Intermittent Power Loss
Thanks for all the advice. Im going to mention all this to my mechanic. There just so much it could be. I took the car a spin there and noticed it straight away took ages to climb to 3k revs in 3rd. On the same run 5 mins later I again give her a bit of throttle and behold it was perfect reaching the 3k in the blink of an eye.

Intermittent Power Loss
I understand. I did the Italian tune up and have run millers oil through regularly so I'd say its something you've mentioned above. I have my vcds on a VM which is probably causing the fault when logging. All signs seem to be actuator. Just very rare that there no codes. Mechanic said that vanes were perfect so hoping I can get the fault! There usually a code associated with boost on sticky vanes? Could be anything tbh car is at 150kmiles. There's also not smoke and mpg isn't affected. No hissing sounds either.

Tried there cant get vcds to stay communicated lol. Is there anything you'd suspect of being wrong or faulty?

Intermittent Power Loss
Hello, So I'm having a really annoying fault that I can't get the bottom of. Sometimes when I accelerate it feels that the PD170 vRS isn't producing the full power it has. I seen a few others have this fault too. Then sometimes its perfect and will throw you back into the seat. I've got no codes or lights coming up. Checked injectors which all seem to be good as new, the turbo was cleaned and checked (Waste gate, actuator etc which according to my mechanic was ok), no codes for MAF etc. I seen someone else on here had something similar but the preglow warning light would flash and it turned out to be a sticky actuator. I did have this light a few times a number of years ago but hasn't shown since and never really looked into why it was coming up. The fuel filter was a wee bit dirty but is serviced every 5k miles (bad diesel). So I changed this and still have this intermittent fault. I don't know what to check next as the car is going perfect other than this and is achieving 54mpg and not smokey. It still has the dpf but it definitely isn't regens causing it. Anybody any ideas? I have VCDS. Thanks Jack

Footwell lights (Non-Maxidot)
Hello, Have a 2008 Octavia vRS TDi with the old non adjustable green display. Was wondering if there was a kit I could get or whether it was possible to fit footwell lights front and back in one of these and have it simply working off whether the door was opened or closed etc off/on accordingly or maybe wired in with what setting was on in the front interior reading lights (Off/DoorOpen/ConstantOn). Any help or suggestions is appreciated! I would like to hope if anything can be done that it wouldn't cause burning or a fire too! Lol Note: there are slots underneath the seats for rear footwell lights.

Thanks for all the input lads. My circumstances have changed for the moment I'll probably just go with the 35mm H&R lowering springs. I think they'll get me the drop i need whilst not going too low to avoid wrecking the splitter and not too high to look like an SUV lol. I've put in B4s and Koni shocks already as is so I think the 35mm springs will suit well with them.

Yea thats my biggest worry! I only got mine fixed and resprayed as it got damaged on a transported trailer lol. Just thinking for the likes of the MOT/NCT it would be too low with that cup kit although from the picture of FatBlokesVrs it looks class. Thats why I'm more on side with the B12 kit as it won't drop as much but hopefully enough to be noticeable 😆

Thanks lads. Is that the Cup kit? I was confused between going coilovers or a kit. Is that H and R kit the cup kit 50mm? I hear the B12s have good reviews so its a hard choice I suppose depends on which one is better on rough roads or allows enough clearance for a splitter😅

Coilovers
Hello, Ah I see was confused as it said it can lower by up to 40mm. Just wanna make sure I get the right kit and spend only once haha. Its the question now of going for that ST X by KW coilover kit or going fixed with the likes of the B12 or HR kit you have.
-
Coilovers
That actaully looks class tbf. Is the B12 also fixed? I seen it was adjustable up to 40mm according to Bilstein. My biggest problem is the splitter! If I go too low it'll catch on the bad roads over here.

Hello, Thanks Damien. So I'm stuck between the ST X by KW or the B12 Pro kit😅

- Coilovers
Hello Thanks for the replies Damien. Would they make any difference to this? Front in the first picture is like an SUV the back isn't so bad. Im not looking for crazy low but something just to sit like a sports car as such haha.- Coilovers
Thanks Damien. I would be willing to stretch for the correct ones for my needs. I've seen these and every talks about these ones. https://www.bilsteinsuspensionstore.co.uk/bilstein-b12--prokit-suspension-kit-46000354_p31028963.htm- Coilovers
Thanks for the reply! I was actaully looking at the B12 its not far away from the price of the ST X by KW I was looking at. Is it the Bilstein B12 pro kit I should be looking at? I see there's a sport line and pro kit variant Would the B14 kit be another option? Or are they fixed damping?- Coilovers
Hello, I know this has been discussed many many times before but whats the best coilovers out there presently? Have a budget between £500 and £600 but may stretch depending on persuasion. Dont want cheap ones that will crash or be poor quality. Looking for a range of 30-70mm. Would like if the dampers could be adjusted or would this be of any benefit anyways? Jack- Body Kits
Hello, I was just wondering what yous are using in the line of extending the rear bumper with lips, spats etc. I have the maxton design front splitter and I'm getting the same in side skirts/lip but unsure what to get for the rear bumper. Im also throwing a set of H&R 35mm lowering springs to bring it together so to summarise what I need is: Rear bumper lip/spat Roof spoiler etc Anyone any pictures or ideas of what they done Thanks Jack- 2008 vRS front grille colour Coding
Also, does anyone know anywhere decent to get new grilles? I've looked at superskoda but their only selling the plastic piece and it's excluding the chrome! Or could I wrap the grille and spray the wrap in black magic Pearl?- 2008 vRS front grille colour Coding
I know its been asked many times before but I was wondering whats the best current way to colour code the front chrome grille? I was thinking of getting the honeycomb grille and colour coding that one. The car is black magic pearl in colour. Thanks for any help!- OBDEleven Pro/VCDS Diagnostic Tools
Thanks for the reply! I don't plan on using the apps now as I've chatted to another lad who said its better long coding rather than using those credit based apps. What I'm mainly looking for out of the tool is an error checker, dpf soot levels, electronic break release and maybe moderate coding but not on a mechanics level, as I'm by no means a mechanic 🤣 - Coilovers
