Agree on all of the above :)

I though xenon lights were good but wow LED's are just amazing, its pretty much like daytime when you use the main beams on country roads!

Me too but l did think I was getting flashed because they were so bright. After a couple of months I realised my lights were set to the right side (mainland Europe) . Just a touch screen press in settings to change, didn’t know you could till I stumbled across it when playing with settings!

My free 1 year subscription has worked about 4 times in about 20 attempts I gave up ages ago. As for sat nav I use google maps via iPhone it's better than the one provided imho.

In fact I've just remembered the day I picked car up the skoda expert was in teaching the staff how to set skoda connect up so he used mine as an example. And embarrassingly for them he couldn't get it to work! Left with it not been able to connect!

There are many Wheel places or mobile repairers that will come to your place of work or home.  Dealers will use these places then stick there bit on and charge you the earth. Try places like this  www.directfinish.co.uk ( I have no involvement with this company ) Some offer a same day service.

When buying car I took out alloy and tyre cover through dealership it was £150 for 3 years which seemed decent knowing full well wife will scuff/kerb them. So I'm tied to them it's through premia solutions but they have referred me back to Hayselden skoda where I bought it.

  4. I've recently booked one of the standard 17" alloy wheels that comes on fl vrs Octavia to be fixed. They are diamond cut and apparently they need the wheel or car for 3 days,I need car and didn't order the spare option (mistake),they don't lend or provide one which leaves me stuck so I guess I'm going to have to buy a spare one. Preferably a space saver that fits in boot. Anybody know a good place to provide one? Seen a couple on internet a fair bit more than paying the original option . Or see if skoda dealership do one maybe? Thought I'd ask around on here first.

Looks great. Black pack is a must on the vRS for me.  Costs pennies too (relatively).

Okay, so I now like the new lights!

The vRS looks super aggressive at the front. As above, I think the Black Pack is a necessary addition to get the right look!

Totally agree for some reason I didn't get it,it's my only regret. Going to have to look into changing it not sure how I'd stand with pcp though

Well, looks like you're correct. I thought they all came with front assist(?) as standard now. Heck, my wife's Fabia has it. Oh well.

You would think the front assist standard lane assist option but I don't think any safety improvements should ever be an option they should be standard across the ranges. The can you afford to be safer just doesn't sit well with me.

Those who have their FL vRS. Did it come with the radar for emergency braking and can you disable it within the maxi dot menu?

Doesn't this only come with the front assist option? I do have the front assist option and you can turn it off and alter the distances at which it works at ie when it alerts you your too close,I think! Not played with it left it as it was. And yes you can do in maxi dot screen.

  8. Well been to body shop for em to look at damage he thinks it's been caused by by someone pulling wiper up hard,I don't think so but it's not my opinion that counts so he contacted main dealer to give go head but couldn't get through to him and they were shutting. So I await the outcome but what he is saying is 3rd party damage so they will probs say I have to pay which is very frustrating as I know it's not me. But we shall see...

  9. So cleaning the car other day I noticed this:

Its on the bonnet lip facing driver,it's down to metal in one bit. Been in contact with main dealer who thinks it could be a paint defect. They have sent me to there body shop specialist, who I will visit this afternoon. I think he is going to decide if it my fault or not. Now I can 100% tell you I haven't done it. On the phone he suggested the wipers which I had looked at and didn't line up. But with him saying that I checked a bit deeper by putting wipers in the service mode to get a better view and there is a clear mark on the wiper arm, now for this to have hit the bonnet lip the bonnet must have been up and wiper blades turned/knocked on. My prime suspect would be the car valet who prepared car. I of course can't prove it...

I'm getting the feeling I'm going to get shafted.

It is leather or a synthetic leather type. Arm rest slides backwards and forwards too which I like, only owned fl so not sure if this was a feature before

I only found out by chance youngest was climbing through middle which he got shouted at for but not only did I discover this bit he also hit his head on roof which revealed a little storage compartment!

For the FL VRS owners -

Is the arm rest still wrapped in leather? I've seen that the standard VRS seats are now all fabric and no longer half leather (at least here in Ireland) and that makes me wonder do we have to settle for a fabric covered arm rest?

Now that I think about it - do the standard seats even have a leather back to them anymore?

I love my 2015 VRS but I'm feeling that itch..

Mine has just arrived at the dealership a little early, going to wait 6 weeks and get it on the new plate.

vRS Hatch 184 DSG in Meteor Grey with Black Pack ☺️

Really! Wait 6 weeks just for a newer plate wtf! No way in world I could do that,it's like leaving xmas pressies wrapped under tree till mid Feb but allowed to open if you choose!

  13. Thought this might be a handy little thread for people feeling their way round the new Octavia for the first time to compare/share experiences and finds.

Ive looked at the puncture repair kit for first time today (didn't order spare wheel) and it all looked a bit bare in the polystyrene insert so checked manual to see what I should have, but depends on your configuration. I have no jack, crank or wheel wrench. Is this the normal set up as I don't need to change wheel in theory as I have the puncture repair kit? When inserting the puncture repair liquid in wheel surely you need move the wheel round (either on or off the vehicle) for it to cover the whole interior of wheel to work correctly. If your tyre is flat surely you need to jack it up for this to happen so not to risk damage of wheel and tyre driving it flat.

Maybe I'm over thinking it but never had the experience of this punture repair stuff. Looking at it now I think a spare wheel ordered would have been a wiser option. The puncture repair looks fiddley and awkward.
