  1. Long shot as so long ago, but did you resolve this problem and what was it? Mine has started using up engine coolant now (started at about 31k, now coming upto 35). First time alarm came up, and I've since kept an eye on it and had to top up twice as on min level marker. Oil seems ok so dont think its getting into there, not sure where water pump is to have a look. Will ask at dealer of course when next service is due. Cheers
  2. Car is coming up to around 22k from memory. Msg came up with 1000mile warning. Currently now 700mile warning so need to get booked in. It had a major service at 15k at the dealer.
  3. I've got a msg come up saying I need an oil service. Is it literally just an oil change required and if so is it worth doing it at the main dealership or will an independent be just as good (and invariably cheaper)
  4. Anybody got a recommendation for one, so many options but want a tried and tested one. Links appreciated if possible. Cheers
  5. Light has now gone out after 3 full ecu power downs. I'll have a look into code readers. Have also dropped it down to map 2 + 0 if to see if that helps. Cheers
  6. Found this on their site, hoping it proves to be true, although vague on how many full ecu power downs you need to do.... "Engine Management Light?! If you do see an engine light, don’t worry this is your engine telling you that you’re being “greedy” so please don’t panic! If the system is turned down the light will either go out straight away, or after a certain number of full ecu power downs. (A “full ECU power down” means starting your vehicle, switching it off, locking it, walking away for around 20-30 minutes)."
  7. Would a scan tell me whether the box was causing the issue or something more sinister? Or is it a case of wiping the code, removing the box and seeing if the light comes back on? If it's going to be something that happens regularly (if it is the box, fingers crossed) then I'll get shot. Shame as my mileage has improved quite nicely since changing to map 2 but that gain would be wiped out by having to pay to get the code removed all the time!
  8. hi, my engine management light has come on. I have a dtuk fsr+ box on running on map 2+1. I've tried putting the blanking plug on but light remains on. Car seems to drive fine but from what I found usually its the epc light that comes on not the engine light, and that it goes when blanking plug put on the box? Really worried engine is fooked... Any help of things to try appreciated
  9. Not really had a chance to drive it properly yet, certainly less freeplay on the throttle. Just on std setting at the moment too whi x h I think is sport although not tweeked it at all.
  10. Haha, got it just after I posted. All in, just got to switch the car on and hope for the best now!
  11. Thanks. Car up under tray off but dammed off I can get the connector to undo!
  12. As titled installing a dtuk fsr+ box. Regarding the long cabled booster connection just wondering if someone.eone can give me some pointers where it actually goes. Instructions not very clear and the only video on YouTube is a golf for the petrol engine and you have to jack the car up which I'm not in a position to do. Does the octavia require to be jacked up or can you do it from above? No mention in Instructions about jacking it up but then it's an audi on the leaflet.. Also, mentions about connecting the box to the battery/earthing on the bulkhead in the golf vid but again nothing about that in the leaflet, plus I don't have a wire for that anyway so might be buggered before I start? Tia
  13. Yeah pretty sure it's the whole assembly. If I just put my hand on it the vibration stops
  14. My window switch on drivers side vibrates like mad with any sort of bass and its annoying as hell. I want to try padding it out a bit, would this require the removal of the whole door card or is there a way to remove just the switch unit? If the door card needs removing, is it a pita? Cheers
  15. Well I've given up haha. Have transferred all music to my phone and can play it through bluetooth with no problems so will have to stick to that I guess. BTW, whilst I'm here, anyone know if Superskoda are trading? Dont want to order something and then find out I have to wait 3 months....
