  1. Hey all Just to update, fitted new rear-right ABS speed sensor, so far all good with approx 2000km since the fix Cheers!
  2. Hey dude! Sorry only just saw this Mine was a genuine Westfalia towbar with the wiring harness so it was very much plug and play, and the mounting holes in the chassis were already there Not sure about non-genuine I'm afraid! My Octavia also had the towbar/trailer prep from factory so I didn't have to worry about wiring in the loom from the fuse box etc. Essentially, all I did was jack it up, pull off the tail lights and bumper, fit the towbar, plug the harness in and then bolt the bumper back on 😄 didn't need any special tools although a bumper removal kit is handy!
  3. Lovely thanks guys! I'll let you know what I find when i get into it 👌🏽
  4. Hey all I intermittently get a bunch of faults occur at the same time, usually it disappears after the next time I start the car. (Octavia Vrs Mk3) Doesn't appear to be weather dependent, and doesn't seem to have a pattern Anyway, based on the fault codes, I'm thinking it's a faulty ABS sensor that then triggers the other faults, either that or some strange Canbus issue. Any thoughts, before I pull the trigger on a new ABS sensor?
  5. Hey dudes, just a quick one... Am I right in saying LED trailer lights may not work correctly with the official trailer/tow bar controller? The trailer is just a standard 7 pin
  6. Yeah being in Australia does limit my options, Witter don't have Australia as a selection but I'll ping them a message Worst case I'll get a friend in the UK to post them over, should still work out much cheaper!
  7. Legend! Thanks a bunch for that, much better prices 😎
  8. Well it's been a few months, had a broken thumb, but today finally got the tow bar fitted 👌🏽 The person I bought the tow bar from said the keys are dirt cheap, just a standard key that is used on things like roof racks etc, google shows me keys that are like £75+ ?
  9. Stroke of luck, bought a second hand towbar from Ebay in Australia, has the genuine wiring harness, and to my suprise on delivery it's actually a Westfalia towbar too! $500 (£260) all in delivered, worked out well! I'll fit it myself, and i have OBD11 so I can activate the coding for it. Only thing is no keys for the detachable towball so I'll have to look into that at some point.
  10. hey guys, I've had a bit of a look but I can't find the specific answer to my question. Is there any issue with using the towbar prep electrics and OEM wiring harness for a non-OEM towbar? Unfortuantely I am located in Australia and the Westfalia towbars are either incredibly expensive here, or the shipping costs from the UK are extortionate. My Octavia VRS 2015 has the towbar prep option (1D7). So thinking I could just order the OEM towbar wiring, chuck that onto the towbar/trailer prep; and then use a cheaper towbar? I've been quoted £1000+ by the Skoda dealer, £1500+ by a dedicated towbar garage; for Westfalia ones fitted and coded. Or for £400 I can get it done myself with the above... I just need to be able to tow a motorcycle trailer to the track once a month or so... Cheers! Danohosko
  11. Hey all, can't say I have been a very active member at all, joined back in 2016 when I purchased a Felicia Fun, which has been my pride and joy in a weird neglectful way. I moved overseas for work and the old girl rotted into disrepair over the last couple of years, much like my love life 😂 Anyway, I will have an original truckman top and potentially original felicia fun wheels available if anyone is interested, located in Cornwall UK (TR16 6PA). Would need a quick-ish reply on the wheels as I'll get my mate to salvage them before she gets rehomed for parts. Cheers Danohosko
