noise (See video link) any ideas? Going to have to try and get it to a Garage somehow 😞 https://youtu.be/RQcStfylH4Q
  5. Annoyingly, I had my Dash Cam on "Parked mode" but the impact wasn't enough to Save the recording. My Cam takes a feed from an ignition only live feed. May have to change that :( Moreso, I normally park with my Nose facing a wall or hedgerow etc, But spaces where limited and I had to park centrally in the car park, with exposed front and rear. I am one of those who will park as far away as possible from Shop doors......This event is exactly why I do that :(
  6. Will have a look at that, was hoping to pop bumper off today, but ran out of daylight due to Christmas shopping ......
  7. Cheers. There is a metal bracket from inner wing that appears to be bent? Not too sure, As I had never noticed it before, not needed to look. I say bent as the other side the same bracket is straight. Really annoyed, as mine was a plonker in a car park too, I wasn't in the Car at the time. Worse still as my Wifes new Fiat 500 got a clobber from a Van driver who drove out of a petrol station, clipped her car (She was in a traffic queue) and then buggared off at speed 😞
  8. Thank you for that, looks fairly straightforward to do.
  9. Fantastic 😞 Not having a good time this Christmas, someone smacked my Wifes new Fiat 500 and drove off the other day...............Now this!!! Thanks for picture and answer
  10. Someone has kindly dinged the front O/S corner of my Bumper and moved the whole headlight unit back about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch. So it is no longer in line with the Body. Is there a way to realign this without removing Bumper? Need to get it done quick as I'm going away this coming weekend with my Wife for our wedding anniversary, in the Car..........😭
  11. I used to work in Tarleton / Hesketh Bank. Len Wrights produce growers down Hesketh Lane and then Harrisons Produce growers in Banks. Been in the Midlands since 2001.
  12. Yes, It is somewhat annoying. Though with all that Water, Salt and grime, I wonder how long the sensor can last ? They are not really well protected down there
  13. On a different note --- Hello fellow Prestonian.........I am originally from Longton, just South of Preston
