  1. Stroke of luck, bought a second hand towbar from Ebay in Australia, has the genuine wiring harness, and to my suprise on delivery it's actually a Westfalia towbar too! $500 (£260) all in delivered, worked out well! I'll fit it myself, and i have OBD11 so I can activate the coding for it. Only thing is no keys for the detachable towball so I'll have to look into that at some point.
  2. hey guys, I've had a bit of a look but I can't find the specific answer to my question. Is there any issue with using the towbar prep electrics and OEM wiring harness for a non-OEM towbar? Unfortuantely I am located in Australia and the Westfalia towbars are either incredibly expensive here, or the shipping costs from the UK are extortionate. My Octavia VRS 2015 has the towbar prep option (1D7). So thinking I could just order the OEM towbar wiring, chuck that onto the towbar/trailer prep; and then use a cheaper towbar? I've been quoted £1000+ by the Skoda dealer, £1500+ by a dedicated towbar garage; for Westfalia ones fitted and coded. Or for £400 I can get it done myself with the above... I just need to be able to tow a motorcycle trailer to the track once a month or so... Cheers! Danohosko
  3. Hey all, can't say I have been a very active member at all, joined back in 2016 when I purchased a Felicia Fun, which has been my pride and joy in a weird neglectful way. I moved overseas for work and the old girl rotted into disrepair over the last couple of years, much like my love life 😂 Anyway, I will have an original truckman top and potentially original felicia fun wheels available if anyone is interested, located in Cornwall UK (TR16 6PA). Would need a quick-ish reply on the wheels as I'll get my mate to salvage them before she gets rehomed for parts. Cheers Danohosko
  4. Well I hooked up the VCDS Lite and checked the Coolant Temp Sensor and Air Inlet Temp sensor, both were reading 9.0°C when engine was cold which matches with the outside air temperature... Definitely becoming easier to start now that the weather is warming up a touch, i was hoping it was going to be a temperature sensor somewhere as that makes the most sense to me but both of them reading the same says to me that they are both working, especially since the coolant sensor is new. No fault codes on the 01 engine block. Could it simply be the throttle body reset needing to be done? Odd because once warmed up she does idle nicely at around 800-900 rpm. Looking like i'm gonna have to shell out the $90... Any advice appreciated! Dan
  5. Ok so scanned for Fault codes, did have one relating to the MAP sensor but i figured it was probably from when i unplugged the MAP and ran it so cleared that one, also have one for Airbag voltage or something. Driven her a couple days now and rescanned, no new fault codes for the 01-Engine in the VCDS so guessing the previous MAP fault code was from when i unplugged it? I was going to do the Throttle Body reset but need to register the VCDS, it's $99 to register which isn't the end of the world, worth it do we think? Tomorrow i should be fitting new wheels, pop down to local exhaust place (mines rusting to pieces and i fancy a stainless one) then probably strip the throttle body and clean the hell out of it. Got my cambelt/water pump/tensioners done for £200 the other day too, that was all inclusive, bargain i say! Cheers! Dan
  6. Ah ok, I've invested in one so hopefully have that this week will give it a go! For now I've cheated and adjusted the throttle cable so its always revving a tad, bodgy i know...
  7. Hi all, new member My Fun has an issue at Cold Start, basically she starts up but if i don't hold the revs with the pedal for a couple minutes she will stall, after shes warmed up a touch then she won't stall, but the idle will bit a bit 'erratic' until she has completely warmed up then she runs fine. I have changed the Coolant temp sensor that didn't seem to help. When i unplug the MAP sensor and start her cold, she won't stall and will hold revs at say 400rpm. To me that says the MAP/Inlet temp sensor is the issue, but before i jump the gun and buy a new one, i was thinking that while the MAP is unplugged then the Fun might go into a sort of 'limp' mode that could sort of mask the actual problem (if it isn't the MAP sensor). Tried spraying some carb-cleaner in and around the MAP and intake but didn't really spend much time on that... Also when driving there is a bit of a petrol-like smell, but i noticed i have a hole in my exhaust so I'm wondering if she's over-fuelling or if its just the exhaust flow, mpg doesn't seem too bad to me though! Cheers, DanoHosko
  8. Hi all! New Skoda owner, purchased a Skoda Felicia Fun a couple weeks ago, great little truck! I'm a Maintenance Engineer in Cornwall 24 years old, hoping to make a little project out of the Fun. Cheers! DanoHosko
