Hi, Are you sure it flew away? Mine was stolen. I daresay the thief was driven by the ridiculous price of this bit of plastic. I had/have the same issue which largely remains unresolved and regularly have to push it back into place. A design fault according to the dealer, that Skoda are aware of. I’m in full agreement with you regarding; you get sucked in with all devices fully integrating and before you know it it’s very difficult to break away especially if you’re not a techie. I very reluctantly migrated over from Microsoft to Apple in 2016 when Microsoft were, for me anyway, riddled with problems and impossible to get phone support. One big plus, again for me, is that you so easily get to speak to a tech expert even if you do not have a current paid subscription.

I admit to taking a deep breath, saying a little prayer and crossing my fingers each time I connect my iPhone after a major IOS update. Out of interest, are you on IOS 18 or 26?

Difficult to know whether issue stems from car or phone. It might be worth calling Apple support to see if they have any ideas; if it’s an update issue you will not be the only one. In my experience they are willing to help even if warranty/Apple care is way out of date. 🤞

Have you updated the software on your phone by any chance? Updates often get my phone’s knickers in a twist. Perhaps check if CarPlay is still showing in your iPhone settings. Other than checking your lead and switching off your phone and waiting for a minute or so before switching it back on I can’t think of anything else.

It will undoubtedly be a hard act to follow. I am hoping my Superb will see me through to mobility scooter stage 🤞 I went from one extreme to another swapping my lovely little Yeti (no space even with the seats removed) for the Superb to enable me to take my frail, elderly Mother and Stepdad on holiday and to accommodate luggage for 3 and all necessary equipment (wheelchair, rollator, mobility scooter,travel commode). “Superb” car 😬

I have a 2016 Superb and iPhone 12. If I connect my phone with a cable via usb i have the option of connecting via Apple Car Play on the infotainment system. Without a cable the phone connects to smart link via Bluetooth. Either way Bluetooth needs to be activated and your phone paired. If memory serves me right, after connecting my phone my contacts were downloaded automatically. Maybe rebooting your phone may clear any glitches? Apologies if I’m stating the obvious. Hope you sort it.

I am no expert but if memory serves me right from when I connected my iPhone in my 2016 Superb, I believe you have to pair your phone to the infotainment via usb or Bluetooth. On your iPhone go to settings > General > CarPlay > Available Cars and choose your vehicle. You may have to select Mirrorlink on the infotainment…?? Good luck.

Following your guidance and instructions I have successfully updated. It was seamless and completed during a 17 mile round trip with a stopover of 2hours. Very grateful for your clear guidance 👍👍

Thank you for the clear instructions - very useful for a menopausal numpty 🙃 "extract content to SD Card" = Could someone please advise if an SDXC card is suitable for my 2016 L&K Superb Mk III with Columbus system? I previously (nervously) updated to the 2021 map using a 32GB SDHC class 10 card but my understanding is that I need a larger capacity care (64GB?) card for the current update? I am a Mac user but have access to a Windows computer. Advice in 'numpty' speak gratefully received.

Girlie question: did you use the glue between the silver trim and rubber seal? the silver door trim on my car keeps popping out. It looks like the rim has moved and the end catches on rear door trim. My trustee garage has talked of removing trim and seal and resitting it and gluing back into place - at least 2 hours labour. I’m worried about this in case rubber stretches during procedure and I end up with cost of new seals. Any advice gratefully received.
